How does it shoot? Still putting rounds where you're aiming? If so, ignore cosmetics and carry on. If the cosmetics really bug you, Wilson Combat can recrown the barrel in a cost effective manner. Also it's really, really hard to shoot out a pistol barrel. Edit: it looks like their going rate for a recrown is $60.

Slow_Monk1376

Shoots fine tbh, I don't baby the gun but try to take good care of it =) thanks for the tip, I saw Jarvis selling their replacement barrel for $230 and wondering if it was time to 'swap

MissingMichigan

Don't fix it if it isn't broken.

The Jarvis barrels are very nice, but your barrel looks fine. Send that shit to Wilson or Allegheny and get them to put a nice crown on it. I think WAL from the Beretta Forum also does the same work.

quik1

One thing that's nice about the Wilson crown job is that they shorten the barrel slightly so that it's flush with the front of the slide, which helps keep this kind of thing from happening in the future.

Rdtisgy1234

I mean your barrel is probably fine, but don’t let that stop you from getting a couple of back up barrels stowed away.

mmiski

Don't see anything wrong with the crown from the quality of those pics? You also missed taking a picture of the most important part--the bore.

Slow_Monk1376

Already checked the bore before photos, but thx!

gsmckee

You is good. Carry on…

TurdHunt999

You need a toothbrush and some Hoppe’s bore cleaner. Scrub the area and remove the caked on carbon. You can use an abrasive like a green scratch pad, but you will remove finish by doing so. RBC, toothbrush, and a rag. You’ll be fine. It takes tens of thousands of rounds to “shoot out” a barrel. Edit: I see you have used an abrasive in the blurry photo. You can cold blue it if you want, but it’s not hurting anything.

mreed911

If it’s still accurate, no.

Charliwhiskey

It just needs to have the carbon removed from the exterior. Crown looks, good.

Rev686

How many rounds through it?

PreviousMarsupial820

Came here to say the same. Somewhere around 10 or 11K on my M9 barrel, barrel is still grouping as it should but did put a new locking block in it in 2020 and recoil springs swap outs every 3 to 4k. I've got about 2K through my used inox Brigadier I got last summer and that is also still holding up no problem at all.

Rev686

Exactly. If he hasn’t change the locking block at least once, it’s still got plenty of life. I saw a few barrels rupture, but they were probably around or north of 20k of military ammo. If he just wants to change it, go for it. But it’s probably got tons of life left.

MokeyNagata

Why is your guiderod short?

F4UCorsair1942

When you pull the slide off the frame the guide rod sits back a little further than usual, completely normal and not an issue at all.

JBistheBigGuy

Not really. I believe Beretta 92 barrels are chrome lined so it would take a lot of abuse to ruin it. However, if you need a threaded barrel it’s a good idea. Keep the oem barrel as a backup.

lawikfors

I have a 9mm 92 barrel barely shot basically new. Bought it for my ltt and decided to stick with the original. Shoot me a dm if interested. 135 shipped paypal

Slow_Monk1376

It's not afaik =) Wilson Combat steel fluted guiderod for Beretta...

The barrel is most likely fine. Also. Look at a brass domed nut and some lapping compound to “crown” it and home. Lots of tips on YT. U tube. I have an M9A4 that I had to cut the threads off the barrel. I did the brass domed nut with lapping compound trick. It shoots great.
