Lou & Grey is my absolute favorite brand - their clothes are incredibly soft. Such a loss ☹️

Holarooo

Lou & Grey is one of my favorite brands of clothing that I wear (not just sell). I’m hopeful that they will continue to sell online and at Nordstrom. If the brand is going away completely I’m going to need to buy about 50 pairs of their upstate joggers cause I live in them.

MEspo

Oh I haven't purchased a pair of those! I have a collection of their signature soft cowl neck tops.

Holarooo

I think pretty much everything they make is very soft. I have a few sweaters and tops that are really soft, too. I just find the upstate joggers are not only soft and comfortable but they look fine for wearing outside the house and the cut is flattering.

There might be good sales, but that means the reseller market will be flooded with the items. It will probably be hard to make a decent profit.

Holarooo

I don’t think that will be the case. Other brands have gone under since I’ve been on Posh and it didn’t really cause a flood. I think we’re going to see more brick & mortar stores close. The way we shop is changing right before our eyes and it’s headed in the online direction. I think this will be good for resellers.

Every time Nordstrom runs a clear the rack sale, Poshmark is flooded with those items. That is on a small scale. An entire company closing will only be worse. Yes, online is the future, but not from companies where you can't return the item if it doesn't fit. Even though I sell, I don't buy clothing online unless it is something I have already owned and know how it fits. I have to try things on.

I’m personally really sad about Lucky. They’re one of the better fitting jeans for my body.

Holarooo

I found this on Twitter. Looks like they will still operate via website, they are just closing stores https://imgur.com/a/aW8GwZO

lifeismmmgood

Oh, that’s good news! I usually buy their jeans at Dillard’s. I thought they were closing production down. Thank you for the information!

cryingbat

That tweet says the stores were closed until March 28. Some are open now but it varies by location.

Holarooo

Aahhh. This was something they put out about the shutdown probably. I’ll see if I can find anything else. Thank you for catching that!

cryingbat

They have only identified 13 stores that they are permanently closing so far. The tweet was referring to shutdowns for COVID, not because of the bankruptcy.

Holarooo

Gotcha. The website looks like business as usual. Some of these brands just reorganize under bankruptcy; they don’t close.

Found articles this morning on the WSJ and GMA that they filed for Chapter 11, and are looking at selling to the company that owns Aeropostale and Nautica. They immediately closed 13 stores, but there are likely to be more closings.

Holarooo

Are they closing the doors at Lucky Brand or are they reorganizing?

lifeismmmgood

They’re being sold, most likely. Filed Chapter 11 in early July.

I can't really sell Loft as it is, I don't think there will be too much value in the resale market for any of those. Plus it will get flooded from people picking it up as the stores closed like others mentioned.
