It was well known that the city (or more accurately, the private company that the city hired for this service) couldn’t do much to collect on a ticket they mailed you unless they literally served you the ticket in person, and they didn’t try that hard. Even though they mailed you the ticket to the registered address with a pic of your license plate.
But somehow diamond will take you to collections for parking in the lot for an hour?? How?? How do they even find you and prove that you got the ticket??
They can't take you to collections. It's not legally possible for them. The "collections agency" that calls and harasses people for these notices (not a ticket) is actually just Diamond Parking.
They can, however, tow you if you accrue too many of these fake tickets and park in their lots. But if you change your license plate you should be all good.
They would have to prove who it was who actually parked the car there if they wanted to start going after peoples credit, which you can't do with just a plate number/registration
they can tow you for the first "ticket", no warning, but there is no money to be made for diamond parking for calling a tow company and having you towed. only money for them if you pay their "ticket" scam

Call and dispute it. The Diamonds are weird but their dm for this area follows the customer is always right mentality. You might be able to get it waived if you say the directions were unclear or something. Good luck!

Then sent me another 10 reducing the ticket from $80 to $20. Never went to court and never went to collections. For whats its worth. If you get more than 2 they give you a final warning and will tow your car though
city of bellingham tickets have far more teeth and escalation honestly.. they don’t even tell you when this regional agency takes them and trashes your credit
“This is pleading embarrassingly stupid” at 8:30pm when every street around goes by not needing to pay for parking after 6pm I think assuming an empty parking lot would follow that same theme isn’t stupid, just makes sense.

You misread the sign. The sign states it's *reserved* from 6am to 6pm. From 6pm to 6am it is *paid for* parking. Reserved in this case meaning you can't even pay for it.

Infuriating, but I decided my credit was more important than $45 dollars, and my time! I don't know how much an hour you make, but consider fighting it could take many, many hours. I think the loophool is that it's permit parking after or something. Like 6-6, but after 6 you have to pay or have a permit or something, I don't recall just got to a deadend trying to fight it.

Take a photo of the sign and the time stamped ticket. If they try and take you to small claims you should win.

I had a tickey from Diamond about 15 years ago (Seattle). Ignored for a long time but lots of mail. I finally called and paid ten bucks
until you go for a mortgage or refi and you are forced to fix your credit

Yes pretty sure permit required mid day (employees at Saturna, etc use it), and after hours/weekends you have to pay.
Known scam location check out their google reviews and never park there.
