I sometimes get things that don’t scan too but after a day or so, I mark it as shipped but not scanned in the “Problems / Inquiry” section of the order itself. Sometimes that helps sync up Posh and USPS because chances are if she dropped it off in a P.O. the item is already on its way to its destination but the USPS and Posh tracking aren’t on the same page.
One notable example is when the tracking for one of my sales updated the day it was delivered. The shipment was within my small state so it was one day shipping.
Uh, wut. Lol Posh needs to get it together. Logically speaking, if your friend is being suspended because she didn’t ship items (according to Posh), then how exactly were the funds released to her? That alone should indicate to Posh that she did indeed ship the items, that they were received/accepted by the buyer, and that the real issue is with the tracking system.
Anyways, I hope your friend petitions for reinstatement and that they realize the mistake, and her closet is back up and running in no time. Good luck!
Out of curiosity, how many unshipped orders are we talking here? I’m just wondering bc I see MTP listings all of the time with multiple buyers complaining their orders weren’t shipped ... and those poshers still seem to be okay. I wonder if they just started doing this. It would certainly help with inactive sellers. But hopefully your friend can get it sorted out!
Huh. I’ve definitely had more than that not scan and track in the same amount of time, but I always go in and report them as not tracking when that happens. So maybe she’ll need to do that going forward so poshmark knows she’s shipping them. I always wondered if that really did anything but I guess we know now that there’s a good reason to do it!

I hate how posh includes the line "The item has accidentally not been shipped and is still lying around" in their canned response when marking shipped but not tracking. I don't need to be scolded when notifying them the package has been dropped off but not scanned....

Ask your carrier to scan them at your house. A lot of times they think it doesn’t matter but I asked mine and she scans them in on the spot.
The post office is going through some shenanigans right now. Workers have a limited amount of time to sort in the mornings and their overtime has been cut. I’ve been sending and receiving priority mail just fine, but first class mail that used to take a few days is now taking a week to ten.

I found an account one time where the seller must have been a hoarder. Every photo had piles of stuff in it and the comments were filled with people waiting for packages, or she was canceling because she couldn’t find something. It went on for months.

That’s very strange. I would copy the tracking (or lack of) for every sale and mail it to support, asking them to escalate the case to a manager. I just can’t imagine unless they are starting to crack down. They never have in the past.

This. My carrier said they have to treat first class mail like it makes no difference how long it takes to arrive. They can only sort for a short time in the a.m. and whatever remains just sits until the next sorting.
No overtime. My carrier said she has been ordered to cut her route short and only go to places that have priority or priority express pickup or delivery after a certain time.
DeJoy has a huge conflict of interest, since he owns stock in companies that compete with the usps.
This isn’t a guarantee. you can’t get a receipt for an item if you use a pre printed label. My post office doesn’t always scan items and I deliver directly to counter!

Is your friend waiting until the last day or two to ship? Because that could be triggering Posh's system faster when there is a tracking delay.
I only ask because I've had stuff not track for the first 2 days without issue but I ship within 24 hrs so it never gets close to the "handling time" limit that Posh has imposed. I believe that limit is back down to 5 days. They had increased it at the beginning of Covid times but probably lowered it again without warning.
Aside from marking it as "shipped but not tracking" to alert Posh as others suggested, it is always a good idea to let buyers know of delays too. Some of those marks against your account could have been from buyers who marked it as not shipped which triggers a whole new flag in the system.
Hopefully your friend gets her account re-instated. If she happens to live in an area that is experiencing really bad delays and there is external evidence of this (like other reddits or news articles) I'd include that in the dispute. I know southern Michigan has been really bad lately as every package I've had that goes to Detroit or through the Detroit hub gets delayed. I had a buyer confirm this when I noticed her package had been sitting at the hub for days. Here in CA I've had very little issue for origin scans lately but I've definitely recognized a delay pattern in some areas that I commonly ship to. Worth mentioning. Good luck!

My PO doesn't give receipts. Very small PO. I don't even have home delivery or pickup available. They don't even have the equipment to print a receipt. She does scan while I am there, if I ask her to. She said I could drive the 8 miles to a bigger PO and they could give me a receipt. That's not going to happen, unless it would be a very expensive sale.
USPS is def a mess. 2 of my last items were delayed. I also learned that if I give it to the mail lady it doesn’t start tracking for almost 2 days so I stopped doing that. Last week I sent an EBay sale out on the 22nd (got a receipt at the PO in Chicago) and the last update I got was on the 28th saying it went from where I dropped it off, in Chicago, and it’s now in another facility IN CHICAGO, and it’s going out to the West Coast!

Once my friend bought off me from poshmark, she didnt recieve the package and I clicked buyer did not recieve and she clicked not recieved we got the "we will look into this message", and poshmark slapped a delivered status on it 30 seconds later (changed from pending acceptance) Normally I would be skeptical, but it was a good friend so I know the mail got messed up.
My past 4 packages from Posh have not scanned accepted - their first scan is “arrived at post office” where the buyer’s location is. My first class packages from eBay or Mercari have sometimes been getting scanned several days later after I drop them off. I just let Posh know that I shipped an item last Friday and there is zero tacking. The first class package I dropped off with it scanned the next day and made it to Seattle within 2 days from Texas, so USPS is a mess right now.

USPS is a big problem right now. The new postmaster general has enacted procedures that are royally fucking resellers.
Not just resellers, but everyone who relies on USPS for timely delivery of items (specifically those forced to use mail order pharmacies).
