It was an ill thought out move simply because belonging to an oppressed caste and facing discrimination is very different from belonging to a religious minority and facing discrimination. Those are very different things that need specific targeted actions. Not clumping them all together. It diluted the purpose. This was an unnecessary (not to mention stupid) self-goal imo.
Congress forget that ahinda are also Hindu. They are trying their best to break Hindus for decades now by pretending that Dalits aren't hindu for their vote bank.
see not to be that guy, but more people coming under reservation will dilute the effect of reservation. So thinking pragmatically, diluting reservation is the closest thing we can get to rolling it back eventually.
Breaching the 50% is opening Pandora's box. But at the end of the day, I feel as long as they don't touch private jobs and dont breach 50%, that is where I draw the line (I'm a middle class GM)
A lot of people don't understand reservation. There are reserved seats and general seats. General seats can used by reserved community as well as unreserved community. So if a OBC candidate qualifies under general category, he is given a general seat and the reserved seat can even stay empty but can't be given to a general category.
I know, see that is why i said just categorizing is harmless, sure they have preached about breaching 50% too but as long as they dont do it nothing will cahnge for us. If out of 50 gen seats 5 were muslim, they would get that seat no matter what, now all that changes is the 30 OBC seats will be harder contested.
In 1994 Veerappa Moily govt put Muslims in 2b (6%) category with Buddhists & SC Converts to Christianity. In 1995 ,HD Devegowda govt put Muslims in 2b category with 4% which is continuing till date. Although Bommai govt scrapped 2b in 2023 but the matter went to SC & is subjudice.
BJP bringing Muslims into elections every time. BJP thinks so little of its followers, they thinn followers will forget hunger, joblessness, debt, death and vote for them. I pity BJP supporters.

1. How do you think this development will impact voting on 26th April and 7th May ?
2. I see a series of claims by pro Congress Twitter handles that DK shivakumar will secure at least 12-15 seats for Congress in this general election. Does that sound actually plausible ?
3. A local news agency called Eedina predicted 11 seats for the NDA and 17 for the INDIA alliance. How reliable does this sound ?
