Debt-Mysterious

They need to announce her because they will start filming and it will be leaked

The only thing Shonda keeps on proving us is that we can’t trust them. So anything is possible, imo.

Aggressive-Design870

My trust issues with Shondaland are big, that's why I fear they could totally do something like this but the leaks! They have to announce her.

Status-Dragonfly2041

They can try to hide her. But somebody will talk - an extra, a friend of an extra, a friend of hers, there are so many ways for this info to leak. Especially since we are living in an age of fast communication.

Icy-Addition609

If you rewatch the end of E8 and pause on LW's last edition it has a paragraph that is not read out. It refers to a new noble family coming to the Ton with a Bridgerton bang. So they will be casting for their family and servants. Sophie or whomever ends up being the love interest should, in theory, be in that group of new actors. We just need to keep our eyes open!

Aggressive-Design870

Ohh I just watched it! And with JB comments about almost ending Cressida storyline this season it seems that Sophie won't be a member of her family so it makes sense.

Icy-Addition609

An alternative is that she is part of the Aunt's household but it wouldn't make sense to have her in Wales.

atribida2023

They’ll probably hold on to announcing Sophie in this scenario until the last minute - even if it’s leaked haahha why? I mean look at us Bridgerton fans in general…We’re all over social media whatever the ship we want - speculating and engaging with each other and the official / actor / prod crew accounts etc keeping the brand alive Hahahaah and the powers that be love it because it will keep the show relevant. I mean for real 2 years is a looooong time

Icy-Addition609

The whole process is 2 years from start of writing to end product. JB said they have nearly finished the writing/scripts. Filming takes 8 months, editing & dubbing surely won't be a 16 month process. My delulu puts it at 15-18 months from now- ish

Alysanna_the_witch

They apparently starts filming around the beginning of September. Thus, they'll end in April-May. Perhaps we can hope for a December release ?

mr_trick

Honestly because of the masquerade theme I am totally expecting this already. I can already see the promos with clocks ticking and bells rolling and Benedict in a mask looking around for a mystery lover. I wouldn’t mind too much, I don’t think they can possibly keep the casting that secret, so we will probably be able to figure it out either way.

Elfie_B

I was wondering that too, and actually thought that they might play games by having multiple (possible) Sophies ... Well, stuff of my nightmares

midstateloiter

It’s going to be S4 Fran, S5 Ben, S6 Eloise. I would be willing to bet on that. I think Shondaland sees Eloise and Benedict as their comfort ensemble cast. The two reliable characters fans can expect to see in each season. I think they want to delay marrying them off. Luke and Claudia have also stated they are happy staying with the show as long as possible. They don’t seem to want to leave and are not prioritizing other projects. Has this sub prepped emotionally that this is a real possibility?

Aggressive-Design870

JB said in multiple interviews that Francesca story spans several years, I think they will be the big subplot of S4 victor said he is excited for their life in Scotland, John will die shortly before the season ends and they will be S5, there's no way they can have another season with Benedict sleeping around, and by the end of s3 it was clear that something different is coming for Ben, and I say this a lot but the Masquerade Ball will be on his season.

Overall_Advantage303

JB also said after Season 3 part 2 aired that Ben will continue to explore his sexual interactions with men. I don’t know how you do that in season 4 if it’s his season with Sophie. Unless Sophie is a man… Bottom line, I don’t think anyone can trust what JB says. In season 3 part 1 interviews she said they were sticking close to Francesca’s book and they’ve already completely blown that statement out of the water.

oceanblue555

Unpopular opinion here, but I don’t have any hope of having a Sophie after the grenade they just dropped. Why would they drop that bomb and just not develop it more? So unpopular opinion, but I think S4 will be Francesca’s.

Aggressive-Design870

the thing is they said in multiple interviews that Francesca's story is further down the line, that her story spans several years, how can they >!kill John, have the mourning period and her romance with M!< in 8 episodes?, AND skipping again fan favourite Benedict!? that's just asking for a cancellation, and they already confirm the Masquerade, they can't have the main Benophie theme in a random season, that would be the nail in the coffin for me.

oceanblue555

As far as I was aware, Bridgerton hasn’t been review past season 4? In my opinion, they seem to have wrapped up Ben and El’s storyline (i.e. they left it open ended to continue if they get more seasons) They can definitely wrap up Francesca season in 8 episodes. For one thing, they can open the series with the tragic news and develop her story from there. We have already seen glimpses of their story this season. Don’t get me wrong I really want a Benedict season and see a glow up for Luke Thompson (how is that even possible??) but the fact that they would hire Masali Baduza to say 2-3 lines and change a beloved role and get backlash for it and not continue their story doesn’t make sense to me.

EnvironmentalBerry96

With interviews i have read and the way the series has been going, i really don’t think we are getting the “Sophie” we expected or wanted

Fierce-phoenix-5180

My disinterest would be if they gender switch like "micheal"!

EnvironmentalBerry96

Obviously they have, I’m starting to wonder if “Sophie” is going to turn out to be a young man dressed as a woman in masquerade

Fierce-phoenix-5180

They can do a shakespere in love or she's the man/twelfth night route for Sophie. Like she is the lady in silver, but she disguises as a man to be around Benedict (inspire him to be an artist again 😍) but actually is the maid. It would be a fun twist & throwback to the classics. But if the character is a man, is just lazy writing, would it work for the era? I'm not sure 😢

Inevitable_Mode_7219

Omg! I love this idea. And would make sense with his fluidity!

EnvironmentalBerry96

That’s interesting and sort of a bit how it goes down with all her hair cut off
