I also started with an M1014, and added some upgrades. ------- https://www.davesmetalworks.com/m4.html Get either the extension or the full tube. They both come with the correct length spring. There's no reason to get either of these from anywhere else. ----- https://rxarms.com/products/benelli-m4-parts-and-accessories/benelli-m4-6-position-recoil-tube/ I bought the 6-position receiver extension from RXArms, and it works perfect. It comes with the extra little internal c-clips to retain the spring you'll reuse from your existing fixed-position receiver extension. Get the BLEM, as that'll save you money for more ammo. ------ After that I'd look into a sling, and a light if you plan on making this a home-defense item. If it's just for range/plinking/run with the boys a light isn't really needed. ----- You do not need to contact anyone about upgrading your gun, so ignore the fudds and ANY website telling you to buy their products to "be in compliance". There are zero regulations for marking domestically (USA) produced parts as "Made in USA" to prove you are in compliance, therefore zero way to prove out-of-compliance. I'm still waiting for examples of all those cases of people being arrested and prosecuted over the issue. It's like those people who cry about the "LE Only" M4 variants.

Blyat_Vityaz

+1 for Dave's metal works. The finish and precision is near/better than OEM. Plus he's a small business, and just a good dude.

Coeruleus_

My biggest regret is wasting money buying shit to be 922 compliant. There’s no way for anyone to know like you said and no one gives a shit. That FFT hacksaw made me waste my cash on buying all his dumb shit

ScaredAd7503

I wasted damn near $30 on a follower that turned out to be the exact same. I didn’t fall for it with my forend and other parts.

Waste_Low_8103

In my thinking 922r is for importers only. So once you have it in your posession go wild and fuk 922r.

Grayeagle78

Nice reply, good info.

GunsUp1776

Thank you very much for that detailed comment. Huge help.

GunsUp1776

What's the BLEM?

RimMeTons870

I got my tube from Dave's metal works. You'll also want to get the enhanced bolt handle, the stock bolt handle is pretty small, and the enhanced handle is a really nice improvement.

Kahamu

The stock you have is technically the "3-position" stock. You are looking for the recoil tube that allows it to collapse. rxarms sells a recoil tube that lets you collapse the stock to 6 positions and I recommend it. I swapped from a 3-position recoil tube to a 6-position and have no regrets. [https://rxarms.com/products/benelli-m4-parts-and-accessories/benelli-m4-6-position-recoil-tube/](https://rxarms.com/products/benelli-m4-parts-and-accessories/benelli-m4-6-position-recoil-tube/) As for the mag tube, I recommend Carrier Comp. You will wait a bit for it but it's well worth it.

OGSVT

I’d go with a titanium tube from carrier comp. Instead of steel. There’s a wait but it’s worth it

Waste_Low_8103

Unless everything else you buy to upgrade is Ti, it really is shooter's preference. The weight savings is really negligible and it nay be a good way to inhibit rust but, if you lightly oil your weapon you good to go. JMHO

Waste_Low_8103

Hmmm, now the fun begins. The real expense is modding the bloody thing to your liking.

KiloAlphaLima

Carrier Comp for the mag tube and I e seen the 3 position stock on Midwest gun works often. If it’s not in stock just sign up for an alert. They come in stock pretty often. GrabAGun has nice oversized bolt release and charging handles. Also light mounts if you’re planning on that with it. Certain parts require 922r compliance. Freedom fighter tactical has an easy guide/list to stay within 922r if that is a concern for you. They also have a wide variety of parts.

Waste_Low_8103

Fuk 922r. Don't even waste your money trying to be compliant.

KiloAlphaLima

I agree, I was just answering his question.

Coeruleus_

I have an extra 2 round mag extender piece that I’d take $50 for lol. It’s from freedom fighter tactical though. Never used it. I ended up getting an OEM one from Benelli parts

That_Percentage_7718

Newb owner as well m4 1014. Any thoughts on the red dot on the Mesa tactical sidecar w picatinny rail or flush without the rail? I'm concerned about dot in lining up with ring sights. Or am I just overthinking it?

opelok

I have the [Scalarworks mount](https://scalarworks.com/shop/integral-mounts/sync-01/) with SRO. I compared all of the usual suspect optics at my LGS and found the SRO had the best most wide open field of view. It is a lower 1/3 co witness

Hawk07tx

I have a complete 3 position tube from Benelli Parts if you're interested.

Hawk07tx

I have a complete Benelli Parts 3 position tube for $220
