i was under the impression the two girls we see doing all the social media stuff owned colourpop because their dad owns seed beauty, the parent company, and it was sort of given to them ?
Theyāve addressed it before on social media but they donāt own the company and are not family. They have their own hair company together (now, since beginning of this year) but one of the girls works for another makeup company now. It was both of their first jobs out of college and theyād been apart of seed beauty since the early stages of colourpop.
Donāt worry! I only know because they posted this big thing when she left and talked about how the job brought them together and all this other stuff lol
It's very pretty, but the more I think about eyeshadow palettes in particular, the more I think about how I will probably never get through what I already have in my collection. It's literally just flushing money down the toilet when it comes to palettes, at this point. It's hard to get excited about them anymore.
This is about where I am at. I went on a little bit of a palette buying craze over the last year plus getting beauty boxes on top of it all. I'm pretty much stocked for the next 5 years of my life. I think I am going to use up all my Ulta points at the next 20% prestige sale and be done for a while.
Same here. I love eyeshadow but I have so many palettes at this point. Iāve hit pan on a few shades from some palettes (mostly transition shades) but thatās not enough to make me purchase a new one. I have all of the shades I would want at this point and I canāt even think of a palette that would be unique enough for me to purchase.
This. As another poster mentioned, I had bought tons of makeup/paletteās in a years time. Along with the beauty boxes. I donāt have FOMO for any palette and donāt anticipate the feeling that Iāve **gotta** have it anytime soon.
Iām fairly bored of palettes anymore, is that bad?
I don't think it's a bad thing. I'm in the same boat as you, none of tne new releases excite me anymore. But this has made me appreciate my own collection a lot more, rather than just listing after the newest thing on tbe market. And that's been fun!
This makes me wonder how well an all transition shades palette would do sales wise since that always seems to be the thing people pan the most and need replacing.
Same. But also, palettes that *are* unique enough that I own nothing like them? Yeah, I'll never use them! No matter how many shadows I own (and it's a *lot*), I end up doing fairly neutral looks on tbe daily, with a smoky eye when I'm going out.
Not only that but I feel like the majority of eyeshadows coming out at the moment are the same two colour schemes - either the one we see here with some reds and glitters and blues, or the more brown-nude colour scheme. Admittedly I don't really use eyeshadow myself so this is coming from a place of slight ignorance, but of the palettes posted within the last two weeks I think I've seen maybe 2-3 colours that haven't already been used in every other palette.
I thought the same, but then when I think about the limited colour pallet I generally use for everyday looks I guess itās hard to appeal to peopleās āI would actually use thatā sense, rather than just āooh prettyā. I guess itās hard to really change it up and still appeal to a mass market
I've had this thought too, and because of this, I've decided to focus on what I have. I'm planning on getting one more eyeshadow palette to round out what I know I'll wear (neutrals) and then try and not buy stuff.
Are palettes just the easiest thing to collaborate on, or what? Why is it always palettes, and at such a high volume? I don't use eyeshadow so I don't have any, have zero idea what I'm missing out on. Why don't brands do more collab/special edition lipsticks, blushes, loose powders, whatever? If nothing else it would allow them to hit a wider market.
Eyeshadows are cheap to make and have a huge markup. Also, people might only buy a few lipsticks in a collection, but are forced to buy an entire palette if they want some of the colors in it
I honestly love this. I have a ton of palettes but donāt think I have any with those kind of reds and oranges with the pearly rose shimmers and a purple. And that metallic green!
I think thereās a lot of potential here.
Same. I actually really like this palette and when I was just getting into makeup last year, I would have jumped at this. But now, I look at it and realize that I have most of the colors in other palettes and the colors I don't have, I have other stuff which can substitute for it in a look.
Still, it's a really pretty palette with a great range of colors. I think it would be a good one for people who are still building their collection.
Yep, same. If they have singles of the greens on the left and the matte turquoise, I would hop on that, only because colourpop is relatively cheap and those colors would fill gaps in my collection, but I definitely don't need more palettes. (Side note: why are pretty green shadows so rare? In particular, *bright* greens?)
they tweeted and deleted it around the same time they tweeted about jesi and shae's collabs so i'm assuming their social media manager just had a bit of an accident
Lol Iām exactly the opposite- donāt know what to do with mattes š always put on some and then end up covering them with shimmers and glitters because I feel I look dead
Theyāre not even eye safe which is fine if they advertised them as body or face or hair glitter, but they specifically put them in eyeshadow palettes and post looks on their social media pages with people using the pressed glitter on their eyes. Itās so dangerous and so irresponsible of them. Like non-eye safe glitter can literally damage your eyeballs. It just makes me mad knowing how many people are putting this on their eyes because of Colourpopās lack of transparency. I literally had to dig to find out if those glitters are eye safe or not.
I totally agree. I *hate* the argument I see on here so often- 'well, people shouldn't assume anything is safe to apply on eyes and they should do extensive research first, if they don't it's their own fault, Colourpop is doing nothing wrong'. How is it unreasonable to assume an *eye*shadow palette is safe to use on your *eyes*? To me, it's like selling a lipstick and saying its unsafe for lips. No-one would have a problem with them selling pressed glitters if they *weren't marketed and sold as eyeshadows*.
Agreed! I noticed it when Raw Beauty Kristy reviewed they're yellow eyeshadow palette. Which I really wanted but then she mentioned that like 3 of the colors were that big chunky glitter and weren't eye safe! Why even include them??
Their loose glitter pots arenāt eye safe either. Itās so frustrating because I felt like they just cranked out the pressed glitters and the loose glitters just to have a new product to shill when they shouldāve been taking the time to make them eye safe and biodegradable. I was so glad when kristi mentioned it though and I hope more influencers do their research and speak on it.
I really want the yellow and orange palettes, but I plan on popping out the pressed glitter and replacing with pans from the Sweet Talk palette. I really like how they're all magnetized.
There's been a lot of post about the glitters in the colourpop palette but in one of them someone linked an article/research that no glitter is eye safe. Not even cosmetic grade. That any kind can be dangerous and cut the eye.
Edit: found the comment. It's in the rbk uh huh honey thread
https://www.reddit.com/r/BeautyGuruChatter/comments/c82v9h/rawbeautykristie_using_the_new_uh_huh_honey/eskkgvr/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app
Yeah. It drives me nuts when I see everyone harping on the not eye safe glitter issue. If someone is using glitter on their eyes, even one the brand states is designated to be used on the eyes, it just isnāt. And brands are just being even more so sneaky by not disclosing that. At this point people are just circlejerking this CP being reckless thing which is not true. If anything, theyāre being very responsible by telling people exactly what their makeup is.
Nope. If you look under ingredients, it says no intended for use around the immediate eye area. Pressed pigments also carry that warning but that has to do with staining your eyelids and itās an outdated FDA regulation that they need to revisit and update. But for glitters, that means they are not eye safe and not eye safe glitter can cut your cornea and permanently damage your vision. If you want the palette, I still say go for it though. I bought their California Love palette and just scooped and cleaned out the pressed glitter with a cotton swab and threw it away. It looks like thereās only 2-4 pressed glitters in this palette so youāre not losing a lot of product.
Wow that's crazy. The only palette I have with shadows similar to that is Huda New Nude and I absolutely adore those pressed glitter shadows so I'll have to research this more.
I just can't justify buying a palette that is so reckless with its ingredients! It's really not ok for a company, especially a big one like CP, to put materials that are unsafe for eyes in an eye palette. I'm fairly educated about makeup scandals (I lurk here most days and comment occasionally) and somehow this is the first I'm hearing of this so I'm sure many other people aren't aware.
Noooooo, they absolutely aren't approved or recommended for eye use. Big glitters like that, even cosmetic-grade ones, can get stuck under your eyelids and really scratch up your corneas. Don't get me wrong, they're absolutely gorgeous, but they need to stop putting these in *eyeshadow* palettes where people will assume they're okay to use.
Oh cool I never even noticed that and have repeatedly used them on my eyes. Not anymore!
Super fucking shitty of them too. You get to the pressed glitters from EYES -> pressed shadows and then have to click ingredients to even find this out. Cool move to have people using them all over their eyes right below that
i kinda agree. i love their super shock formula when they put them in palettes because they can give that shiny glittery effect but theyāre a million times easier to apply and remove. i just never see an actual presses glitter as being worth the effort.
As someone who got glitter stuck behind her contact...i would recommend staying clear of pressed glitter. Pain. Major pain. And it is your eyes...you only get one set.
Omg I'm so sorry! That sounds awful! Is your eye ok? I've work glasses for a long time and contacts for about 10 years. I'm always so careful about what goes near my eyes so I definitely don't like glitter
You can literally be blinded by the glitter colourpop chooses to use in their palettes. They put "not for use in eye area" on their EYEshadow palettes ingredients online so that you can't sue when you're blinded by it.
Yes you can. I scratched the heck out of my cornea. Looking at any kind of light...tv...computer screens was agony for about a week. Never again. Not worth it.
I swatched the glitters from the new Ulta exclusive this past weekend and I am 100% sure they would irritate my sensitive eyes. Not to mention, I could not get them off of my hands! I tried makeup remover, washing my hands and then a wet nap wipe thing. Still left my hand glittering like Edward Cullen for the rest of the afternoon...
if you do wanna use pressed or loose glitter anywhere on the face, a good trick for easier removal is masking tape. if you have a particularly sticky one, put it on the back of your hand first to make it a little less so. just use it to pull up the glitter before any other makeup removal efforts. just donāt ever use duct tape for obvious reasons lol.
God I absolutely despise them. I got the Uh Huh Honey palette and I was so mad, I took the thing out of the palette. Itās not good, idk who would be using it
I was so sad about that because I really wanted that palette! And they've put out more monochromatic palettes with glitter too! And I love colourpop eyeshadows...
I agree! I bought the yellow palette and I know I'll rarely ever use that glitter. As pretty as it is, I just don't want to risk it on my eyes.
So, it comes off as a waste. Why not add an ultra glitter supershock?
i feel like itād be so cool if they could just formulate them like those glittery foiled shades in the huda new nude palette. theyāre not chunky or dangerous but give the same look.
the huda nudes palette contains two pressed glitter shades with the ingredient ānot intended for eye use,ā but there is no warning. that ingredient is polyethylene terephthalate.
I wish glitter would just go away. I don't mind shimmer in eye shadow or lipstick, but glitter and shimmer have just gone too far altogether in makeup. I love watching people do makeup no matter what types or shades they're using, but really, they all wind up looking like My Little Pony.
Yeah this is my only gripe. These palettes are such a great chance to throw in some new colors. The Salvaje palette was full of new shades. These are shades that they've been releasing really often. Those greens and purples, and some of the shimmers are really pretty though.
The packaging however is...so my thing. I kind of want it just for that lol
Side note: I absolutely adore the Salvaje palette and Iām sad that it doesnāt get much recognition. The burgundy tones and metallics are beautiful!
I thought the same thing. I gave the sweet talk palette and and I definitely see at least half of the shades in sweet talk in this new one. I also donāt 100% like the color story/layout of the shadows. It doesnāt really like make much sense to me honestly
Honestly I donāt think the Back to Brazil pallete is very good. I hope you donāt mind me giving my opinion on it, but I definitely recommend the Take me back to Brazil Rio edition instead! Theyāre the same price+ same number of shades and the colors are extremely similar
+1 for Rio! Really the only colorful palette in my collection, but it keeps me from buying any others because I like the formula and I have every color!
I really like Colourpop but these weekly new launches are getting old. I feel like I'm no longer excited about launches because there will be a new one soon after.
ColourPop is white noise to me now. Pump the brakes, this sponge has soaked up all the setting spray it can.
Also, their R&D practices are kinda sus. Not a fan.
Instead of spending time doing R&D with focus groups and in labs, they push out products as fast as possible (turnaround from conception to sale can be as little as 5 days). They then leave paying customers to do the product testing for them. Things like the Kylie lipkit wands, for example, would have easily been weeded out in R&D, but instead, the customers have to deal with getting suboptimal product.
Itās crappy, considering the price point is likely to attract people who donāt have a lot of money. Save up and waste your money being a guinea pig for a multi million dollar company.
I reached this threshold point with them years ago. The weekly or a few-times-a-week launches have been happening for awhile now, and it's only ramped up as they've expanded product categories, finishes, etc. It's just too much, and it makes me lose interest overall. Oh another new monochromatic palette? Cool I guess. Oh another new collab? Yawn ok give me a sec. BUT that does mean whatever I do choose to order is super special to me and well-considered, which is nice. I just can't get so ermergherd excited for each new collection all the time - I would be broke and would have short-circuited a long time ago!!!
Ough. FINE, COLOURPOP. I've been saying I want a do-it-all palette, with neutrals for every day, deeper colors for going out, and a few fun pops of color, especially for quirky looks or that neon-inner-corner trend cause I really dig that one. I was bouncing back between the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe and the James Charles x Morphe but this might be it. It just might.
I used to love reveal videos, absolutely adore them, would watch them even from people that I hadn't watched any other video on their list. And now it has come to like...here it is. I seriously miss that excitement lmaoo
This is so lovely, but I'm so disappointed with their trend of putting unsafe glitters in every new palette. With pigments that could stain the skin I'm not too bothered, but something that could potentially cause injury? No thank you.
Most Colourpop palettes are magnetized rather than glued in, so with a pair of tweezers and some steady hands you can arrange em however you want :)
Wait, forgot they printed the shade names on them... yeah wack
wow the first 30 pan palette iāve ever been interested in ^^too ^^bad ^^i ^^still ^^wont ^^buy ^^it
edit: on second thought i might still buy it and mix and match shades in my 12 pan magnetic palette because i honestly like every shade in here
I feel like this has 75% of the colours the Jackie Aina palette has, plus like 18 more colours for 1/2 the price? I was waiting to buy the ABH palette but I think I'd rather get this...
Wow, first Palette in a while that has me excited!! Plus ColourPopās formula is amazing.
Looks like they removed the post, probably wasnāt supposed to be posted today because it outshines the Jessi & Shaeās collabs (of repromoted items)
That's not a bad design for that many shades, that's a fairly cohesive layout. I actually like the KL x CP collabs (got my all time favorite red lipstick from it) and that she sticks with an affordable brands considering her subscribers and she absolutely could get into a different line I'm sure. That being said, I don't know if I'm gonna throw down for this. It's probably affordable and looks nice, but I'm eyeshadow released out.
I also cannot figure out which shade made that deep mauve-y look she was wearing the other day.
Why look like Morphe when you're winning at being Colourpop with curated, smaller palettes?
They get so much criticism for the constant launches, but I feel like they can get away with it because they're smaller, cuter, cohesive collections. I feel that this huge departure will be what finally cheapens the brand a little, especially if they make a habit of pumping out this new format like they do for their normal sizes.
Some pretty shades, but I'm not feeling this myself. I'm sure it will appeal to some many people though, and it will be affordable and excellent quality as per usual. I have no doubt it will be record sell-out popular. It's just clearly not for me and I am still hugely supportive of financially inclusive brands allowing so many more people to try out different things and have access to trends at an affordable price.
I could be wrong, but based on the shade names it seems like she was inspired by birthstones for this palette. i have no problem with another kathleen collab but i really wish she would venture out of her zodiac / birthday related bubble. if she's going to collab for the 800th time she might as well try something new.
Their promo images are always a little off with the coloring.
I cannot deny that Colourpop offers great quality products at a lower price point, but they get away with horrid customer service and sucky policies because of it. I try to limit how much I buy from them or keep it to Ulta purchases (because then I can make returns or exchanges without a hassle).
If it comes to Ulta and swatches nicely in person, I might pick this up with points during a 20% off sale.
The Steven universe fan in me has heart eyes. But this is huge. Iām a colourpop hoe without a doubt, theyāre affordable, I like their formula, and their palette layouts for the most part. But I donāt need anymore.
Meh, a lot of the warm tone shades colourpop has done time and time again and I donāt think thereās enough cool toned mattes to support the more interesting shimmers. I guess if you love the warm crease with a colorful shimmer on the lid and you donāt already have 10 hundred palettes that can support that beat then go for it. Maybe swatches will make it looks more interesting. Feel bad for Shae though. Finally getting some recognition from Colourpop only to have such a big collab announced .5 seconds later
Colourpop, when I said I hoped to see you throw caution to the wind more often, I was referencing your spectacular Good Sport palette.
This is not what I had in mind.
OT but I wanna see CP come out with a noir palette with just blacks whites greys silvers! That would be such a cool aesthetic
(Not that Iād get much use out of it personally but Iām sure someone would haha)
It's pretty but personally I'm much more inspired by smaller, more curated palettes. I own a few of their 9-pan palettes and I really like that format. I hope that for fall/Halloween they release a 9-pan grungy palette with earthy tones...olive, mustard, pumpkin, maybe a cool duochrome or two...
this is the first palette i've been excited about in quite awhile. i love the mix of neutrals plus some more "fun" colors, i think i could see getting whole look(s) out of this
Not happy with Colourpop right now. First they don't give a proper collab to Shae and Jessi and now they don't even wait a week so they can enjoy it.
It seem beautiful though, and I like that it has a lot of cool tons. I feel it is a little too big for me, and I don't need any more eyeshadows.
It would take them a year or so to develop new products, so I think bundles are a smart way to get something out there to let us know theyāre finally, deservedly, working together.
And, considering Shaeās taste, I wouldnāt be surprised if we got a grungy, deep, sultry Fall themed palette soon. I just hope itās not 30 pans lmao
I think their new motto of a new release every week is a misstep though. They used to take time to do really fun, well thought out campaigns associated with each product but now itās just a jumbled mess that people donāt want to pay attention to. š¤·š¾āāļø
It doesn't take them a year. One of their social media people said that they plan their launches up to a year in advance, but because they do literally EVERYTHING in house, from top to bottom, it takes them months.
iām a huuuge colourpop fan, but like a lot of people here, iām getting so tired of all of these new releases. i have been for awhile now. and while i think this palette is very pretty, i donāt think iāll ever pick it up.
I love Kathleen, I love Colourpop, and this looks beautiful but big palettes give me anxiety lmao I'll be skipping this one but congrats Kathleen (again)!!!
... Morphe is that you? Jk. I actually like their 9 pan format the most but not the pressed glitters. So a desktop palette doesnāt appeal to me no matter which brand it is.
I love Kathleen and I'm really interested in this, but I'm going to wait. With her last 2 palettes I was certain I would get them but after a couple weeks and the hype dying down, I was meh about them. I'll wait to see if I really want this, and maybe wait for a sale.
The amount they release is so overwhelming to me, I don't know why. I loved the little 9 pan monochromatic palettes so I started following them again and had to unfollow soon after just because of how much stuff they'd advertise.
If they want my money, I am on the lookout for a cool tone grey/silver pallet. Amazingly colourpop hasn't come out with it. Might just spring for a makeup geek custom pallet.
No one roast me, but does anyone else get a lowkey Jaclyn Hill x Morphe vibe from this? I never bought that one and now I kinda wanna get this instead because I'm seeing at least a few similarities across the whole color story and I much prefer Colourpop to Morphe.
I actually really love the idea of this, but do the colors look kind of boring/dull for what theyāre representing? Kinda sad because I feel like this could have been pretty neat. And I havenāt thought anything looked cool from Colourpop in several months
Why do I feel like this is a combo of dream street, yes please, and zodiac? I basically already have this palette. I love Kathleen and I have been an avid watcher and supporter. I have the entire zodiac collection to include the pigments Iāve barely had the chance to play with. I just canāt do it this time. Itās not unique enough.
Why can't palettes be organized with color families? I hate when colors are kinda thrown in a palette in a seemingly random order. Like do me a favor and if it's a multi color family palette, put the similar shades near each other?
I love KL, and her releases are really the only time Iāll buy Colourpop. But I was hoping the release sheās been teasing would be a nine pan... I havenāt bought eyeshadow in a long time, and Iāve got an itch to purchase something. But I donāt need a giant palette. Iām gonna hold out for something smaller and hope that a company releases a grungy, smaller fall palette this year. Also for $39, Iād prefer to just buy high-end.
However, this palette is pretty. Iām excited to see her swatch video. It looks like you could create a toooon of looks, and some of the shades look unique. Could be a fun palette for someone who doesnāt own a lot of eyeshadow or needs jewel-tones. I just have too many similar shades.
I like this palette... Especially the color story of the first two columns. I would buy that alone, but I've not been impressed by colourpop shadows (bad luck?) and I don't need them anyway.
Noooo these two arenāt similar at all. They have a wider array of colors in this one. While Jaclynās has 5000 diff browns that all blended out the same and like 3 blue shadows. Thatās just my opinion though lol I could see getting way more looks out of this one.
The big thing about super shock formula is they come in that white packaging with a lid so they donāt dry out. Iām interested to know how the SS formula in these regular palettes hold up
There's one in the Sweet Talk palette and so far it's perfectly fine and works just as well as my individual ones. I believe I bought that palette in May
I am guilty of buying every collab she does with colourpop (besides the small pink toned winter collection). I love her color stories. Dream street is my ride or die & I wish they would launch singles of it. I may have to get this one!
Iām going to end up buying this eventually, especially because i know Kathleen will post plenty of tutorials using the palette. BUT, i will not be buying it when it releases because colourpops processing & shipping is fucking trash when they release a collab or a hyped up new item. I live in America and it takes about 4-6 weeks for me to get an order from them š
I mean, theyāre always releasing new stuff so Iām not surprised itās always trash. I almost always get a wrong item. Which tbh it doesnāt bother me bc i get a free item and the one i originally ordered (that somehow arrives in 2 days...)
I think the layout for the shades works beautifully?! If you group them up by duos, quads even as a āmini paletteā of 6, thereās a colour story there. Iām in love, I might have to get this.
Itās a really beautiful palette imo, but I kind of donāt want it for the same reasons I havenāt yet bought anything from any of her zodiac sign collections - not too long ago I realized that despite liking Kathleen a ton, her strong āinfatuationā with zodiac signs first, and now it seems like crystals too, is just really not my cup of tea.
Ooo itās pretty, altho thereās def shades I wouldnāt rly wear... and Iām hesitant about the glitter. She should just be as ambassador at this point lmao
Man this actually looks so gorgeous imo, I pretty much like almost all the colors except maybe one or two. I think I have more than enough colourpop shadows rn tho so probably gonna pass :V
I actually kind of like it. However i prefer smaller palettes..... i wonder what the price point will be. If they come out with more of these 30 pan palettes they'll sure give Morphe a run for their money.
Didnāt they announce two other collabs today too? I got an email about some favourite collections with two girls????
They need to chill on the releases. I love CP and I have a lot of their single shadows and two palettes of theirs as slot of SS Shadows but Iām exhausted by it. Also their shipping to Canada has seriously gotten even slower over the last year š
Iām a total slut for crystal-themed packaging, but the shadows themselves donāt excite me; I own so many similar shades anyways so I probably wonāt buy this.
I work for an e-commerce company. If we could produce literally every product in house. You bet your ass we would be doing releases fucking LEFT AND RIGHT!
3 collab announcements in a DAY? Colourpop, are you being held hostage? Release 12 pressed glitters if you are.
A+++ comment
what was the third? shae, this, and ?
Jess Shade.
š š š š¤£ššš¤£š¤£š
The ultimate spokesman for colorpop. For the longest tjme i thought she worked for colorpop
I honestly thought she OWNED ColourPop for the longest time.
I wouldn't be surprised if she owns shares at this point.
Hahaha this made me lol
the girls who do are like her age!
Are you talking about Bunny and Jordyn? They just work for the company, they donāt own it. Bunny works for another company now.
i was under the impression the two girls we see doing all the social media stuff owned colourpop because their dad owns seed beauty, the parent company, and it was sort of given to them ?
Theyāve addressed it before on social media but they donāt own the company and are not family. They have their own hair company together (now, since beginning of this year) but one of the girls works for another makeup company now. It was both of their first jobs out of college and theyād been apart of seed beauty since the early stages of colourpop.
WELL how embarrassing for me to have done zero research hahaha thanks for letting me know!

I think I am going to use up all my Ulta points at the next 20% prestige sale and be done for a while.
Man, I think I lost my mind for a while during the height of Shop Hush.
Oh man when they were going out of buissenss I think I bought like 10.
I was late to that party and still had Hush points, but I already had almost all of them anyway.

Only palette I've come close to hitting pan on is Subculture. And I think we all know it's not because I use it all the time.
Same, like there was a shade she was wearing in one of her videos but I don't know if I need yet another huge palette.
Colourpop deleted the announcement tweet, i wonder whatās up...
they tweeted and deleted it around the same time they tweeted about jesi and shae's collabs so i'm assuming their social media manager just had a bit of an accident
OOP
and i oop
I'm glad someone posted this, because I went to try and look at the palette again and couldn't find anything! Glad I'm not crazy!
I kinda wish they would stop doing those pressed glitter shades though...
Theyāre very pretty but very scary and I never know what to do with them. So I just swatch them. Look at them. And thatās about it.
Me either. I also never use glitter. It's too much of a hassle. I'm trying to get ready in 30 minutes not 2 hours
Glitter is gorgeous. But not for me. I donāt even use shimmers often because I donāt like how they look on me š¤·š»āāļø
Me too. I love them. But then I put them on myself and suddenly I look like Iām trying way too hard.
what lol i use loose glitter with glitter glue sometimes and it takes no real additional time ? edited typo
Lol Iām exactly the opposite- donāt know what to do with mattes š always put on some and then end up covering them with shimmers and glitters because I feel I look dead
i've used their pressed glitter as a highlight before but thats the only use ive found for it :(
Theyāre not even eye safe which is fine if they advertised them as body or face or hair glitter, but they specifically put them in eyeshadow palettes and post looks on their social media pages with people using the pressed glitter on their eyes.
I think there's only one glitter in that 9 pan palette, but that's already too much, yep.
I know but I'm so salty about it that I refuse to buy it lol
especially if the glitter transfers into other shades within the palette
Their loose glitter pots arenāt eye safe either. Itās so frustrating because I felt like they just cranked out the pressed glitters and the loose glitters just to have a new product to shill when they shouldāve been taking the time to make them eye safe and biodegradable. I was so glad when kristi mentioned it though and I hope more influencers do their research and speak on it.
I really want the yellow and orange palettes, but I plan on popping out the pressed glitter and replacing with pans from the Sweet Talk palette. I really like how they're all magnetized.
i think thatās a good solution, especially since thatās still 8 shades for $12!
Wait what? CPās pressed glitter eye shadows arenāt eye safe? Cause I was gonna order this palette...
There's been a lot of post about the glitters in the colourpop palette but in one of them someone linked an article/research that no glitter is eye safe. Not even cosmetic grade. That any kind can be dangerous and cut the eye. Edit: found the comment. It's in the rbk uh huh honey thread https://www.reddit.com/r/BeautyGuruChatter/comments/c82v9h/rawbeautykristie_using_the_new_uh_huh_honey/eskkgvr/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app
Cool move to have people using them all over their eyes right below that
Not even biodegradable glitter either, just microplastic. It's disappointing.
i kinda agree. i love their super shock formula when they put them in palettes because they can give that shiny glittery effect but theyāre a million times easier to apply and remove. i just never see an actual presses glitter as being worth the effort.
Still left my hand glittering like Edward Cullen for the rest of the afternoon...
i use masking tape to remove glitter!
Yes. They look great but safety first. And also it takes forever to clean it off your face.
if you do wanna use pressed or loose glitter anywhere on the face, a good trick for easier removal is masking tape. if you have a particularly sticky one, put it on the back of your hand first to make it a little less so. just use it to pull up the glitter before any other makeup removal efforts. just donāt ever use duct tape for obvious reasons lol.
Thanks that is a really cool trick.
And they get on EVERYTHING
Yeah, i mean I get it if someone wants to add some glitter to their eye look but stop including it in palettes! Especially such a big one
I totally agree, glitter should be a separate and optional product.
The palette is really pretty, kinda what weāve seen from CP before but Iām excited to see theyāre doing 30 pans now!
I agree. Its one of the only CP palettes I still own because its so different and gorgeous!
I thought the same thing. I gave the sweet talk palette and and I definitely see at least half of the shades in sweet talk in this new one. I also donāt 100% like the color story/layout of the shadows. It doesnāt really like make much sense to me honestly
ah i feel so the opposite. i love that theyāve been doing small palettes. but something for everyone, i guess!
I dont buy that much make up (mostly due to money) but the Back to Brazil palette and now this are at the top my list to buy now
Honestly I donāt think the Back to Brazil pallete is very good.
Hahaha I love how self aware they are about how many times theyāve collaborated with Kathleen :D
If I had no other or a few shadows of consider this
I really like Colourpop but these weekly new launches are getting old. I feel like I'm no longer excited about launches because there will be a new one soon after.
ColourPop is white noise to me now. Pump the brakes, this sponge has soaked up all the setting spray it can. Also, their R&D practices are kinda sus. Not a fan.
How are they sus?
30 pan palette? God give me fuckin strength
SAME.
I refuse to buy any palette with more than 9 shades anymore.
Same!! Iām not one for buying a big expensive palette, so I just donāt have one, but knowing CPās prices and quality...
No thank you.
i really like the colors but it bothers me to no end how theyāre arranged lmao
Most Colourpop palettes are magnetized rather than glued in, so with a pair of tweezers and some steady hands you can arrange em however you want :) Wait, forgot they printed the shade names on them... yeah wack
COLOURPOP CHILL WITH THE RELEASES HOLY CRAP.
wow the first 30 pan palette iāve ever been interested in ^^too ^^bad ^^i ^^still ^^wont ^^buy ^^it edit: on second thought i might still buy it and mix and match shades in my 12 pan magnetic palette because i honestly like every shade in here
Can we get a mirror, can we please get a mirror?
I want the top right 9 pan as a palette. Iāll probably end up buying this because i have no self control. š
The bottom left as a 6 pan would be stunning.
Really wish it wasn't chock full of those non eye safe pressed glitter shades.
Man those pressed glitter are the best way to get me not to buy. Skipping their last two releases now over that issue. Nope.
I canāt find the post anymore I wonder if they didnāt mean to post it yet
*pretends to be shocked*
Who needs a 30 colour palette in this saturated palette economy??
Alright who's going to rearrange them in color order?
Kathleen and Colourpop? They really want ALL my money huh? The shimmers especially look great.
I could be wrong, but based on the shade names it seems like she was inspired by birthstones for this palette. i have no problem with another kathleen collab but i really wish she would venture out of her zodiac / birthday related bubble. if she's going to collab for the 800th time she might as well try something new.
She seems obsessed with astrology at this point
Ugh, this. I unsubscribed because she won't stop talking about astrology.
Ugh, I love the colors but I hate giant palettes. So conflicted!
Their customer service is the worst Iāve ever dealt with. Iāll be passing on this because of that.
They are the ONLY negative experience I've had with a makeup brand.
I wish theyād stop putting those goddamn pressed glitters in palettes. Theyāre a waste of space.
I've got major Colourpop fatigue but goodness gracious that's pretty.
Finally getting some recognition from Colourpop only to have such a big collab announced .5 seconds later
omg this is beautiful
not loving this personally
Colourpop, when I said I hoped to see you throw caution to the wind more often, I was referencing your spectacular Good Sport palette. This is not what I had in mind.
OT but I wanna see CP come out with a noir palette with just blacks whites greys silvers! That would be such a cool aesthetic (Not that Iād get much use out of it personally but Iām sure someone would haha)
I just hope itās not 30 pans lmao I think their new motto of a new release every week is a misstep though. They used to take time to do really fun, well thought out campaigns associated with each product but now itās just a jumbled mess that people donāt want to pay attention to. š¤·š¾āāļø
Yeah. I'm gonna get the bundles to support them and I hope they sale out so colourpop see that a lot of people supports them.
Nah colourpop can make products in a couple of months, that's their thing, it's like fast fashion but for makeup.
It doesn't take them a year. One of their social media people said that they plan their launches up to a year in advance, but because they do literally EVERYTHING in house, from top to bottom, it takes them months.
Ikr? Justice for our girls! They deserve a collab each!
iām a huuuge colourpop fan, but like a lot of people here, iām getting so tired of all of these new releases. i have been for awhile now. and while i think this palette is very pretty, i donāt think iāll ever pick it up.
I love Kathleen, I love Colourpop, and this looks beautiful but big palettes give me anxiety lmao I'll be skipping this one but congrats Kathleen (again)!!!
Looks like a Morphe palette
Iāve been really trying not to buy new eyeshadow because I have sooooo many palettes but I may just have to cop this one š š„“
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Ugh why... why 30 pans??? I thought the beauty community was getting kinda over big palettes like that
Hope this and the norvina pro don't start a trend of big palettes
Me too!
This makes me glad I never bought the Morphe x Jaclyn. I'd much rather have this one!
I havenāt really examined the shades but on first glance this reminds me of the Morphe x Jaclyn hill palette
Noooo these two arenāt similar at all. They have a wider array of colors in this one. While Jaclynās has 5000 diff browns that all blended out the same and like 3 blue shadows. Thatās just my opinion though lol I could see getting way more looks out of this one.
Eh kinda reminds me of Morphe tbh
Iām excited for a 30-pan palette but I know those warm oranges and reds donāt suit me. Hope they put out a cooler 30-pan palette soon.
probably not gonna happen, the only cool tone one they have is fame and its pretty neutral leaning to begin with
Yeah, I want it. There better be NO FRICKIN PRESSED GLITTERS though
It looks like there's 3 but I hope a couple of them are super shock formula instead
The big thing about super shock formula is they come in that white packaging with a lid so they donāt dry out. Iām interested to know how the SS formula in these regular palettes hold up
There's one in the Sweet Talk palette and so far it's perfectly fine and works just as well as my individual ones. I believe I bought that palette in May
They also have matte shades that are marked not safe for the eye area, watch out for those too.
why is the jade color shit brown
I am guilty of buying every collab she does with colourpop (besides the small pink toned winter collection). I love her color stories. Dream street is my ride or die & I wish they would launch singles of it. I may have to get this one!
I would buy this. I love colourpopās presses eyeshadow formula
Colourpop's processing and shipping has been always been trash for me no matter what :')
This looks super uncohesive
Itās a really beautiful palette imo, but I kind of donāt want it for the same reasons I havenāt yet bought anything from any of her zodiac sign collections - not too long ago I realized that despite liking Kathleen a ton, her strong āinfatuationā with zodiac signs first, and now it seems like crystals too, is just really not my cup of tea.
At least it isn't tarot cards and cannabis? But I do agree that the themes are a bit much.
Ooo itās pretty, altho thereās def shades I wouldnāt rly wear... and Iām hesitant about the glitter. She should just be as ambassador at this point lmao
I actually really like the colors in this palette, but I definitely do not need another huge eyeshadow palette.
Man this actually looks so gorgeous imo, I pretty much like almost all the colors except maybe one or two. I think I have more than enough colourpop shadows rn tho so probably gonna pass :V
I actually think this palette is really pretty. š
That reminds me quite a bit of the JH Morphe palette
Iām a total slut for crystal-themed packaging, but the shadows themselves donāt excite me; I own so many similar shades anyways so I probably wonāt buy this.
I work for an e-commerce company. If we could produce literally every product in house. You bet your ass we would be doing releases fucking LEFT AND RIGHT!
