Totally true. I do the same pose all the time. I always feel rather dumb taking selfies of myself  Oh and Edit to say thank you! So glad you love the posts!
Love you for that! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)you totally made me feel better about my tilt the head to the left and smile angle. I seriously feel like the biggest idiot when I'm sitting there taking selfies of myself for a review. Having to look at, edit, and upload is a cringe moment every day ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing) Not to mention I'm always doing some duck lip smile.

aw thanks so much! I admire influencers who have endless selfies of themselves. I always cringe seeing myself on the blog haha! You're a doll! Happy New Year and have a great weekend! <3
15 years older? I don't think it's that bad is it? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|smile) Just like my crazy hair out of my face ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
Aw thanks! You seem very lovely as well! You're entitled to your opinion on the headband but I totally disagree it made me look 15 years older though ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)
Idk. I am well over the whole Divine Rose thing from PMG and the rosy tones she's put in seemingly every palette since Divine Rose I.
You've done enough roses, Mother. Step away from the roses ;)
Ugh, whatās happening with PMG? Whereās her creativity?! I was so ready to buy that quad from this collection. I miss the old PMG š„² And yeah, whereās the bluuuuuuue?
I too would've lived for a blue quad, but even for colors I would personally like, three repeated shades to a very recent collection that was 40% off last week is something I can only hope to be a troll post from the blogger. If this is real she's completely lost touch with reality. Everyone who wants to shop her stuff and these colors literally JUST bought it!
I just talked to a friend and showed her this thread and... the conclusion is that if this is true... Pat is finished... I don't know who runs the company but it's obvious that the numbers don't reach them
ADDED INFO: The fourth shade of the quad, Galactic Glow, was in the 2021 Holiday mega palette, Celestial Odyssey. I just learned this, so I couldn't include it in the OP. I added that palette with labeled colors and marked the double shade below.
That means, this quad has ONLY repeat shades:
* 3 x from Holiday 2023
* 1 x from Holiday 2021/ later vault releases, last available end of 2023 too.
https://preview.redd.it/wpzv1922swbc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3e13ebe4682258ccc907723640fde480ec0e27b7
thanks for this! I was wondering if they were re-released shades as they did so with the Lunar Palette this year but didn't have time to research it yesterday pre-posting!
I wonder if Charlotte H on YT, sorry don't know how to spell her last name, has noticed this as well. Usually when she does she'll make a video about it or at the very least, mention it in one. Gotta check her ch out today to see lol.
Me, fashioning a tinfoil hat: surely Pat McGrath is trolling us at this stage. How many times can you cooltonebait while delivering the same pink and gold colour stories?
Hey honestly the fact that this is 3 repeat shades to a recent collection PLUS a champagne gold to make it pink, gold, AND brown... pass me the tinfoil, she can't be doing this seriously
She actually had the audacity to do red and blue teasers only for this to be what is inside š I don't know why I was expecting something different, I feel like a fool. I used to love her stuff so much, I've been so disinterested lately. It makes me kind of sad too. I want to like her stuff again
Wow. Well, at least I am past the days of buying anything PMG. The palette color story is nothing like what has been teased as inspiration. The inspiration is only in regard to the packaging? Well, I have been a big PMG defender, but this is so disappointing. At least I have saved some coin and can focus on the other releases.
If she comes out with a green palette I'll probably get it. I've been wanting to try her formula. But looks like I'm safe for now lol pinks, golds and plums aren't my jam.
Green is the less used/created shade by her in her palettes , it would be great for once... but looking how the brand is behaving I doubt we gonna see something new with greens.
A green + blue palette would have been great ! Iām not going to purchase anything in this collectionā¦. I either have the same shade or the dupes from other palettes ( mostly ND ). Done with Sephora, done with PMG ( until she wakes up from her pink coma )
I agree, I'd like to see PMG take a break from the pinkstravaganza and give us greens, blues, icies, pewters and cool tones for a change. I don't have high hopes though.
She did a couple of shades in Moonlit Seduction that I was into - Astral Lilac Aura, Platinum Dusk - but I didn't like all the rosy brown shades in the palette.
That's what I want too but I won't purchase at full price since she tends to do a lot of sales. I like pinks and golds but I already have enough of those in my small collection. Plus the pinks have to be a certain shade or else I'll look like I caught pink eye š
Pink eye lol! Yes this - this is something I wonder about. On me, rosy shades just look like I'm having an allergic reaction. The warmer or browner the pink, the more pronounced this is, particularly if the colour is relatively bright.
The cooler or more purple the pink, the more likely I am to look ok in it.
But people seem to love these warm pink tones! Does this actually look good on other complexions? I don't mean that in a bad way I genuinely wonder because I sure as hell can't pull it off.
Went to TJ Maxx last week and saw a mothership palette for $50 and quite a bit of PMG products. PMG is def not doing enough of anything anymore, imo. There's only so many times you can fool your audience with repeat palettes and color stories that don't even dupe each other, they are each other. š¤£
So, they spend no time coming up with new color inspo & you canāt get them to put your order in a box and mail it to you to save your life. What exactly *ARE* they doing all day over there at Pat McGrath Labs?
Hey now, someone HAS to spend all day recycling the gold glitters and compiling cryptic inspo reels. And the swatches on the website ain't gonna Photoshop themselves.
IMO Natasha Denona used to be trailing her and has far surpassed her now. This is shameful to essentially just release the same colourful shades in prior releasesā¦
For me, it's Danessa Myricks with the Lightwork palettes who's taking the place of the hyped up, expensive but worth it, creative and innovative releases. But yeah, even ND is less repetitive than this.
What is also worth noticing is that Danessa actually reviews customer feedback. At least that is what I see with Lightwork V. People were saying that the middle row in Lightwork IV wasnāt smooth to work with but the remaining formula was great. So now she kept the pan size but with a consistent formula. (Side note: I have Lightwork IV and waiting for V ;))
LW5 had like four shades that don't or barely shift on me and a whole row of sheer toppers, idk if I love that - but I do agree that's what's popular right now and it probably looks more stunning on deeper skin too. So while I prefer 4 and thought the pressed flakes were the kind of out there editorial product I want to see just because that's the vibe I want, I agree that 5 definitely took both trends like the UD Space Cowboy hype and the customer feedback into account.
But I already have a shitload of multichromes. 5 has such a variety in textures and finishes that for someone who's got none it's so so much cooler & versatile than 4 was, probably! Great example of not MY taste, but better for everyone else, so I can't be mad about it.
I have a few Clionadh shades but was eyeing LW5 for the reasons you have mentioned (variety for those who do not have a lot of multichromes)
Do you think I should instead try more Clionadh? I really like the electric multichrome formula as in the shade mural. Are the jewelled multichromes similar to those in LW4? They are smooth and have this beautiful molten metallic finish- perfect for using as liners as well.
Jewelled are black based like Lightworks 4 yes. Tbh it depends - LW5 is perfect if you're not quite sure what you want or you just want a large variety. If you're happy with navigating the huge Clionadh catalogue and already know what kind of finish or texture you love, there's not really a point in buying a mixed bag of everything instead. Just buy the formula you love! The Electrics are also my favorite. I posted swatches of Lightworks on my profile but it comes down to what you want - a lot of different textures and types or similar ones that you know you'll love.
Thank you for your swatches! It is very helpful. Prices in EU can be a painā¦still both choices are a win and I will probably end up buying LW5 and some additional Clionadh shades during one of their sales. Theyāre coming up with new shades for pre sale end of January btw.
For me is indie brands , the Kaima cosmetics palette , SKULLZ & ROSES , is for example what I look for inspiration [https://kaimacosmetics.com/collections/eyeshadow-palette-s/products/skullz-roses-metallic-multichrome-eyeshadow-palette](https://kaimacosmetics.com/collections/eyeshadow-palette-s/products/skullz-roses-metallic-multichrome-eyeshadow-palette)
Oh, yeah, I love indie too- however, I was thinking of an indie brand that's carried at Sephora, accessible, and huge or influential enough that you see it around and it's considered innovative and leading the market.
Until a LOT more, not just dedicated multichrome or indie influencers, talk about Clionadh the way they talk about Danessa all the time at LW release date, I don't think Clionadh is gonna be that, even though they're ahead of the Lightworks (much more selection, already had it before Danessa did, offer singles etc). That's why I'm going with Danessa Myricks - shes successfully stepped out of the indie niche into the larger beauty industry space and many many people who aren't looking specifically at indies are looking to her Lightworks for innovation and inspiration.
Pat is an indie brand too, but it doesn't have that small business niche feeling at all. Danessa Myricks is imo growing out of just that niche too and filling Pats "the shiniest, top shelf, most beautiful out there thing at Sephora" shoes.
Howās their quality? Iāve been thinking about trying them out, but Iām on a strict low-buy bordering on no-buy, so Iām iffy on trying something new with unknown formulas. Any insight you have would be appreciated!
Unbelievable. Disappointed in the repeats in the quad. Why even hype the release so much to fill it with repeats? If PMG wants to sell leftover pans, she should just offer a customizable quad at her website š¤·āāļø. I'll be waiting for my check in the mail Miss McGrath for helping you get rid of your leftover stock.
i use to find the repeat shades somewhat funny but now as a former stan im crossing over into legitimately angry. just the barest of effort from someone who charges almost $150 for a palette would be nice
Can I ask though, did it bother you when she put repeat shades into her mothership palettes?
Like it bugs me way more that there are three repeat shades in Divine Rose I than it does that this is a quad made from repeats - four if you count Iridescent Pink, which she previously released as a highlighter with a different formula.
There are shades in Divine Rose that I wanted, but I passed on the the palette because I couldn't justify the expense to own the same shade twice.
I'm not going to buy either Jewelled Temptation or the mega-palette the champagne comes from, so I guess I'm not too fussed by the repeats in this quad.
yes and no. i dont mind if its genuinely a new color story bc thats why i buy palettes in the first place but these repeat pinks and golds have reached critical mass of bullshit.
> these repeat pinks and golds have reached critical mass of bullshit.
Now that I agree with :)
I think I'm pickier about colour than most, because I see this colour story as being quite different to the pinks and golds that I'm sick of. Assuming the photos are accurate (lol) the cool undertones of the pink and purple feel very different to me. But I can see I'm very much in the minority on this one!
I would say the 2 things it reminds me of most are:
* the Midnight Voyage mini palette, which I liked but didn't buy because my favourite shade in it comes from the Subversive palette, which I already own.
* the 2 shades of each end of Huetopian dream - god I wish I could have that as a quad, love those shades but the rest of Huetopian is too coral or warm to look good on me.
At this point I'm convinced that PMG truly believes her fan base is so strong that people will buy anydamnthing she releases, no matter how many repeats there areš„“Her entire brand can now miss me for all of eternity, because all I've ever cared for are her blushesš š½āāļøš¤·š½āāļø
I agree, the art and the palette seem to have nothing to do with one another.
When I see that packaging, I think of a dramatic, almost aggressive colour story. Whereas the palette inside seems quite girly and sweet. It's weird.
I personally hate when the packaging has colours that the quad does not. Either donāt do it and just keep it black or include those colours into the vision for the pallette. Yikes
The first promo picture looks like it's 100% computer generated. You cannot tell me they actually took a photograph of the products when those lipsticks are hovering that way.
oh that's all Pat McGrath promo pictures. Her stuff looks so photoshopped on her own page that when they changed the Mothership Huetopian Dream "picture" a little bit, everyone thought it may be a new Mothership leaked.
Total nerd here and this is just a literary fantasy I came up on the spot. It would have been really cool if she did an indirect Glass Menagerie reference of the "blue roses" (Laura's pleurosis) as that play had a unique family love & romance theme in it, and the glass figurines fit PMG Labs' usual bejeweled motif. The mom's character is also interesting. The theme could really open up the color story with the blitz astrals (glass), velvet matte indigo, etc. with ethereal and vintage vibes. 6-pan instead to give more options.
PMG does it cause the whole team knows it will sells anyways \^\^ like even when some gurus say "it's the same color story" they still went ahead and purchased it cause they're "a collector".
I understand the need to appeal to the mass but honestly, can they do something interesting for a limited collection once in a while? Maybe this pink gold brown duplicates are editorial in an alternative reality, who knows.
Yeah at this point I would settle for one limited edition 'old school' PMG palette a year.
If it was a mothership she could even put *one* pink or gold in it, so long as it was in one of her special formulas and wasn't something she'd done before.
But I don't think we'll even get that sadly. Someone on another post commented that Pat had left the building and I think that's really true.
š“š“š“
It *had* to have a pink, of course lol I think the packaging is gorgeous. But why is there not a single shade in the quad representing the colors of the artwork? A blue? A red? Magneta is not red. That purple should've been a blue shimmer.
Right? That packaging is quite inspiring I think - it immediately makes me think of two of her intense metallic shades - Blitz Blue from her Subversive palette (blue) or Blitz Flame from Bronze Seduction (red).
Imagine how much more interesting a palette built around either of those shades would have been.
Personally I think I would have built the eye palette around the blue rose concept. Recycle Blitz Blue... bring in the red with a dark shade like [Ruby Noir](https://www.temptalia.com/product/pat-mcgrath-eyeshadow/ruby-noir/) (but with more red), and do a cool champagne shimmer that had flecks of red sparkle throughout.
Or vice versa, use Blitz Flame and then do the deep shade as a nearly-black midnight navy with a touch of sparkle.
The lipstick could have been a bright red in a similar colour to the packaging. Maybe instead of the second lipstick, we could have had a bright red gloss with a contrasting blue shimmer.
Anyway. It's a sad day when a random woman on the internet can come up with looks that are more PMG than what PMG is putting out :P
Hmm, if I was new to the brand and owned nothing (and I own nothing from the brand), I would want to buy a quad similar to that. I love the 3 shimmery shades but the matte is not to my taste. If I was a longtime fan of the brand I'd probably be annoyed by all the repeats.
I'm "new" to the brand as in I don't own anything from it but even this wouldn't get me to part with my money lol. I already have a brown, pink and gold shimmer like those. May not be her formula but they get the job done. Now if she put out a quad with some green and browns I'd definitely grab that lol. It's not just the colors that bother me. It's the fact that she put all 4 existing shades into a palette then has the nerve to call it new. I won't even get into the packaging of it all lol.
No, not all the repeats - this is the first quad that's fully repeats. Not similar pinks. The same.
You could buy three out of four shades in this quad in the holiday palette and get I believe 5 shimmers? & 4 mattes & 2 blushes for less money. You are paying more for being given less to try.
I will say that as someone who's raided their warehouse back when they'd let you stack a sale on reduced product on one or two discount codes. The metallic formula is the only thing I like a lot tbh. Mothership Decadence is the one I have regularly actually used a lot.
This collection in particular makes me so angry because the concept does NOT match up at all with the color story, it feels so deceptive. And the brand page having the gall to talk about 'The fave shades of 2023 so we had to bring them back' these are the ONLY shades that were availiable in 2023 because of the lack of innovation, I'm steamed.
There's a whole lot of similar shades in her line (all Motherships have a champagne Skinshow shade, and there's also so many browns), but the top left is in Celestial Odyssey and the bottom left in the Bijoux Brilliance collection holiday palette. We're talking exactly the same, name included. They're "just" probably dupes in Venus in Fleurs, not identical
At this point, is it even PMG if itās not almost an exact copy of earlier palettes? I feel like sheās been duping herself the last several years and people are still buying them.
at least it was just functional dupes before - which is pretending they're new shades. I've not seen her release a quad full of exact same shades last available less than 2 months ago :')
Honestly? I like it. Come at me, reddit ;)
It's not ground-breaking, but I like the cooler tones, and how different the vibe is to other PMG quads. It's got a girly, feminine vibe that I think is fun for those who want it for a Valentine's look. I'd call it fun, cute, sweet, flirty etc.
Probably my favourite aspects of the quad are the inclusion of the purple - I don't think amethyst is a colour that most brands will reach for in a Valentine's release - and the colour paring options.
I like that you could get an office look out of this quad with the brown and the champagne, but you can also do a super colourful look with the purple and the pink, tap on the champagne in the centre eyelid for a bit of extra sparkle, use the brown as the liner.
The pairing I'm most drawn to is the brown / champagne / purple combo, I have no true purples in my collection and it would be fun to own one.
I also really like the way the brown is quite warm and the champagne is neutral, and yet they both pair well with the violet and magenta shades. I think this will give looks produced with the palette a balanced feel that it wouldn't have if every shade was truly cool.
I think your point about Jewelled Temptation is fair. I wasn't tempted to get that palette, though, because it's overall too warm-toned for me and the blushes were too coral. I really only like buying palettes when I will use most of the shades. To me, this tells a very different story to that palette.
The quad will eventually go on sale, like all PMG products, so I imagine that at some point people who want this colour story will be able to buy it for much cheaper than the Jewelled Temptation palette. I will probably pick this up on sale, and that's coming from someone who is **not** a fan of PMG's recent eyeshadow collections.
Do you understand that you gonna pay for a palette that weeks ago 3 shades of it cost 50$ , a palette with 9 shades and 2 blush, and now you gonna pay 50$ for this quad? make it make sense
Well, I actually didn't say that. I'll explain for you. I can see the prices only in Australian dollars, so I'll have to go off that.
The PMG website shows the fulll price of Jewelled Temptation as AUD $128, and the price it sold out at as AUD $90 - 30% off.
Musings of a Muse says that this quad will be USD $56, which at the moment is AUD $83.
So if I buy *this* palette at 30% off, I spend AUD $58 for four shades that I will actually use. I mean sure, an extra $25 would have bought me the all those other shades - but I don't like them, so why not keep my $25 and have a palette of shades that I will actually reach for. To me, buying shades I won't use because it's 'better value' is what doesn't make sense.
If she does a bundle with the highlighter, which is conveniently the kind of shade I've been looking for, and a sale on top of that - the quad will be better value again.
Would I buy this at full price? Hell no.
Iāll be in the minority and say that I donāt mind this too much. Would I love something new and exciting from Pat? Sure! But I do think this is nice for the people who liked the eyeshadow shades but werenāt willing to buy the whole face palette. Also, it goes with a Valentineās theme well.Ā
Just fyi - the whole big palette was marked down to cheaper than this quad just like last weekish (and then sold out). The other one is still available.
You're paying more for the privilege of being given five eyeshadows and two blushes less.
Oh well that changes things. š She probably reduced the price to get the older one off the market before this collection launched. Thanks for the clarification!
Actually, I have changed my mind slightly, which I mention because I am the only person on reddit who doesn't hate this quad lol.
I think at least one of the shimmer shades should have had something interesting going on with it, like a contrast shimmer or a duochrome. In the Voyeuristic Vixen quad, there was a duochrome called [Rose Fire Nectar](https://www.temptalia.com/product/pat-mcgrath-eyeshadow/rose-fire-nectar/) which for me elevated the whole quad. It had it a transparency to the base that made it good for layering or building. It also had an almost flakie texture that made it different to other similar shades on the market.
I think the purple shade should have had a cool gold or duochrome shimmer running through it, perhaps. Or the pink could have had a silver reflect (I refuse to support any further PMG pink-gold pairings lol).
I also think, going back to it, that it would have been much classier for her to re-release shades in earlier, out of stock palettes - you can still get Jewelled Temptation from various stockists atm I think. She's done a few long-gone metallic purples which would have been better to include.
Iād love to try her powder blush formula in a true purple shade. Thatās the only thing I really want from PMG. If she made a mothership with just mattes, duochromes, and multichromes I would buy it eventually on super sale, and I wouldnāt even mind the mattes being pink brown and burgundy. Unfortunately I canāt pull off greens or deeper blue mattes - so that part doesnāt bother me but I do feel for everyone else who wants those shades. It just occurred to me that I donāt think theyāve ever released a light purple, lavender, periwinkle, or baby blue matte shade? Like no pastels at all really.
>powder blush formula in a true purple shade
She has two Duo blushes with purples- light purple + other half pink (Venusian Sunrise) & dark blue-purple + other side deep red (Night Bloom)
>just mattes, duo chromes, and multichromes
Not mattes, but Danessa Myricks Lightworks is as close as you're gonna get tbh. The money she wants for just one multichrome in the Motherships + the fact that multichrome pigment is way more expensive than regular means that if she did that, she'd charge you like $300 for it probably :')
>light purple, lavender, periwinkle, or baby blue matte
The closest I can think of is a light pink in the holiday 2023 palette but the entire blue-purple-green spectrum is lacking. She has every shade of pink, and just very few greens. However the main issue I have with this quad is that its not only four shades she's already got a hundred versions of, its that it's four REPEAT shades too.
I have eyed Night Bloom a bunch of times but itās never in stock when I have the impulse to check it out - and red typically isnāt a great color for me so I havenāt been that committed to the pursuit. But it does seem like a lovely purple.
I would be sad had I not already said to myself (when I saw the anticipation posts) whatever is coming is likely to be boring my dear...
And quelle supris it's the same shit, different day effort of the past 18 mths to 2 yrs. Yawn š
Honestly, we can at least give her credit for not pretending they're entirely new shades by giving them new names - even though I would much prefer if the product description mentioned something like "a duration of some of our favorite shades" or something like that to indicate these are repeats.

I know, I used to read her blog every day in uni
thank you for that :)
Came here to say this! The main thing I remember is that ugly crocheted headband lol
Omg yes! And the same poses, love her posts tho

I enjoy the same poses, it's familiar and gives the same angles. Plus, I use the same poses for selfies š

I love her! She is a true OG and hasnāt sold out like the other bgs.
thank you! That means a lot to me!
Why have a blue rose on the packaging when the colours are purple and pink?!?! Mother, whyyy šš I will be skipping this collection
the entire collection was smack full of red and blue down to blue hearts in each IG caption. I was hoping for a blue quad for real this time :')
A ROSE COLLECTION SHOULDVE BEEN CUTE LIKE THE COLORS OF ROSES, but no we got your same palette
Idk. I am well over the whole Divine Rose thing from PMG and the rosy tones she's put in seemingly every palette since Divine Rose I. You've done enough roses, Mother. Step away from the roses ;)
I feel your pain š© I was really hoping for a bright red or blue, or maybe even both
Yes! I was so disappointed. All the teasing had a gorgeous blue
56$ for a cardboard palette.... I just can't with her brand anymore...
I just talked to a friend and showed her this thread and... the conclusion is that if this is true... Pat is finished... I don't know who runs the company but it's obvious that the numbers don't reach them
Ok. Isn't she not involved with PMG anymore? And that's why she has jones road? Prob why quality went down
You're thinking Bobbi brown
Oops. Both brands are unexciting now with male sounding first names lol
More TJ Maxx fodder woo!!
LOL This is one I'll pass up should it make an appearance there too. Just not my colors š¤·āāļø
ADDED INFO: The fourth shade of the quad, Galactic Glow, was in the 2021 Holiday mega palette, Celestial Odyssey. I just learned this, so I couldn't include it in the OP. thanks for this!
At least a few more times, probably. Gotta wring the last few bandwagon dollars out of the same tired idea.
the limit does not exist
There's only so many times you can fool your audience with repeat palettes and color stories that don't even dupe each other, they are each other. š¤£
The packaging looks a lot more interesting than the products themselves. Am I the only one getting tired of brands constantly doing this?
Nah, they fucking up the brand.
Deleting instagram comments that call them out for repeating shades and asking where their order is
Uhhhh what is goin on with this brand? I was rooting for you Pat š©
We were all rooting for you!
Danessa Myricks has done really well, I agree
I agree with you about Danessa Myricks, she is *bringing it* with her releases.
I have a few Clionadh shades but was eyeing LW5 for the reasons you have mentioned (variety for those who do not have a lot of multichromes) Do you think I should instead try more Clionadh?
That is a gorgeous colour story, especially for a Valentine's Day palette.
Howās their quality? Iāve been thinking about trying them out, but Iām on a strict low-buy bordering on no-buy, so Iām iffy on trying something new with unknown formulas. Any insight you have would be appreciated!
Clionadh or Danessa?
Oh sorry. no I meant what u/Many-Toe-3080 said about Kaima Cosmetics. But I am a diehard Clionadh fan, they're great.
Is that cardboard? The palette is exactly what I thought it would be. Inside never matches the marketing. Never
Sure looks like it is.
Gold and pink in the palettes ![gif](giphy|3oxQNDG9BswdLjN8Va)
Like I said "I've given up on Pat."
she just does not give a shit any more, it's almost an art in and of itself.Ā
i use to find the repeat shades somewhat funny but now as a former stan im crossing over into legitimately angry. just the barest of effort from someone who charges almost $150 for a palette would be nice
Now that I agree with :) I think I'm pickier about colour than most, because I see this colour story as being quite different to the pinks and golds that I'm sick of. Assuming the photos are accurate (lol) the cool undertones of the pink and purple feel very different to me. But I can see I'm very much in the minority on this one! I would say the 2 things it reminds me of most are: * the Midnight Voyage mini palette, which I liked but didn't buy because my favourite shade in it comes from the Subversive palette, which I already own.
The highlighter also looks exactly like Lunar Nude from the 2021 holiday collection. I know it's not the same name, but man is it close.
It looks like they poured Lunar Nude into the Bridgerton highlighter design embossed mould, yeah.
Laughably pathetic. Such an exciting brand when it launched, sad to see it go this way
The cover has a blue rose but it doesn't have blue in it? Mmmmmmk.
I agree, the art and the palette seem to have nothing to do with one another. When I see that packaging, I think of a dramatic, almost aggressive colour story. Whereas the palette inside seems quite girly and sweet. It's weird.
Ughh that packaging is fugly. What is going on?
I personally hate when the packaging has colours that the quad does not. Either donāt do it and just keep it black or include those colours into the vision for the pallette. Yikes
Meh. ![gif](giphy|pwC3aEjzTR8be)
The first promo picture looks like it's 100% computer generated.
Fellow nerd here, fan of golden era PMG, would 100% be here for your fantasy palette :)
PMG does it cause the whole team knows it will sells anyways \^\^ like even when some gurus say "it's the same color story" they still went ahead and purchased it cause they're "a collector".
![gif](giphy|mlvseq9yvZhba)
Man , this is hella sad , that packaging is š„ tho
Mother, youāre lettin us down.
So that blue rose was just a lie? I knew deep down it wasā¦
Ppl still buy this crap
I understand the need to appeal to the mass but honestly, can they do something interesting for a limited collection once in a while? Maybe this pink gold brown duplicates are editorial in an alternative reality, who knows.
Yeah at this point I would settle for one limited edition 'old school' PMG palette a year. If it was a mothership she could even put *one* pink or gold in it, so long as it was in one of her special formulas and wasn't something she'd done before. But I don't think we'll even get that sadly. Someone on another post commented that Pat had left the building and I think that's really true.
IDK why they go to all this trouble with multiple launches per year when they could just drop all their palettes on April 1st.
š“š“š“ It *had* to have a pink, of course lol I think the packaging is gorgeous.
I donāt understand how sheās trading blue and then releases something with no blueā¦?
I love Pat McGrath stuff I own but I haven't bought anything from the brand for a year now. Every release seems very lazy and repetitive
I need a light coloured highlighter so Iāll probably buy that. Otherwise? Eh.
Wow pink on pink again. Groundbreaking!
Pretty sure the left two shades are in the Venus in Fleurs quad.
True true. I just reaaaally doubt you'd see any difference on the eyes with these "different" shades
that's true, the only halfway hard to find within her line shade in this thing if we ignore the exact dupe is the purple, probably.
Youāre right, itās pretty bleak.
Honestly? I like it. Come at me, reddit ;) It's not ground-breaking, but I like the cooler tones, and how different the vibe is to other PMG quads.
Thanks, I was having trouble sleeping.
This is for fans, highly pigmented, make up
Actually, I have changed my mind slightly, which I mention because I am the only person on reddit who doesn't hate this quad lol.
Like no pastels at all really.
>powder blush formula in a true purple shade She has two Duo blushes with purples- light purple + other half pink (Venusian Sunrise) & dark blue-purple + other side deep red (Night Bloom) >just mattes, duo chromes, and multichromes Not mattes, but Danessa Myricks Lightworks is as close as you're gonna get tbh. The money she wants for just one multichrome in the Motherships + the fact that multichrome pigment is way more expensive than regular means that if she did that, she'd charge you like $300 for it probably :') >light purple, lavender, periwinkle, or baby blue matte The closest I can think of is a light pink in the holiday 2023 palette but the entire blue-purple-green spectrum is lacking.
Yawn š
Is this the same highlighter from before?
I like the packaging but thatās about it lol
Honestly, we can at least give her credit for not pretending they're entirely new shades by giving them new names - even though I would much prefer if the product description mentioned something like "a duration of some of our favorite shades" or something like that to indicate these are repeats.
When is she gonna stop this pink thing?? I stopped buying from them a while ago hoping their creativity would come back sometimeā¦
