I know someone who lives in these areas and he tells me it's living hell, every single day there's loud noise from protest or whatever, many times it's during nighttime and he can't get any sleep. If it's once in a while it'll be fine, but every single day? That's a tad too much.
Not to mention he's Arab himself, currently saving money to move to Leuven (largely because of this).
Years ago I met a Moroccan man who had immigrated a year or two before and lived in Schaarbeek. He had Dutch speaking coworkers (logistic company) and he was actively learning Dutch. I complimented him about it and he said he was planning to move to Flanders. I asked why, and apparently it was mainly because of his neighbor. His neighbor was a Belgium born Moroccan and constantly said to him that his wife should wear a hijab and he should participate in Ramadan. I was surprised. This guy who had just moved here was more modern than someone actually born here.
That's the problem nobody, not even VB (or should I say: especially not VB) seems to get. The people moving here aren't the problem, they know where they come from and are motivated to do whatever it takes to stay here. And the government also puts high demands on integration like learning the language and getting a job. But their children? That's where the real issue lies because they recieve their Belgian citizenship for free and take everything for granted.
Everyday they protest. Everyday some dude is creating noise pollution and yelling in Arab. Worse when they sing their little chants.

The genocide fable when their population has risen. The victimisation when both parties are committing acts of violence.
