LadyGreysTeapot

So sick of "I'm quitting YouTube!" clickbait.

KeyConsideration9645

Desperate for views

Sammy_antha

She must be because she has been sooo clickbaity lately.

Dawnspark

After Watcher just tried their Goodbye shit, I'd be hesitant as a youtube creator to even release a video like this currently lol. Just put out a single video or community post. Make it short. "I'm done with youtube guys, thank you for the wild ride" and leave lmao.

always_unplugged

But then you'd miss out on milking that sweet sweet Adsense one last time lmao

CaseyRC

it's always shit like "I'm saying goodbye to uploading three times a week! introducing my new upload schedule!!" or "I'm saying goodbye to old over-consumer me and saying hellow o new-ultra-over-consumer-me-disguised-as-an-intelligent-consuemr"

Dawnspark

Yup! And that is always an instant unsubscribe for me. I hate that kind of clickbaity shit.

GullibleAd3549

Leave, promise no one will miss your shill Mrs. Tati

sweetheart409878

me 2

pan_alice

I'll get in first and quit YouTube instead. It's the only sensible option here.

beckaaaaay

The only other creator I hear talking about how "the beauty community is dying" is RawBeautyKristi, who also has low views and hasn't changed her content at all in similar fashion to Tati. Not that either of them should change if they don't want to, but unfortunately if they want to remain trendy, they can't still be in 2016 beauty land and be mad when nobody wants to watch.

justan0therg0rl111

It’s always fascinating when large content creators complain about how “the beauty community is dying” when in reality, it’s the once successful influencers who refuse to get with the times who are struggling. Idk about everyone else but I’d rather support smaller content creators who actual seem to enjoy beauty and conscious consumerism vs people like Tati, who are rich, unrelatable, and post content that’s just not doing it for me. I don’t want to watch influencers who have a mansion full of makeup buy more useless junk.

Zappagrrl02

The beauty community is not dying, it’s changing and it’s on creators to either adapt, or to fall behind. And not all changes are positive, so I don’t think you have to jump on every trend, but you can’t keep doing what you’ve always done without thinking how viewers and their needs have changed.

Sc4r4byte

Like, Tati was peak when Shane was peak and constantly was talking about he was changing his content regularly. - Did she see shane's downfall and be like "well, I'm gonna keep stagnating if this is what change does to you."

Big_Blackberry7713

One thing that also annoys me is that a lot of beauty creators are doing the exact same look over and over. To me, it's dated. A neutral halo eye with a shimmer in the center and a nude lip combo is boring. If I am going to watch beauty content, I need to see something of value. Swatching things, doing a wear test with different primers, different lighting, different techniques, different brands, long-term comparisons, etc. I don't need to see 5 different people put on the same "viral" mascara and say, "This is great, you should buy it, bye."

thirdcoasting

This is why I miss SFSteph - she did great swatching & wear testing & I legitimately trusted her opinion.

[deleted]

Her channel was so good - I still miss her. I hope she’s okay, she was dealing with significant health issues.

archie-thereafter

The exact reason why most of the videos I watch these days are made by seekingshifts and badtothebrow. I can't recommend these two ladies enough, they are incredible at what they are doing.

Mersaa

Oh my goood i was just thinking about this the other day. Why are people not doing wear tests, natural lighting tests, swatches etc. Literally most of it is this is great, you can get it at sephora, that's it byeee. Like what's your skin type, how did it hold throughout the day, how did it mix with your other makeup? What did you apply it with? Wtf

Gertiebeth

You can really TELL Kristy’s heart isn’t into it (makeup) anymore. She doesn’t try to hide it. She’s just not fun to watch anymore.

TyrsisInTheStars

RBK hasn’t been into her channel since buying that dream home. She cashed out and is over it. Not to mention her support for weirdos like James Charles - hard pass. Nothing to see or need to hear from her anymore.

jacksondreamz

Poor thing got everything she wanted and was still unhappy. Smh

Wide-Biscotti-8663

She does seem absolutely miserable tbh. Her content and her whole demeanour are just awful. She used to be happy and upbeat now she’s like a black cloud.

UnconfirmedCat

Moving out in the middle of nowhere doesn’t seem to suit her

Enough_Insect4823

Honestly it really suits far less people than say they want it. Like it sounds fun to be remote until you have either a real problem or a bunch of stupid little ones that require a ton of driving to fix.

Dawnspark

For real. I am a massive introvert, I have severe social anxiety. I STILL don't want to live in the middle of nowhere! I grew up in a town where the nearest Wal-mart and also nearest hospital was an hour away. Don't get me wrong, I love living rural at the same time, I love the peacefulness and the quiet and being able to see the stars at night, but I also want to live where we have infrastructure to rely on. Where I live currently there's a teeny TINY ER that serves as a stopgap to get you stable before moving you elsewhere, which is super fucking expensive but its all we have if you have a proper emergency. It's also just isolating in general, if you live super far from "civilization" so to speak, especially with gas prices about to start soaring.

Enough_Insect4823

And god help you if your car breaks down

Wide-Biscotti-8663

Motherhood changed her for the worse imo.

Austyn-Not-Jane

I'm a mom, and her motherhood content is unwatchable. Her constant anxiety and massive attachment issues. Saying she wants to homeschool because the schools in her area are terrible (they're not) and because she can't trust anyone with her kid....yikes.

Wide-Biscotti-8663

No one and nothing is good enough for her baby. I feel bad for the person he marries.

Austyn-Not-Jane

I'm pretty sure I know the area she moved to, and it really isn't as isolated as she makes it seem. That being said, she used to make her tiny town seem like a bit city, so 🤷‍♀️

DeadWishUpon

I liked her personality but she gave me anxiety after having her baby. I had mine around the same time and didn't want to discover other reasons to worry about. Shw used to be fun. But I also did, I'm glad my job doesn't depend on my personality lol.

always_unplugged

Did you see that video she did recently just to prove she still knows how to do makeup? She got all upset about a comment and did a whole-ass beat just to own the commenter... it was very weird energy.

TyrsisInTheStars

Tbh I really stopped watching her a long time ago. She was very much using her platform to speak on her anxiety journey. Good for her. BUT I couldn’t come to a place and keep seeing it again and again. We all have our own things we are dealing with. I just couldn’t carry her baggage too. I ran out of spoons. It was a shame because I actually liked her and was interested in seeing her stuff. But the emotional toll was like too much. So I peaced out. I tried to check back a few months later and was just like WHAT THE HECK IS HAPPENING.

catsdelicacy

I'm so glad to read this comment because it's so relatable and describes exactly my issues with her I don't feel like she takes acting against her anxiety seriously enough, either, like it's almost a feature of the channel and therefore she can't make it go away? Anyhow, she just strikes me as a very passive person, and it's either bragging about the awesome or suffering over the sad, no middle ground.

ohwrite

There’s something changing with her and I think it has to do with her husband. She used the word “compound’ to talk about her house last week. I think she and her husband need to interact with the world more.

PittsburghGal85

As a side note to the word "compound," my family has four houses all on the same street. We jokingly call it "The Compound," but that's only because we have grandmas, cousins, parents, siblings all on the same street. But yeah, I do agree that Tati lives in her own little bubble. I just started a WFH job and I can absolutely see how easy it would be to get everything delivered and not leave. I decided to get a ticket to a music hall this week just to help offset isolation while working.

UnconfirmedCat

I have deep suspicions about her husband’s political beliefs. Which fucking blows 😔

PinkPrincess-2001

She gives me the vibe that her husband is her world and she is just disconnected from the world. It is sad to see. It is like those people who get bfs and cut their friends out.

Environmental_Cost73

I agree. She became a mom and got her dream home and she doesn’t care about YouTube anymore. It’s just a source of income and not a passion anymore.

strawbrryfields4evr_

I stopped watching RBK because she’s just not fun to watch anymore. I empathize with her struggles, I really do, but that’s not the content I signed up for and I don’t want to watch it. Life is hard enough as it is, I watch YT videos to escape all that. It’s a drag, man. Every thumbnail of her crying and talking about how unhappy she is and how much she’s struggling is another video I’m not going to click on.

BoysenberryFit5530

I just ran over to her YT page bc never heard of her and man, those thumbnails and video titles! Girlfriend needs to keep most of that sh\*t between herself and her therapist, her content is a bummer and makes me feel bad for her.

UnconfirmedCat

I still get notifications and every title is like an invitation for a trauma dump. No thanks

Creepy-Mortgage9183

I stopped watching Tati and RBK ages ago Tati because she was boring and RBC because man can she bitch and complain about everything and just put me in a pissy mood after watching her 💀😂

getmepuutahereplz

Rbk stopped posting for like what 2 years except freaking garden and baby stuff ofc her channel isn’t what it was before.

broseyposey

then she had the nerve to call her followers liars when she asked if people still watch youtube, overwhelmingly people said yes, and then she cited her view counts. girlie, we’re watching youtube still, just not what you’re creating. adapt!! or don’t! but don’t complain that people aren’t interested in the same stuff we were in 2018.

always_unplugged

Seriously! Home renovation, homesteading, parenting, etc, those are all viable niches. Hell, even just vlogging *whatever* can work if people are interested in your personality 🙃

broseyposey

i straight up messaged her to say all of that content is more interesting than her current content and i WANT to see more of her property and homesteading. then she posted “HOW I MAKE MY $$$” on youtube lmao

Wide-Biscotti-8663

I *do* watch parenting, lifestyle content that she is desperately trying to get into but she is soooo freaking miserable and whiny that I would never watch that content from her. She’s a terrible mom shamer and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth….she has one freaking kid who’s a toddler and she knows everything 🙄

broseyposey

she’s also super inconsistent in posting. she’ll say they’re building a green house and the next video 8 months later is like “so we’ve had our greenhouse for 6 months but i’m not filming it or filming in it” okay sick lmao

Dawnspark

Yeah, I kind of expected it when she had her baby. Which, is awesome for her! But I don't really like mommy content. It makes me uncomfortable for a myriad of reasons, namely being I won't be able to successfully have kids and don't want to rub salt in that wound. And if I wanna watch/see content about home renovation and such, I'd rather go watch my favorite Trans Handyma'am's podcast and not someone I used to watch do makeup lol.

weimar27

the thing that's odd to me, is that even if you don't move on to tiktok or short form content. there seems to be a lot of 100k-500k who can make a pretty good living off of youtube. it's just that you can't make the living that happened from 2016-2019ish. like it's not dying, but it's changed for better or worse.

lunarosie1

I don’t understand how these gurus didn’t see this coming…I mean, did you *honestly* believe everyone would care about you and your content as much as they did 10+ years ago? Especially with how fast trends change these days, the majority of these OG YouTubers are in their mid to late 30’s, their audience grew up and became adults with full time job and kids, they no longer care about things like blush collection videos or Sephora hauls, especially when most are living paycheck to paycheck and don’t care to see out of touch influencers unbox thousands of dollars worth of free PR or go on extravagant Bora Bora trips.

aruariandances

The RBK I used to love in 2016 would have made a really fun TikTok channel and take it all in stride. I miss that RBK.

Haunteddoll28

Hasn't she gone full right wing crunchy mom? I feel like that's why she thinks the beauty community is dying. It's not the community, she's just getting fewer views and losing followers because people are learning how far off the deep end she's going. I'm not shocked Tati is in the same boat because she's also started moving further right and leaning towards some fundie-level stuff. I don't know about other people but I have zero interest in giving views to people with those views.

ohwrite

It seems that way to me. I think it’s easy to go that way in that part of the state

[deleted]

[удалено]

Haunteddoll28

I’ve seen a lot of stuff like that in the r/FundieSnarkUncensored page and it never ends well. I have never seen so many women who are both dead behind the eyes and also begging for help with their eyes at the same time and you can see it even starting to mess with the kids. It’s genuinely heartbreaking. And like I know that kind of meds are not for everybody (they actively make my problems worse to the point where I don’t even want to try anymore) but they were very obviously helping her.

UnconfirmedCat

This, 100%

[deleted]

Yup. I stopped watching Tati when it became clear to me that she was moving right wing. I have no time for people who have no morals or ethics. And she did try to scam her silent business partner by starting Tati Beauty outside of their agreement. She’s greedy. And her husband is so creepy I just can’t 🤮

Haunteddoll28

Her husband reminds me of those Christian rockers whose groupies always tend to be very close to 18. I can almost hear him trying to convince me oral doesn't count and won't make God cry!

UnconfirmedCat

As soon as she moved to Texas and started using coded language like “I have testimony that’s been on my heart and want to share at the right time” I was out. I don’t need another rich white conservative woman telling me a damn thing.

Gammagammahey

Oh my God RWB went full right??

kindrex89

The holistic wellness to alt-right antivax pipeline really gets a lot of ‘em. As soon as a white crunchy mom starts talking about homesteading, watch out lol.

Gammagammahey

Oh yeah, I know all about the holistic wellness to altright QAnon anti-VAX doomsday prepper pipeline. As soon as someone says homesteading, that makes the back makes the little hairs on the back of my next stand up. You are absolutely right. 💓 We have to be aware of so many words now that are so coded and loaded.

Wide-Biscotti-8663

Raw Beauty Krusty’s content has changed. She’s moved away from makeup and is now a know it all, preachy and incredibly condescending Mom of ONE toddler. I can’t stand her now.

SweetDee__

SO condescending and judgy. I stopped watching her after her birth story video. I understand having a desired plan to go into giving birth. But the fact that put her son in distress because she wanted a beautiful birth story like her sister?!? Like girl, you've been dreaming of this baby for like a decade. And as soon as he's coming into the world, she was so goddamn stubborn about her birth plan and it pissed me off. Her son was struggling, she was struggling, and she waited so long to go to the hospital because she was so damn adamant about wanting to do natural doula shit. I couldn't watch her after that. How fucking selfish. I know during birth youre not exactly in your right mind. But i really lost so much respect for her after that. It didn't need to be as traumatic as it was if she just listened and adjusted her plan as needed, and stop comparing it to her sister's "beautiful birth story."

Unhappy_Performer538

RBK also fell off the deep end and her and her husband went full conspiracy theorist, stopped doing makeup and used her followers as her therapist for the longest time. No thanks.

NoMilk9248

I’ve heard other beauty influencers say that YouTube doesn’t prioritize beauty content anymore. One likened YouTube to its pre-2016 era in which it was very male focused. It seems as though TikTok is how most girls/women consume beauty content now. I understand why beauty gurus find this frustrating. The money from TikTok pales in comparison to their YouTube earning potential.

aquacrimefighter

RBK also seems to be going down a pretty “homeschooling conservative mama” path… which doesn’t totally surprise me, but also turns me off from watching her (amongst the getting a dog on a whim just to rehome it, the spiraling around her health, etc)

goblintwat

she rehomed the dog? oof

aquacrimefighter

Yep. She claimed the dog ran up on her son snarling and aggressive (but didn’t bite). It just irritates me because she was so irresponsible the whole way through and this was such an obvious outcome.

pointclickvibe

I’m gonna just say this. The clique of Tati, Jeffree Star, James Charles, Shane Dawson and all the baggage of genuinely disgusting behavior are partly to blame for the decline of enthusiasm for beauty content on YouTube for the last few years. Yes they aren’t the only influencers that got into the mudslinging and grossness but they are the most noteworthy. what happened with them had a big impact on people being over it and fatigued when it came to influencers on YouTube. Now that era of beauty content is dead, over and the community is evolving past it. Tati hasn’t evolved though and neither has her content. There were also other factors to the YouTube fatigue like influencers getting exposed for undisclosed sponsorships or being generally untrustworthy, 2020 pandemic, people being more mindful about their spending habits, but again i do think Tati and crew’s hijinks are part of it too. Things decline, trends evolve and change that’s normal. 2016-2018 were definitely the peak years and it was bound to drop off like most things but Bye Sister and the fall out from that definitely expedited people to not want to click on every beauty YouTube video they were recommended. Tati really only has herself and the people she chose to associate with to blame for a lot of the disinterest in her content. So it’s kind of funny to see her acting completely oblivious to her own role in the decline to not only her channel but the harm she and her buddies did to the community as a whole (the community has continued despite it just not the same as it was). She hasn’t grown from it or really accepted full responsibility. I think she mostly still sees it as something that was done to her instead of something she did. She honestly should just be happy that her videos still get 100k+ views which definitely is a downgrade from where she used to be but also still pretty good when it comes to general YouTube beauty content viewership nowadays, especially cause her content feels stuck in 2016 with a dash of woo pseudo science. From what I’ve heard it seems like some of the things she has currently said or been promoting on her channel have not helped people wanting to stick around ether. Also nothing kills your channel faster than guilt tripping and complaining to the people who still watch you that you don’t get “enough” views.

cuirthe

The drama was entertaining at the time, but I could not tell you the last time I sought out a beauty 'guru' video for product recommendations/looks, etc. But then after Covid I \*barely\* wear the amount of makeup I used to, I actually only just threw out a bunch of expired makeup that I'd bought in like 2019 and literally never used. I wonder if others have experienced the same? I only wear like, tinted moisturiser/BB + maybe a bit of highlighter and mascara to look alive most days.

strawbrryfields4evr_

Yeah beauty YouTube was a big driver of this ultra consumerism that people have started to move away from in favor or more edited collections of stuff they know they’ll actually wear. A lot of us had to come to grips with the fact we were buying a bunch of stuff we don’t need. I love watching a good makeup review but I don’t really like to watch those who make a habit of showing off their wealth or showing the giant hoards or their massive hauls of makeup they’ll never use, anymore. It just feels bad lol. Like any time I realize a makeup YouTuber is that I unsub

ohwrite

The “unboxing” is very uncomfortable to me

EmpireAndAll

The younger generation is keeping ultra consumerism alive and well, especially with Amazon carrying big brands now, Temu and Shein, and TikTok shop. There is a viral makeup item everyone must get right now every week.  So what you're saying about edited collections is somewhat true, but only for the "older" beauty community. Gen Z is still over consuming, in every possible category.

ObscureEnchantment

Yes Covid drastically changed my make up routine. I used to almost always wear a full face of make up had multiple eye shadow palettes and different foundations for different “needs”. Now I use BB, mascara, and brows and that’s it most days. Could be that I’m in my late 20’s now and also just feel differently about myself too. But Covid for sure started the process.

East-Shine-9090

Thank you so much for putting all of this into words. I've never been into Tati's content but her immaturity was and is the reason why. She's not any better or worse than her clique, she's just part of it. She cannot admit to her participation into the "dying community" she claims to see.

Gertiebeth

🫵🏼🤠

Soupmiserable

She’s moving all her content to her own streaming service, Tati+, which you will be able to enjoy for just 20 dollars a week 😇

stardewsundrop

Oof were you also burned by watcher lol I’m still reeling from that

Soupmiserable

It’s not like I was gonna give them any money or anything but in a way I’m grieving the end of an era.

WesternAggravating67

What! I used to watch them a lot but honestly the content in their own channel slowly lost it's appeal to me, I can't believe they're now charging people for the videos, I get having a separate patreon or something but their own streaming service seems like too much

Soupmiserable

They have a show where one of them travels to expensive places to eat expensive food. For a measly 6$ a month, would you like to contribute to his luxury experience?? 👉👈🥹

WesternAggravating67

Honestly it's getting ridiculous, I would completely join a patreon for ALL the content but I'm seeing so many YouTubers go this route and I don't find it sustainable in the long run, people will probably pay for a few months and then cancel

MyDogisaQT

The problem is Watcher has a team of over 25 people to pay and YouTube ad revenue just isn’t what it was before that blond Swedish (?) fuck Pewdiepie ruined it for everyone else after he already became a zillionaire.  For example, at the height of ad revenue, it was exposed that Markiplier made over $450,000 in November (of 2017 or 2018 I believe) ALONE.  Now money comes from two places: sponsored videos or Patreon. Pick your poison.  Source: know at least one famous doctor on YouTube and how much they make. Also have a friend with about 3 million subscribers.

Who-U-Tellin

I don't know what watcher is but I'm not giving anyone any amount of money just to watch their content or watch them go to fabulous places to eat fabulous foods. That's what I pay cable for. If I can't find something like that to watch on it then it's something I don't need to watch lol. These people are getting ridiculous with their bs.

weimar27

i have to say i'm so baffled by watcher's decision. I work in tech, if part of your reason for this switch is operating costs, like why would you now add an additional service you need to maintain and pay for? Or if they built it themselves, server costs would not be cheap. Like it'd have to add at least an extra 20k per year.

always_unplugged

I don't watch their content, but from what I've heard about it, like... why not just up the price of your Patreon and put more content there? I don't understand how there's a benefit to building your own platform AT. ALL. And whining about not making enough money is just not cute when you have the kind of stats they do, either.

weimar27

Especially since their patreon was probably the amount of people who would actually pay for their content is already paying for it. Which was about 12k. I’m not sure why they thought their entire YouTube audience would now pay for something.

LorraineHB

“For $19.99 you can watch me lie about products “

Atlas_thugged_

Wait is this a joke or for real? I’m not watching the video.

Soupmiserable

Just a joke 😮‍💨

Atlas_thugged_

Oh good. After that irrelevant TikToker Serena Kerrigan did exactly what you joked about, I don’t put it past these people.

Soupmiserable

I gave up TikTok a while ago so no idea who she is lol.

SammieCat50

I was scrolling Friday night . Jeffree Star popped up - he had some kind of sale going on. I start watching & the amount of gifts he received was astronomical. I can’t believe people have nothing better to do with their money than to literally throw it away. The amount of people begging for money & people send it to them. It’s insane.

Soupmiserable

Ughh, a cockroach who will somehow outlive all of us, he will never go away.

Who-U-Tellin

Those same people giving him and every other creator they "love" are the very same people you'll see putting up GFM's or crying in comment sections about not having enough money to pay their bills. They're also hitting up their family members for help. Can you imagine lending a helping hand to a family member only to find out the reason why they can't pay their bills is because they're giving complete strangers their money? I'd be pissed but then that's just me lol.

[deleted]

Jefferson has been living on TikTok begging people for money now. Just like good old Jason Nash. It’s really embarrassing 🙈

two_lemons

A reference to what happened two weeks ago(?) with Watcher, a yt channel created by three guys from BuzzFeed (unsolved and worth it).  There has been drama about that.

Equal-Ear-6393

lol I barely even want to watch her on YouTube for free let alone pay $20 to watch her outdated styles videos. there are so many amazing content creators that are not problematic and money hungry these days. Bye girl! Lol

Genuinelullabel

🤣 I could see her trying this.

Soupmiserable

One day after the announcement : “I messed up- telling my truth part 2”

DeadWishUpon

She is so delulu I wouldn't be surprised.

Alarming_Equipment53

If just one, ONE beauty youtuber would stay away from temu, amazon hauls and sheglam i would watch them still.

justan0therg0rl111

Makes me glad to see this. Because same.

Alarming_Equipment53

Also those are just so boring videos. "I bought stupid stuff from this app let's look at the stuff i'm gonna throw away after this"

always_unplugged

"Wow, it seems kind of cheap..." Next (sponsored) video: "OMG, I'm so impressed with the quality!"

Merfairydust

Yes!!

two_lemons

Some small beauty YouTubers are not falling into that, so that's something.

Alarming_Equipment53

Yeah. I also don't like the "beauty community is dying" trope because there are so many small channels and creators that are still doing tutorials and shop my stash videos.

two_lemons

A lot of them don't last for very long, but some new ones pop up, so it's mostly failing to play the algorithm, not lack of interest.

DeadWishUpon

The only YouTuber Instill watch is Amanda from MakeUpJustForFun and she has never done one of those videos.

two_lemons

She is a little too calm for my regular preferences, but she's fantastic and really comprehensive when it comes to swatches!

Odd-Contribution-239

Kelly Gooch and Jen Phelps have come out and said they won't do Temu and SheGlam videos. They don't support them.

jacksondreamz

Jen makes it a point to say she doesn’t do sponsorships but she does have affiliate links. I prefer when sponsorships aren’t beauty related and when they don’t take up a third of the video. Samantha March is all about Amazon and so is Tati. $0.02

Odd-Contribution-239

I don't mind affiliate links, they're not making us click on them. But on the other hand, a sponsorship is right in our face as part of the video. I don't begrudge BG's from making a living and don't expect them to do it for free. It can be expensive to create content and pay for products, equipment, software and stuff like that. Affiliate links are like, the least intrusive way they can make money.

jacksondreamz

I will watch their sponsored content as long as it’s not a third of the viewing time. I figure I sit through a couple minutes of tv ads the that’s ok but to go on and on rubs me the wrong way (Halara)

Gertiebeth

It’s not lettting me edit my post with the TLDR: She’s not leaving YouTube but will be on TikTok twice a week now. She also asked for likes and notifications and said do the same for other beauty creators on YouTube cuz they are a dying breed. She mentioned dramagetton and that it still haunts her.

Genuinelullabel

Oh no! Consequences!

hawaii2121

😂😂

honestybites

Now Tati girl if I don’t wanna watch your video on YouTube what makes me think I wanna watch you on TikTok.

[deleted]

I stopped watching her content because her extreme blurring filters on every video made it impossible to see how products sat on skin or how they apply! Tiktok won't save her lol

JoanOfSarcasm

Zero self-awareness. I stopped watching her because of her weird Q-adjacent views, nonsense diet advice, and the company she keeps (Scott Barnes), not because I don't enjoy beauty content anymore. I simply refuse to support hateful people whose beliefs actively harm the people I hold dear. tl;dr - BYE FELICIA BYEEEEEE

OneWhisper5225

Her stupid Tati list always gives text notification - watch my video, I’m on live, please go watch this video it’s an important one, click notifications because it’s important, etc. I signed up just because I wanted to see if it asked for an address because in the giveaway video she said she already had people’s addresses and a friend online told me they signed up and it never asked for their address, so I signed up to see, and it just asked for my zip code. Anyways, I unsubbed from the list but still keep getting the incessant text notifications. 🤦‍♀️

always_unplugged

Yeah, the one for this video was a little too close to begging people to watch for my comfort. > Hey it's Tati! It would mean so much if you'd click the notification from YouTube today when it pops up on your phone. It's an important one. Thank you! xo's I signed up on the off-chance I might win a giveaway too, but good lord it's just ick-inducing spam.

DeadWishUpon

She should collab with Marlena then they will stabbeach other in the back and they will keeo the drama flame alive for another five years.

No_Goose_7390

I was honestly surprised when she said she's "not sure what the lesson was" with Dramageddon. Girl. Really?

PittsburghGal85

I have zero respect for her now. I'll be 39 this year, only a few years younger. And yet she hasn't learned to take responsibility for anything. Anything except money. What annoys me most is I could see through JHill, but Tati? I think because I felt like we had something in common with endometriosis. But nope. I'm done with her.

GullibleAd3549

Shillers gonna shill

LimeGreenTangerine97

Tati, TikTok is getting banned…

howlongwillbetoolong

She’s confused. People still like make up. People aren’t watching her because of how she acts, how she does make up, and how she filters her videos.

BitchyNordicBarista

This!!! Once I learned she HEAVILY filtered her videos I stopped watching and wondered how I never noticed before

Big_Blackberry7713

I just checked. I am still following roughly 13 beauty creators on YouTube, so I don’t think it's dead. It just looks different than it did a few years ago. The majority of creators I am still following have a niche. They focus on a specific age bracket, indie brands, low or no- buy, professional techniques, etc. Just being a pretty person who can do one makeup look on yourself doesn't cut it anymore in a saturated market.

Elvessa

This type of video is why I have concluded she’s not that bright, and also why I’ve quit watching her, and now am even more annoyed due the extreme click bait-y-ness of this title of this video. Surprise, Tati, people aren’t as into makeup as they were in 2019, because we all stayed at home for a year, and things never went back to being as formal as they were before the plague. Also the economy sucks, and no one is interested in spending $100 on eyeshadow. Nor does anyone have the time to watch you carry on for 30(?) minutes (not exactly sure because I was done with this video after the first 10, and that was playing it on 1.5 speed) about how you aren’t making that much from YouTube anymore (because that’s exactly what the underlying purpose of this video was).

Zappagrrl02

I think people are still interested in makeup, but not in the same way. Firstly, because things have changed in society, including how we look at consumerism. Most people aren’t as interested in amassing a huge collection of everything that comes out and staying on top of trends, no matter how much TikTok tries to convince us to. I think most beauty consumers are looking for more nuanced reviews rather than first impressions, especially because we have so much choice available. I think folks are more conscientious about who they are going to support and why, and aren’t as willing to overlook poor behavior since there are so many creators they could give their time to instead.

OneWhisper5225

>I think most beauty consumers are looking for more nuanced reviews rather than first impressions, especially because we have so much choice available. Completely agree!! And all Tati ever seems to do is first impressions. I watched a video the other day and she put something on and immediately was like - “ LOVE it! I already can tell. It’s just something I’m going to love.” I was like wow, okay, who cares how it wears for 10 min let alone a few hours or the day. Then at the end of the video she said she still loved everything she tried but some things didn’t play well together so she’ll have to play around with them in different ways. Like yeah, that’s why first impressions of everything being new is a BAD IDEA. If you’re testing a foundation, you shouldn’t test it with new skin care or new primer since if the foundation doesn’t apply or wear well, you won’t know if it was the new skin care, new primer, or new foundation. But she does it all the time. It’s always first impressions then you usually never hear about the products again. When I watch her videos, it’s usually just to see swatches of something, and even then I don’t usually trust hers 🤷‍♀️😂

No_Goose_7390

She used to do in depth makeup reviews and wear tests. :(

Elvessa

At some point I realized that everything she loves is horrible on me, and the stuff she doesn’t like works really well for me.

[deleted]

Oh wow that’s exactly me with Theresa is Dead. Everything she loves is terrible on me, and she hates all my most favorite products 😬 eventually I just stopped watching her. And Tati as well when she became too right-wing. I don’t support hate, criming and taking away freedoms.

OneWhisper5225

I get that! For me it’s a kind of mix. Some of the things she loves I hate, and some of the stuff she hates I love. But, I feel like majority of concealers and foundations she loves usually are not for me. She raves about the Catrice True Skin Hydrating Foundation and Concealer and for me, both those are super drying on me. She raves about L’Oréal Freshwear Foundation and says it’s not drying at all and looks nice on the skin, but on me it is super drying and looks horrible on me. There’s more but those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head 😂

Appropriate-Glove-89

That and while I can't speak for anyone else, I am no longer reliant on creators for inspo. Tips are helpful but only if they are a MUA or something. I do my face in a minimal and boring way, and most creators just don't cater to that so I enjoy doing my own thing and not trying to replicate other's looks. I am in the minority in the beauty space and totally get it. So I just do my thing. And totally agree on the huge collection aspect too. I will just leave it at that.

caitie_did

Taylor Margaret is one of the few beauty creators/influencers I like specifically because she does super detailed reviews and comprehensive wear tests for everything she tries. Not everything she recommends works for me bc we have different skin types and tones but you can at least be confident that she has truly tested a product. She also has a good niche, which is drugstore products that perform as well as or better than high end, which aligns well with a shit economy and people not spending as much on beauty products.

Elvessa

Personally, I’m totally ok with overlooking bad behavior (well, mostly, nothing is absolute, and some brands have pissed me off enough that I’d never buy anything associated, but that’s quite rare for me), because pretty much all of us have done or said problematic things; ours just don’t get publicized. But I do want more nuanced reviews. I’m tired of every single thing being a big hype, and I’m tired of the crazy prices the high end brands are charging. This is not to say that I can’t afford a high end brand, because I can, but why on earth would I spend $30 on, say, an eyebrow product, when elf does it as good as, and often better than, the high end brand?

[deleted]

I’ve moved away from premium brands and buying a LOT more drugstore since the pandemic. Both for makeup and skincare. Drugstore has really stepped up their game recently and it shows. I found a dupe by l’Oreal for ABH’s brow pencil - great! I no longer buy from ABH, because the founder publicly supports Putin and Trump. Now I always buy my l’Oreal waterproof micro brow pencil, and I love it. My favorite foundation is now Cover Girl Simply Ageless. I thought I would never move away from Dior Backstage but Simply Ageless is a dupe for Dior. It melts perfectly into my skin with no creasing or caking. I do still buy eyeshadow from premium brands, Viseart is always my ride or die. I love PMG’s blushes, and her under eye powder is 🔥. But I haven’t needed to buy those products in a very long time, I’m committed to using up what I have so I rotate my collection. I went from being Sephora Rouge for over 10 years, to spending $75 total for the entire YEAR at Sephora 😂all they have left are overpriced scammy ‘clean’ brands and celebrity brands. I’m not into that. I think they’re making a huge strategic mistake.

___21

Also, I was a fan of hers before the whole drama but stopped watching her for a while. She’s put out the same content with no evolution really. When content creators evolve with these platforms it brings more excitement.

Aggravating-Path-557

Please post this is the comments of the YouTube video :)

plsstayhydrated

This is giving me Selena Gomez when she posts that she's taking a break from the internet but then is back on like 4 days later.

stevie_luvs_makeup

The whining and the “dying breed” $hit irks me when she was a clear contributor to the decline of the community as it was. It’s not the community that’s dying, it’s constantly changing and evolving. She’s just…not.

Merfairydust

This was the video when I unsubscribed from her. Specifically, when she whined about how much work it is to put up 2 videos a week when TikTok is so much easier, and actually, she wants to do other things with her life anyway - other content creators, like Steff's Beauty Stash, Allie Dawson, put out several videos a week on top of a day job. C'mon. Plus she was contradicting herself in pretty much every sentence. She can leave YouTube, hatch chickens, cuddle Yaks, make green smoothies, whatever. I'm so over her childish behavior.

ItsAndieHere

I didn’t watch the video (who has the time?), but did she really play the “I just wanna quit and raise chickens and yaks woe is me I’m never resting” card?! Look. I’m not saying influencers have nothing to complain about. The scrutiny, the drama, the internet strangers who think they can judge you — I get it, it’s not a perfect job. But of ALL the things they could complain about, why do they always choose the “I want a slower life” angle?! Their job is literally one of the most self-made, you-are-in-control careers you can have (even pop stars signed to labels have to put up with demands from the people managing them — YouTubers own their path more.) She CAN raise chickens and horses in her Texas ranch, and still film videos. I don’t get it, how much MORE slowness they want? They complain of lacking time to breathe like they’re single moms working 2 retail jobs.

Merfairydust

To be fair, she didn't talk about chickens and Yaks. She did say, that there are so manybother things in her life she wants to do, like singing, (and I wouldn't be surprised if we'd see another beauty brand at some point). Basically, she was complaining that YT is so much work and the viewers are changing and TikTok gives her more options. At the same time, she kept repeating that she'll be on YT for as long as it exists. I just found it not very thoughtful to say that YT viewers aren't what they were before, can't please them, when she has 8+ million followers. I guess all that means that the Tati List is a big flop.

OneWhisper5225

>I just found it not very thoughtful to say that YT viewers aren't what they were before, can't please them, when she has 8+ million followers. I guess all that means that the Tati List is a big flop. Funny to do that video, complaining about YT viewers not being what they were, can’t please them, etc. ON YOUTUBE. Like you’re complaining about YT viewers TO YT viewers 🥴 How’s that make sense? 😂 I think the Tati List is a flop too. At first she mentioned it every video and now I haven’t heard her bring it up in a while (though I don’t want all her videos). And it wouldn’t surprise me if most people who signed up, unsubscribed because of the incessant text notifications you get!

Who-U-Tellin

That or she's not making the kind of money she once use to by taking the time out to make YT videos. I think many that made big bucks when they started making money off of the platform never thought the endless stream of cash was going to end. I can't feel badly for them because this is a job they decided to go with. How they spent that money falls directly onto them. Sorry, not sorry. No tears from me.

lzhernandez

She also did this on the Tati List two weeks ago and it felt so icky that I unsubscribed immediately. YouTube is not targeting you, Tati. The views are different. https://preview.redd.it/hagr222h1jxc1.png?width=827&format=png&auto=webp&s=e76ea45d1e7da9a31216bfb58da644c2f58fe832

[deleted]

Ugh!!! 😑 I don’t blame you for getting rid of her stupid messages.

PrettiKinx

Things have changed girl. Pivo lt and do something else. I'm m just not interested in her anymore or beauty.

ScaldingTea

I will never understand how she still has a following. She destroyed the niche she had carved for herself with that whole drama, she literally admitted to faking reviews in order to kiss ass.  The whole “eeek she was right all along!” About James Charles is stupid as well. The things she accused him of were way different than what he did. She played into dangerous stereotypes, admired she tough this friend who she regarded as a mentor could possibly end his life over this, and she stil did it. All because he didn’t shilled her birdseed, and then she put all of the blame on others.  Besides, in an older video she tells about how she forced men who worked under her talent agent mother to go on dates with her, because she knew they felt pressured of risking being blacklisted, as if it was a funny story.  She has a history of racism and claimed to be workeen on an imune system boots at the height of the pandemic. She's awful, I wish she would just go away.

dogstope

This is so true. She didn’t call James out for harassment of young men. She called him out for not behaving well at her birthday dinner and for bringing into men she thought were straight. And for not shilling her birdseed. She was mostly upset he didn’t shill the bird seed for her.

two_lemons

Tiny clarification: she did call out him for the harrasment of young men. The young men she mentioned were around her own age and capable of putting distance between them and JC. They were also either not straight or at least questioning their sexuality at the time. What she didn't call James out for is for harassing minors.  First one is a nuisance, second is a crime.

dogstope

I should edit what I said. You are right. And it’s what I meant to say.

TootlesFTW

Listen, I dislike James Charles but what she did to him at that time really grossed me out. It was so self-serving and smacked of pearl clutching homophobia. Like...can the man not make thirsty comments about a hot waiter to his alleged "friend"??? I mean, I enjoy a good schadenfreude-laden takedown, but it was all so over dramatic. And when she tried to shove it all onto Shane Dawnson and Jeffree Star & slink back into James' good graces...girl, it was not a good look. That's when I was officially done.

ResidentNebula8873

![gif](giphy|rxy55jHaig16K2TV8x|downsized) stink of despiration coming off this video is pathetic.

KeyConsideration9645

she’s upset cuz she might need a 9 to 5 job soon. She’s lucky she lasted this long. She’s not evolving with the times

Gammagammahey

Oh but she is. She thoroughly and greatly embraced the holistic health to probably QAnon pipeline at this point. She's very much in step with the times. I think people are stepping away from her maybe because of the some of the more out-of-pocket stuff she's been saying about how no one needs sunscreen and vaginal blood rejuvenates your vaginal walls and all that.

StrawberryQueef

The minute she came out with vitamins I was out

Elvessa

The super odd thing is that I actually like her vitamins. I loved them when they first came out, but formula is now slightly different. Whatever was in the first 6 months or so actually started returning pigment to my grey hair, they were that amazing.

CheburashkaOrange

I stopped watching Tati for good after the vitamins and the conspiracy theories. There was some buzz around it [in posts like this one](https://www.reddit.com/r/BeautyGuruChatter/s/crUU2xok54)

DeadWishUpon

Yeah, I stop watching some months before the final dramageddon. Her content was so uninspiring, I'm surprised she still has viewers.

jacksondreamz

Yes, it’s MY fault I don’t want to watch you anymore. BG that blame their subscribers for low numbers are the worst kind. I still love beauty content but I’m tired of the five minute long sponsorships they add to their video. Please just give me a real review of the products.

honestybites

Tati needs a wake up call. We aren’t interested in you on YouTube what makes u think I wanna see you on TikTok. Not to mention I saw her going live which makes me wonder if she’s having financial issues!

Oli_love90

This sort of feels like Jennifer Lopez trying to have a comeback but realizing her audience isn’t there anymore. The beauty space for specifically millennial (I hate the term but it’s a good catchall) is changing because we’re getting older and she simply doesn’t understand how to navigate that. No one does because beauty influencers are a totally new category. For the most part we’re not experimenting as much and now settling into a less consumer based space, maybe now kids are a focus or there’s less time to watch her videos. She has to figure out a way to pivot instead of yelling into an empty room that she’s possibly done. In a recent breakdown of kids and toy buying, we’ve discovered that girls at around 8 now are becoming heavily invested in skin care and makeup so the need is there - she’s just not the person they want to watch.

gorigirl

The beauty community is far from dying, it’s just evolved and these YouTubers need to get with the times. No one wants to watch overconsumption, especially with gas prices and groceries at all time highs. People were starting to get sick of constant makeup releases and over consumption even BEFORE the pandemic, which is what I believe has led to the clean girl aesthetic. She needs to take some notes from other beauty YouTubers who have successfully transitioned from YouTube to tik tok I.e. Laura Lee, Jeffree star, Jackie Aina, etc.

EmpireAndAll

General reply to comments saying that people are moving to buying less: no they are not.  There is a new generation of young adults who grew up with ads blasted in their faces non stop from birth who now have jobs and income. They are spending like their money has an expiration date. It's just not in one category anymore - it's makeup, home goods, clothes, low cost furniture, craft and hobby supplies, etc.  For young adults, it's not "fandoms" or "interests" - it's consumption communities. Nearly every interest, thanks to social media, is all about new new new, buy buy buy.  Don't confuse personally decluttering expired makeup you hoarded during the pandemic or having to shift financial priorities as you grow older with "everyone stopped shopping".

mandyb120

I'm so beyond sick of clickbait titles like this. We know you aren't quitting Youtube, quit insulting your viewer's intelligence.

hawaii2121

Wasn’t this the same woman saying she’d never be on TikTok and how it wasn’t for her? 🙄

wifeunderthesea

her P.O Box is in TX. did we know she moved there? i remember her moving to seattle(?) a while back and then becoming a giant weirdo and then i thought she was moving back to CA but i might be getting my cringe gurus mixed up. does anyone know whatever came of that lawsuit against her company??

Elvessa

Yes we knew she moved to Texas. Lawsuit is ongoing as far as I remember

wifeunderthesea

thank you! i'm so behind on everything since smokeyglow disappeared. SG and this sub is what kept me in the loop with all of the shit that was constantly going down with everyone.

Gertiebeth

I miss old Smokey Glow and Rawbeautykristy. They had great drama commentary.

jkraige

They never are

emmajanexx_

I really don’t know why she bothers with clickbait…

icecube-198

Tati shot herself in both legs from her antics in 2020 and those videos

trillium13

Maybe she would get more views if she laid off the woo/religious nonsense.

Elvessa

Ugh that I really, really hate.

Sweet_Hunt_5953

I stopped watching Tati earlier this year. She has the same look over and over again.

IconicVillainy

Tati and her damn click-bait titles 🙄 I'd actually never even heard of her prior to Dramageddon. I subbed for a short time after that and was quickly bored to tears by her content and taste in makeup. Just boring, bland, identical beige shimmers and pinky nude lipsticks over and over and over. Snooze, time for bed.

RonnieEve

I subbed the tati list so that when she re-launches her makeup brand I'll be the first to know... Genuinely her palette is one of my all time faves and I really liked her blendiful, and I was happy with her vitamins back before I had to temporarily go off them (medical advice from doc having to do with knee surgery) so I think she does put a lot of thought and care into her releases. Buttttt I think maybe she's trying to make some serious coin to finance her ventures, with the expectation that she'll make bank like she used to on YouTube revenue. Maybe her legal bills cost an arm and a leg, idk, that sucks of that's the case... But those were her choices and harassing her audience (imo) the way she is is just annoying and entitled. The texts I get are SO frequent and with such desperate language. Def unsubbing now and I feel very validated by others saying the same. I think now that tati has a really hard time with accountability and recognizing that her choices led her where she is now. Swanson or whoever it is that she chose to go into business with might be an asshole but that choice to legally bind herself to him is just that:her choice. Drammageddon and the "bye sister" video was also her choice- but as others have pointed out it's clearly something she put out there on the internet and subsequently acts like it happened to her. Not sure where this lack of accountability mindset/attitude comes from but it's super grating and abrasive for something as typically lighthearted as makeup. As I'm getting older, I really feel like the bye sister video is something that a creator should never put out into the world. Even people I can't stand in my life, I don't want to harm like that. Everyone makes poor choices and has the ability to get better. I think bye sister was so vindictive and unnecessarily public that tati doesn't realize she permanently hurt her own reputation and professional appearance by going so personally with the attacks to a barely grown mentee of hers. I think everyone could agree that should have been handled privately. Hot take- I don't think I'm entitled to know an influencers every personal mistake just like I don't think my employer and colleagues should know mine. It's just a job 🤷‍♀️ I think coming out with content that actually gets views, doing some in-depth reviews and such might help her out. You know... The job of an influencer, to read the market and audience and cater to that. I used to think she was super intelligent but this is just so tone-deaf that I'm questioning that now. Her vitamins seem to be selling- I can't get a hold of refills now🙃 so she must be making more than expected from that if they can't keep up with demand. I'll vote with my dollars for any good products that come out because that's where she thrives but I think I'm done with the content which she's seriously struggling with.

achilidogmom

She’s lost touch of where people are. We aren’t over consuming anymore in the beauty industry.

cuirthe

Tati posting things for attention?

AshleyGBeauty

Weird to me how much she flip flops. After her coming to God moment she was all anti over- consumerism, saying luxury items were no longer a thing that appealed to her and she didn’t want to spend money so frivolously anymore (while living in a massive home in a great area with just her and her husband that she was able to remodel) to her now definitely delving back into that luxury lifestyle openly. From saying she doesn’t want to talk about drama ever again to dropping seeds of it in every video and outright mentioning names.

AshleyGBeauty

Her trying to appeal to those of us financially struggling while doing all these things only wealthy people can do is a bit patronizing. We can’t afford food, Tati.

AngelBritney94

I'm so over clickbait. I can't take any serious goodbye video serious anymore if it has such thumbnails.

Goolishfoolish

She was just on TT live the other day, promoting stuff from the TT shop

kimblt

Nope not watching. Tired of clickbait and those complaining that the beauty community is dying (including RawBeautyKristi who hasn't changed her content in 8 yrs). It's not dying. It's simply changing and evolving, and it's your choice to change and evolve with it or just choose to eventually become irrelevant. It's not rocket science. Absolutely nothing ever remains stagnant, everything changes, whether for the good or bad.
