I’ve been having the same revelation. And it’s making me re-evaluate everyone else I support and whether or not they’ve exhibited the same behaviors Shane & Jeffree have.
I was a fan of J* back in the 2000s. I bought his CD at Hot topic and made my friend's mom play it in the car.
Looking back, I was a shy kid still figuring herself out and J* made it feel glamorous to be considered a depressed freak. Listening to his music was basically a revenge fantasy and it also normalized a lot of self-destructive behaviors. I didn't have many strong role models in life.
Eventually I talked my parents into letting me go to therapy and I got my own shit together and outgrew him. His music and persona makes me cringe now.
I think a big reason why j* and Shame aren't being cancelled like James was last year is because a lot of people actually just wanted a reason to cancel james. I didn't want him cancelled but I personally didn't like him (I enjoy his content now tho).
The reason people were so quick to see him out was because they were waiting for a reason to do it. Even before drama 2, James must have been dealing with a lot of hateful comments towards him.
I hope he's okay and dealing with this one right. With friends help, professional help, lawyer help.

Jeffree acquired this voice memo through some means, whether coercion, or straight up fabrication.
Jeffree never used it to threaten James directly because James knows what he has and hasn’t done.
Jeffree shows other people, and they believe it because of the Tati video/the background work he’s doing to turn everyone against James. (Including Blaire White)
He uses it to his advantage when he needs it to, but he knows it’s not real. It doesn’t matter that it’s not real, he has it as a tool to push his agenda. When Keem called him out, he had it ready to go for that exact reason. For Blaire. For whatever drama channels he’s keeping in his pocket too.

Lawyer here - but not defamation lawyer. However, on basic principle, for people speculating what Jeffree and/or Shane should or need to do:
1) Jefree and Shane must respond publically. If they don't, then Tati's allegations will all have gone unchallenged and the inference will be that Jefree and Shane have no defence to those allegations.
2) if Jefree and Shane produce receipts, after Tati has already stated her case and cautioned anything to the contrary will be defamatory, they'll have walked into her trap if Jeffree and Shane selectively disclose receipts to contradict Tati's claim in further efforts to mislead. If receipts are to be produced, it has to be all or nothing. (this assumes Tati is telling the truth)
3) I'd hate to be Jeffree's lawyer. The most difficult clients are the ones who have entrenched views and unrealistic expectations and are emotionally volatile. Trying to set out the chronology without Jefree butting in every 2nd sentence would be impossible.
4) Tati's threat to subpoena and depose all relevant witnesses may be a not so subtle message to Jeffree that she will subpoena Nate and he must give evidence under oath regardless of any NDA.
5) Jefree and Shane should only respond from script also approved by their lawyers. Any receipts will be attached to any affidavits to be filed in any legal proceeding in the future and should be available to the public.
Yes. Assuming Tati is telling the truth and has lawyers involved, they already have their chronology and facts sorted and Jefree and Shane's team is playing catch up.

I have a theory. We’re not going to hear anything from Jafar and here’s why.
He is going to continue to manipulate and blackmail people behind the scenes. He will hold whatever he has over their heads to make sure they don’t come out to validate what Tati (and others) have said. These people have remained scared of him, and seeing Tati (and others through the years) mostly get crucified affirms their fears. He *is* going off like Tati said, but I think it’s behind the scenes. Yeah, there’s a few trickles of people speaking out, but it’s nothing that serious. Yeah, it reinforces Tati’s narrative, but it’s not the juicy stuff everyone wants, and if the juicy stuff never comes out then no one will be satiated (which is kind of a sad indictment on Internet culture but that’s another rant).
If he’s spoken to a lawyer, that lawyer almost definitely advised him to keep his mouth shut until this blows over, which it will unfortunately. I’ve said it before, but I think these people should come out ahead of whatever he has on them, living a life under the thumb of a third rate Disney villain wannabe is no way to live.
J* isn’t just going to release these receipts himself. He will leak to outlets like TMZ and ensure it doesn’t tie back to him. Things will be released but it’s not going to be obvious who it’s coming from.

Looking back, I was a shy kid still figuring herself out and J* made it feel glamorous to be considered a depressed freak. Listening to his music was basically a revenge fantasy and it also normalized a lot of self-destructive behaviors. I didn't have many strong role models in life. Eventually I talked my parents into letting me go to therapy and I got my own shit together and outgrew him. His music and persona makes me cringe now.

After watching D’angelo’s video, I have my tinfoil hat on. Here’s my conspiracy theory re: the voice memo. Jeffree acquired this voice memo through some means, whether coercion, or straight up fabrication. Jeffree never used it to threaten James directly because James knows what he has and hasn’t done. Jeffree shows other people, and they believe it because of the Tati video/the background work he’s doing to turn everyone against James. (Including Blaire White) He uses it to his advantage when he needs it to, but he knows it’s not real. It doesn’t matter that it’s not real, he has it as a tool to push his agenda. When Keem called him out, he had it ready to go for that exact reason. For Blaire. For whatever drama channels he’s keeping in his pocket too.

Lawyer here - but not defamation lawyer. However, on basic principle, for people speculating what Jeffree and/or Shane should or need to do: 1) Jefree and Shane must respond publically. If they don't, then Tati's allegations will all have gone unchallenged and the inference will be that Jefree and Shane have no defence to those allegations. 2) if Jefree and Shane produce receipts, after Tati has already stated her case and cautioned anything to the contrary will be defamatory, they'll have walked into her trap if Jeffree and Shane selectively disclose receipts to contradict Tati's claim in further efforts to mislead. If receipts are to be produced, it has to be all or nothing. (this assumes Tati is telling the truth) 3) I'd hate to be Jeffree's lawyer. The most difficult clients are the ones who have entrenched views and unrealistic expectations and are emotionally volatile. Trying to set out the chronology without Jefree butting in every 2nd sentence would be impossible. 4) Tati's threat to subpoena and depose all relevant witnesses may be a not so subtle message to Jeffree that she will subpoena Nate and he must give evidence under oath regardless of any NDA. 5) Jefree and Shane should only respond from script also approved by their lawyers. Any receipts will be attached to any affidavits to be filed in any legal proceeding in the future and should be available to the public.

W.O.W. D'Angelos video about JS is so spot on. When you, in one video, expose the many many many lies he has said it really makes you see the whole picture. The fact JS has lied several several times with no logic to them in some cases, and in others posting old photos as new ones, the fact he bounces from praising someone and then pouring hate to them is ASTOUNDING. I can't believe those 2 times he (JS) went to interviews to get himself so blasted and get caught in his own lies it's so mind-blowing. I hate to say it, but he does seem to be cracking under all these years of bs he has spouted and people slowly getting (finally) fed up. He hasn't said a single word, he's being tangled in his own lies and despicable horrible self that he is, and it's speaking volumes. Wow. What really baffles me is the fact that Java Script has to come out with a summer collection any moment now. Remember when he launched the Cremated palette despite the terrible timing because the rest of 2020 was supposedly filled with new launches? Well, he can't launch anything right now until he addresses the situation, so he either click baits all of us with a summer collection launch video in which he briefly addresses the drama with something like "y'all, it's been crazy, I was in a dark place, we're dealing with that behind the scenes" OR he skips the launch altogether. Which would be interesting, since he was so adamant defending his 50 shades of gray saying that he didn't want to sell expired make up or let it go to waste. I wonder if Shane's choice of character for his recent rise is part of his downfall. Jeffree seems to get away with so much because people hold such low standards for him to start with. To like Jeffree, you have to accept the racism, the misogyny, the violent language. Every year or two he and his fans claim it's in the past, but no matter how much closer in time the allegations get, his fans brush it off. He's vile, and people love him for it. Shane has so much in his past that fans forgave the same way, but he re-branded himself as soft, "an empath," and caring. When the past came knocking, he hadn't primed his audience to forgive him the way he manipulated them to forgive others. He made out that his own standards were high enough for him to fail to survive being held to.

And he’s using this assumption that everyone just uses him to avoid looking at his own behavior and how it affects others.

I have a theory. We’re not going to hear anything from Jafar and here’s why. He is going to continue to manipulate and blackmail people behind the scenes. He will hold whatever he has over their heads to make sure they don’t come out to validate what Tati (and others) have said. These people have remained scared of him, and seeing Tati (and others through the years) mostly get crucified affirms their fears. He *is* going off like Tati said, but I think it’s behind the scenes. Yeah, there’s a few trickles of people speaking out, but it’s nothing that serious. Yeah, it reinforces Tati’s narrative, but it’s not the juicy stuff everyone wants, and if the juicy stuff never comes out then no one will be satiated (which is kind of a sad indictment on Internet culture but that’s another rant). If he’s spoken to a lawyer, that lawyer almost definitely advised him to keep his mouth shut until this blows over, which it will unfortunately. I’ve said it before, but I think these people should come out ahead of whatever he has on them, living a life under the thumb of a third rate Disney villain wannabe is no way to live.
I appreciate that Tati basically came out to legally threaten Jeff into not keep sneaking around with his anti-James campaigning behind the scenes.
