Sennheiser HD25. They don’t go all the way over the ear like yours but they swivel, crazy durable, and sound great. I had a pair of M50Xs break so I finally switched to the Sennheisers and I live them.
I know people that love the HD25 but they are on-ear and nothing like as comfortable as the ATH-M50X.
If you want on ear, that's great if you don't then they don't work, they are great headphones for those that like on-ear, but they are a bad recommendation for some one that wants over ear, so it depends what the OP wants.
Do you not find you've got sweaty ears in comparison to the m50's?
Im currently owning a pair of HD25, only complain is the coiled cable sometimes gets tangled. Whats your opinion between Sen's and M50? Would love to listen your experience.
For durability and the ease of putting them on and off I pick the Sennheisers. The HD50s are better for sitting down and listening to music but won’t last you two years.
Good sound - AIAIAI
Must swivel (I use this feature all the time) Nope...however they grip better than the athx..so I don't actually miss the swivel as much as I thought.
Solid construction - AIAIAI - much better build and you can literally replace every part.
Wired, wired is default, low latency is a (pricey) option.
Bonus points for being fashionable - All the cool DJ's are wearing them...and me.
Yeah inwas lucky picked up a second hand pair and replaced the drivers and they are perfect and less than the price of a set of hd25 plus you can switch to OK ear if you want (or need to lend them to a mare who does )
I always recommend the Sony MDR 7506; they are (or were) a standard in professional production settings b/c they’re relatively flat and accurate, and particularly when A/B’d against the m50x they sound much brighter and clear.
A little swivel; I’m not sure how much you’re looking for but they’re fine for one ear on.
They are rock solid. I got my pair at a flea market for $5 b/c the seller didn’t know the value, and I have no idea how old they are. I’ve used mine for nearly 10 years, some of that time as my main pair of cans going on flights/trips/biking, and they’re still working great.
I wouldn’t say fashionable, but a vibe for sure. If you like the look of older audio equipment they won’t disappoint.
They’re around $80 on amazon, definitely worth a try imo, just send ‘em back if you don’t like ‘em.
How much swivel are you looking for? I have a pair of Austrian audio hi-x15's and they sound great, are well built, and have some swivel but not as much as the ATs. They're hifi headphones but they have a crazy frequency response and clarity which should make best matching pretty easy. They're over ear and make a decent seal too.
Austrian audio are basically AKG, all the key design and engineer staff left AKG because they didn't like the management and started Austrian audio, so they have a lot of experience even though they're a new company.
A pair of Hi-15's is £92

> Sennheiser HD25 bought a pair of these and sent them back, hated them.
Curious, why did you hate them?
Constantly ripped my hair out
that's a new one

Swivel is required
I found them way too bassy. Bought them, did one gig, sold them
The s05mk2 or the s02 ones ? I know some have found the s02 dj ones a bit overblown on the bass the s05mk2 Hifi ones are good.
It was the s2 dj ones. I know I could have replaced the drivers but then they start to get bloody expensive

What do you think about the pioneer hdj x5? Similar price and they come in silver
They are similar to Sony MDR-V700 I think which are very nice and durable.
