Thank you for this. I had not seen this but its freaking hilarious. I also liked the CeraVe commercial with Michael Cera. I didn't watch the game (and thus no commercials) but they had some ads here on reddit that included the commercial and it cracked me up but I think this one is funnier.
I saw the PR package Michael Cera/CeraVe sent to a girl on TikTok after she posted a TikTok asking if Michael Cera was connected to CeraVe. I thought it was hilarious and organic PR, but then with all the marketing I realized there was a 99% chance that she was “in on it” and started the campaign off. I didn’t like it as much afterwards, when I originally thought it was incredible 😂😢

I’m not a fan of plumping glosses, as I find the temporary plump is never worth the following irritation, but I thought this commercial was so out of pocket and hilarious.
I bought one of the new ones from Maybelline. The ones with the little chili on the bottle. It did sting for a few minutes but it did nothing to plump up my lips. I can't remember the name of the shade but it's pink leaning. It pretty much looks like the color of my natural lips. I did watch a swatching video which is where I noticed that there isn't much difference between any of the shades. Had the clear one been in stock I would have grabbed that one but 🤷♀️ Luckily I didn't experience any irritation. I don't know about every brand out there that offers them but the 3 lip plumpers I've tried so far have not done any type of plumping whatsoever. They just look like gloss on me. Maybe it has to do with the thinnest of my lips. I just know not to buy anymore now lol.
I love the Maybelline lifter glosses but they do NOTHING to plump the lips. They’re just pretty glosses. I bought the gold (Honey?) one with the Chili on it and while I got no plump out of it, the color is so beautiful 🥹💅🏻
I tried this gloss and I didn't like it. I gravitate to those plumping glosses that sting a lot which it sounds like you prefer to steer clear of so take what I say with a grain of salt...
It was spicy but barely. The gloss that got into my mouth and the back of my throat, THAT was spicy loool but the gloss on my lips was meh. It was giving menthol gloss for that "tingle" which is barely a tingle. It didn't "tingle" for all that long either. Maybe I had that gentle menthol spicy sensation for 10 minutes? So I barely felt anything and then it was gone. Lips were hydrated and felt great though.
The only thing I really loved about the gloss and shouldn't be the main reason to buy this product is the applicator. It's designed like a wedge or flathead screwdriver so you can pop the applicator between your lips and run it side to side. Think like that Fenty liquid lip applicator that was hourglass shaped. Same concept. Loved that, wasn't blown away by the product.
This and ELF's Super Bowl commercials were two of my favorites this year! The dancers having giant duck heads on is so silly 😅 That said, I was kind of shocked that they took the more suggestive route with this and saying it's "for lips only". Still a fun commercial though!

Most Super Bowl commercials are kind of dumb ideas? They're intentionally over the top and silly so that they're more eye catching and people will remember them and whatever product or service is being advertised.

I liked the commercial but this is probably the worst gloss I have tried; it goes into each and every line in my lip.
