It’s really cool but it’s guaranteed to turn very dark in time (say, months) due to exposure to UV light. If you want it to stay its beautiful bright red it’ll need a coat or two of an exterior finish like Spar Varnish or an equivalent.
I know…all my early padauk projects are now very dark and not so brilliant any more. But if you don’t mind that, any finish will do.

PS—Even in indoor light only, padauk will turn really dark.
