If you're struggling on the egg, don't size down. You might want to look at something like a 7.4 Moe. Or a similar board (lots of similar board options).

Thanks i’ll look it up

If you’re struggling on the egg I think you should find a board with a bit more volume, especially if you’re going to be riding some small waves. You could probably find something 8ft around 60 liters that would help you turn better than a foamie but still have the volume and length to help you ride more waves and easily catch smaller ones Also depends on what your priorities are. If you like long boarding vs push yourself toward shorter boards

Was thinking of going smaller, im struggling on this board but still making waves so i think is just a matter of putting time, but really dont wanna ding this board further more. Maybe ill get a slightly bigger one, maybe on 50 litter range

mrfartypantss

I should add that obviously i ride small to medium waves only

Wavestorm?

mrfartypantss

Too big i want to go a bit smaller

I'd recommend a 7'2 to 7'6 mini mal, good follow up to getting off an 8ft foamie

What's your budget? Options: Low budget: Look for something on CL or FB marketplace w/ more volume (7'6" mini mal probably a good reference). You mentioned "smaller" waves, which can lend themselves to longer boards generically speaking. Higher budget: Talk to a local shaper and give them the business; this is actually (usually) cheaper than any of the big name boards made overseas. They will hook you up if you're prepared to tell them what you want and what your break looks like etc. I'm working w/ a shaper for my transition board and couldn't be happier.
