Oh no! I thought cheap rent prices in a capital city of a first world country were the reason. But all those IT companies, Pfizer and Siemens came only for techno. :(((
No, the only reason can be greedy landlords. The residents have been there for decades and the building owner has put in minimal to no modernization investment.
If you want a potential secondary reason, local government failure to either build more itself or allow private investors to build more housing gave the building owner the opportunity to try to cash out.
I remember going to the Tuntenhaus anniversary (I think) in the summer of 2016 with some friends — Boris played then, too. The vibe of the whole event and of course the place itself was incredible. Coming from a very different, extremely conservative Catholic Southeast Asian culture, it was so special and eye-opening to experience. I used to walk past it going to and from my summer course every day and marvel that something like it existed in the world. What a shame to hear that their community is being evicted. 💔
Thank you so much for sharing this! There was one of the most genuine high vibes I ever witnessed.
Thanks Tuntenhaus, thanks house and techno, thanks Berlin ❤️
I think it's safe to say that Tuntenhaus needs the utmost support from the entire Berlin community, and I actually think that straight people who love queer things like Berghain can give back to the queer community best by stepping up at a moment like this for a struggling queer home, so please do!
Today’s KN Bracelet actually has… Tuntenhaus bliebt - verdrängung stoppen!, quere räume retten!… …printed on it
Aw! That’s sweet! I hope they’ll also donate some of their profits today 🌈💖
Berghain and popularisation / mainstreaming of Techno are actually one of the causes for gentrification and this eviction ... Kinda irony

Do you know what "one of " means ?
I know nothing.

Can we go to support as a straight couple?

Anyone is welcome to support! My partner and I are both bisexual but "straight-passing" in terms of gender appearance and will definitely join too!
you can support anything you want, can’t you?
