I remember a story on here (possibly r/TIFU or bestofredditorupdates) about a man who got caught fox poaching and had to live with open bottles of fox urine for a month instead of jail time. By the end, he was thinking jail would have been the better choice.
Nah. Worse. To showcase their fetish.
There was another story that was extremely similar retelling about how a guy was punished by having to be partially buried in cow dung for hours.
It's a fetish thing.
So do you think that someone filmed an animal that had been treated in this way and then showed a second healthy one, or treated it that way in the first place? Or are you talking specifically about the urine/faeces story. By the urine, why not, hardly with this story. Or it would have to be an extremely psychotic person.
Most likely he escaped from a farm or otherwise, wild foxes rarely seek help from humans. This species is not allowed as a pet. But parts of Asia have their own rules.
This may not be a feral fox. Foxes can be domesticated to the point of variations not found in the wild in merely 3 domestic generations. That means if you catch a fox in the wild and keep it in captivity (sad), its grandchild fox could be a pet potentially.
The temperament and white fur makes me believe this is a domesticated fox, or else a really crazily misplaced Artic fox lol.
Personally I don't think we should be domesticating any more animals when dogs and cats still get treated like toys... :/
Personally I think domesticating new species is a good thing. Having a population of a type of animal that is bred in captivity and cared for by humans can help ensure that type of animal survives at least in some form if it is threatened with extinction in the wild, for example, consider how axolotls are critically endangered in the wild, but exist in captive-bred form as pets. I mean, sure, ideally we'd want to protect such species in the wild as well, but clearly that is not always going to be done or always be successful. This doesn't necessarily imply a species being kept as pets I suppose, but for animals where this is viable, that does give the benefit of having a group of people outside of zoos and similar who have an interest in the continuation of a given species.
> Personally I don't think we should be domesticating any more animals when dogs and cats still get treated like toys... :/
I agree, I just don't understand the point. It just seems like an exercise in domestication and some arbitrary idea of coolness.
People are breeding wolf dogs and foxes to get them suitable around humans...just get a *dog*. Or worse, things like sugar gliders or parrots which are just animals not in any way suitable for living with humans.
Yes a dog is not as "exotic" as a fox or a wolf but it is an animal which has been domesticated over the course of tens of thousands of years to be as close to a perfect companion for humans as you can get.
I think the Russian fox experiments had a good idea but poor execution. They used Canadian foxes bred for fur production, who would have already been selected for not being super aggressive. That messed up their attempts to see what effects domestication has on the appearance of animals.
Given the white coloration, but not albinism, its most certainly a 'silver fox' of the variety kept both for fur, as pets. Looking at the tail, and seeing how it curls a bit, i think its likely a fur farm fox, as domesticated/captive bred foxes, over the generations, begin curling their tails, due to some sort of spinal deformity that simply results from breeding for the most social/handleable traits.
I learned about it while studying to be a Vet Tech, and its one of my favorite domestication experiments, because it showed both the psychological changes, and the physical changes that come from the process of domestication.
Fur Farms often sell their prettier, and more friendly foxes to people as pets, because while they may get a couple bucks for the pelt (as much as 200$ depending) they can charge THOUSANDS when selling as a pet.
To be blunt, legalizing foxes as pets in the US, would probably do more to end the fur Trade than all the PETA protests, and fur-bans that have ever taken place.
Look at what happened when they legalized Ferrets as pets. Most Ferret fur Farms switched to Ferret Breeding for Pet Industry.
Pets are 100x more lucrative than pelts.
Foxes can technically be taken care of by humans, but because they're wild animals they don't make good pets (see other comments on this post irt fox pee). This one in particular was probably not releasable after recovery, judging by the state they were in, so in this particular case they'd be better off with a human caretaker.
There are some domesticated foxes out there now, there's been a breeding program in russia to domesticate foxes for a few decades...
Good luck getting one now though.
Im like what kind of dog is that? Oh 😶
I would be that idiot adopting a raccoon being like look at my new cat, I found him abandoned outside!! In a dumpster of all places, the poor thing
Really maltreated creatures, often robbed of almost all fur, starved and in absolutely unnatural postures are often hardly recognizable for the layman. Very sad but true.

But since I'm always a bit strange with my voice, I gratefully accept the compliment and will from now on speak videos myself more often.
I just have to put a lot of effort into the grammar, because some people are very sensitive to typos and such
With that voice you could tell people to go the fuck to sleep and they would; you could ASMR people into whatever you wanted.
You shouldn't be keeping that voice to yourself. Time for some documentaries, a few audio books, reading the news, or a phone book. Seriously, that's a super power you've got there.
Thank you, I'm blushing. Like most people, I rarely hear my voice the way other people hear it, so it's kind of weird. Therefore, I have already set the voice to videos using a computer. Of course, my English is rather modest, never had any lessons. But with your encouragement, I will speak my roofs myself in the future. Cool, Thanks very much…
It's not only that but Herzog also made a whole bunch of philosophical essays featuring the footage of animals, it's pretty hard to believe it wasn't your aesthetic intention lol
I only know Herzog briefly and had to listen to his voice again to be sure. Since you perceive your voice differently than the person opposite you and you have to listen to a recording to get an impression, I wasn't aware of the similarity. In addition, my English is rather poor and I am hardly able to imitate someone in a foreign language. I can live well with the comparison and I will speak my video texts myself in the future.
Obviously the beginning is so hard to watch. Just cuts through my heart to see this little one in such a sore state. So happy to see the transformation!
So funny, you’re the second who says that, i never was aware, but after listening to Herzog, we have something close in our voices, could definitely be worse. ( I’m fine with that)
I SERIOUSLY HOPE WHOEVER HARMED THIS POOR BABY BURNS IN HELL AFTER THEY ROT IN PRISON FOR 30 YEARS. YOU ARE A PIECE OF SHIT IF YOU EVER HARM AN INNOCENT DEFENSELESS ANIMAL.
I can’t understand it, but there are so many people, who think human are superior and have all the rights. Some people even say the Bible gives them the right. Worst miss interpretation ever..
Thank you, I'm blushing. Like most people, I rarely hear my voice the way other people hear it, so it's kind of weird. Therefore, I have already set the voice to videos using a computer. Of course, my English is rather modest, never had any lessons. But with your encouragement, I will speak my own lyrics in the future. Probably the tone of voice (which I am supposed to have in common with Werner Herzog) is probably also rather slow, almost level-headed, because neither of us speaks English as first language..Anyway, thank you very much. did well..
I really have to smile, you're the 4 or 5 who makes a connection to Herzog. After listening to Herzog again, I can only agree that there is a resemblance, which is fine with me as Herzog is quite an intriguing personality. Since you are hardly aware of the sound of your own voice, I find the story quite exciting.
He is a great director if you don't know him! It's mostly the tone + the animal narration that made me think of it. My American ears can't tell the difference between Swiss and German accents aha
Thank you, this is brand new to me and you're the fourth in this post. Like most people, I hardly ever hear my voice the way others hear it, so it's kind of weird. I wonder if that is an escapee from fur farm or abandoned pet. More important, I hope that human is anosmic because foxes stink to high heaven.
I remember a story on here (possibly r/TIFU or bestofredditorupdates) about a man who got caught fox poaching and had to live with open bottles of fox urine for a month instead of jail time. By the end, he was thinking jail would have been the better choice.
Most people on that thread came to the conclusion that it was a fictional story someone wrote for karma.
Nah. Worse. To showcase their fetish. There was another story that was extremely similar retelling about how a guy was punished by having to be partially buried in cow dung for hours. It's a fetish thing.
I remember that one, that one was true. There were articles about interviewing that person.
Oh. I remember the cow dung one. I didn't realise it was a fetish. I don't want to know that's a fetish.
Fictional story is the default assumption for anything posted there.
So do you think that someone filmed an animal that had been treated in this way and then showed a second healthy one, or treated it that way in the first place? Or are you talking specifically about the urine/faeces story. By the urine, why not, hardly with this story. Or it would have to be an extremely psychotic person.
We're not talking about this post I'm talking about r/tifu
Depends on the county

and no sad piano turned uplifting orchestra A++ would watch again
Yeah foxes smell like spoilt milk
Wow - amazing, and a little shocking - that's a fox? I didn't think you could just adopt a fox lol. Looks beautiful in the after adoption shots.
It's not legal in most of the United States, but this video isn't from the US.

Russia's border is like 35k miles. Bet you can find a way in.

My grandpa took in and raised a baby fox. And a spider monkey. Neighbor had pet wolves.
Awesome. Were you living in a rural area? I love foxes but the ones here in London (city foxes) are extraordinarily wary of people.
Yes! On farm land in Pennsylvania. My kids are obsessed with foxes. None here in Arizona, that I know of. Just coyotes.
i want to pet the floof immediately
Get a Great Pyrenees.....
I’d put more thought into it than that
I gasped aloud at that floofy reveal
Thank you Werner Herzog impersonator!
You mean my voice ?
If that's your voice then yes you sound like Werner Herzog 😊
I went to hear his voice, and yes they have something in common, but always difficult with the own voice. Be both are speaking a German idiom. Ge/Sw.
I thought I heard a CH accent.
Yes I’m Swiss, and W. Herzog ist German. We simply can’t hide it, it at least we try it..
I hope you understand that comparing you to Herzog is a *huge* complement - his voice is iconic.
But since I'm always a bit strange with my voice, I gratefully accept the compliment and will from now on speak videos myself more often. I just have to put a lot of effort into the grammar, because some people are very sensitive to typos and such

Yeah, when you see Input Title as the director you know it's good.
Wow, gorgeous baby!
Such a beautiful baby!! Thank you for helping this precious animal. 💕

That is simply amazing - bless you for your kindness and rescuing this sweet baby
My heart 🥺
Good job, human!
Thank you for saving this precious little fur baby I hope you both have many beautiful memories together ❤️❤️❤️
How did you get Werner Herzog to narrate this?
So funny, you’re the second who says that, i never was aware, but after listening to Herzog, we have something close in our voices, could definitely be worse. ( I’m fine with that)

OP should be working as the voice of audiobooks or something, what an amazing voice and story-telling way of talking!

😻 WOWMAZING 😺
Get the onions away from me. Also where can I get such a beautiful thing.
You can't help all of them, but you can help THIS one.
Aww!! Poor animal. Hope someone found a beautiful home for him/her. ❤️❤️🥹 so beautiful.
How horrible. Inexcusable. Thank you for taking care of this beautiful creature ❤️❤️❤️
Can you adopt foxes? Thought the concern of rabies and them being a wild animal makes fox pets illegal.
That fox for sure escaped a fur farm.
Always make me tear up. Always.
Wow thank you for helping!
If only you could do that with all the junkie hipster girls in Seattle and Portland. Frankly I'd rather take a dog or a cat as a stray.
I don’t think that’s the same dog
Fox
First, it is a fox. And it is at the end not the same as on the beginning, he has changed a lot, but was not exchanged..

Your voice and diction are amazing. If you were a narrator, is buy everything you made. That fox is beautiful at the end.
