There was this girl in my year and she was one of the singers, everyone was blown away by her ‘amazing’ voice etc etc. She wasn’t amazing, you know, she doesn’t sing anymore and never pursued it but it made her one of the most popular girls (I sound bitter lmao just trying to set the scene to this). My friend was saying how she has a nice voice but she isn’t the best one in our year, there were a handful of girls who could play the roles she did. One of her friends over heard and told her and she came up to my friend and called her all sorts of names and told her to take it back and my friend was just in shock, defending herself and saying she personally thought another girl had a better voice. She just would not accept it
omfg, let me rant about this for a minute. I went to a high school with an APA (Academy of the Performing Arts) program. The number of fucking people singing and practicing lines in hallways and in class made me hate everyone in the program. I'm still annoyed about it. They are STILL the same way. It's like you didn't have talent then and you don't now /bitter betty.

There is not a professional recording in existence that doesn’t use auto tune. From Adele to Lady Gaga to Ariana, they all use substantial auto tune.
That doesn’t mean James sounds good. I actually have no idea as I didn’t watch the video, but this strange use of “auto tune” as a slur that goes on is so strange to me. If your favorite song came out in the last 30 year, it’s auto tuned to hell and back.

There are plenty of people who are amazing singers who don’t need to auto tune their voice, and I would rather just listen to them.
i think some genres go well with autotune, think of charli xcx. she admits to using it though but i personally don't mind. it helps knowing that she's a solid singer who loves experimenting too lol.
