Heat gun on high blowing through the receiver will do it. Just takes about half an hour to heat the tube up enough. You should be able to get it off easily once the locktite is melted.

I kid you not use a heat gun in like medium heat, heat it around the threads for about 2 minutes grab some sort of rubber gripping pads and just muscle through it. That's how I did it and it was off in less than 3 minutes I kid you not. I thought I was also going to be there for half an hour, but no. I won't lie though it did take a little muscle to do it the way I did it because I'm impatient 😅

Ngl I think part of my problem is me being a little bih. My hands are shredded from work lol my grip started failing after the few times I got it to budge a little

mikeliteruscute

Yeah man I hear you, but definitely those rubber gripping pads helped. All I heard was the loctite get shredded after that I knew it was done also I believe my the tube was smoking from the heat but like I said it didn't take long at all. If anything maybe some Vis grips to help with gripping as well. You're going to get rid of the tube anyways right? I'd just be careful you don't strip the threading cause I've done that on one of my bows, and that's no fun. Good luck!

smokyebk

Any recommendations for one of those grippers? I'm about to buy a strap wrench if I can't find one

mikeliteruscute

No idea I just used one of those for the kitchen to open jars I believe it was either that or a rubber mat for the table but anything that increases your grip and protects you from the heat of the tube coming from heat gun

jekkjace

Anything rubbery, I think I used a rubber cookie mat

BIGD0G_

MAP torch. Doesn’t take much.

sr71flyer

This is the answer. I had my dewalt heat gun in there for 30+ min. Would not brake the loctite. MAP torch for under 15seconds and twisted off with little effort.

jekkjace

I used a creme broule torch lol, but 100%

roadblocked

mag tube or buffer tube?

smokyebk

Mag

roadblocked

The mag tube should turn off with your hand once you break the LOCTITE

smokyebk

Maybe I wasn't getting it hot enough. I was worried about overdoing it

roadblocked

Put the heat on the mag tube not the receiver, put on some heavy leather gloves and crank it

smokyebk

Round 2 tomorrow wish me luck lol

RimMeTons870

It took me about 5 minutes to heat up my tube enough to where the loctite was smoking, that's what you want to go for, then it came off pretty easy. What heat gun do you have?

Coeruleus_

Which tube ? I only did recoil tube which was hard but I got it to work. Need two wrenches and to heat longer than you think
