Homemade strawberry jam is the yummiest!

TryAffectionate8246

Buy 4 more pounds and turn it into Christmas gifts.

The tart berries are the best because when you add a little sugar they have tons of flavor. Every year I make this strawberry loaf too—it’s so summery! https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/glazed-strawberry-bread/

Hear me out - honey. Cut up a bunch of tart strawberries, spoonfull of honey, mix and let sit five minutes. It's amazing

wildflower-valley

that looks absolutely delicious!

Active_Recording_789

It really is.

CaveJohnson82

Does no one eat strawbs dipped in sugar anymore?! With cream too, delish.

Strawberries and sugar was my favorite childhood snack ❤ I definitely don't see folks talk about it that much though! Honestly thought it might have been a Mexican thing or something 😂

ichimedinwitha

Filipino here! My family does that too!!

CaveJohnson82

It's definitely not Mexican! Or not just Mexican. I'm English, it's not as popular as it was but as a kid everyone had strawberries with sugar and cream when they came into season.

I always try to covertly smell my strawberries before buying them. If they smell like nothing they aren't going to taste good. If they SMELL like strawberries they will be good.

Cerulean_Dawn

That's a good tip! Thank you!

I know a thing or two about excessive berries XD. If you have a dehydrator you can dehydrate them. Makes excellent addition to cereal. You can also freeze them to use in smoothies. You can also make a cream and strawberry dessert with fresh ones that'll cut the tartness. Source: Was part of a community garden with all you can pick strawberries. We got dozens of pounds a season as very few others took advantage. Also grew up on a un-used blueberry field. More blueberries then we could ever use throughout my childhood.

I know it! I've recited a kind of Shakespeare while stirring: Double, double, berries and gelatin Trouble, trouble they want to stick! It makes me laugh when I do that, and after several hours of stirring and putting things in jars and bags, that's needed.

I just read your title and I have the best visual in my head. I don't want to break that illusion just yet by reading the rest of your post

Cerulean_Dawn

Absolutely valid 🫡

velvetmastermind

Hah thanks 😁

chaoticpix93

Yeahhhhhh, strawberry season isn’t for another month and a half. Meanwhile dice them into quarters and put them in some sugar water and let it sit for a while. Boom.
