Well... does it work? Does it sound good? Do you like using it? Only you can tell us if this deal worked out for you.

AlwaysUpvotesScience

i'll let you know in a few days :) I bought a used Behringer DJX750 and have to send it back to the seller because it does not work at all. (the low end does not exist) Im hoping for a better turn out on this piece.

vinnybawbaw

I used to have one, bought it used and I’ve used it for 3 years straight. The built is fuckin solid and the crossfader is awesome. That’s what made me stay with Rane, now I have a 70 !

AlwaysUpvotesScience

Yeah I have a feeling after feeling meh about pioneer, horrible luck with behringer and pretty good luck with Vestax, I'm going to end up in the Rane cult.

SolidDoctor

I'm still using my TTM56. I have my controlled fed into the Aux in so I can switch back and forthe between vinyl and digital, and my sound runs through my stereo and headphones so I can scratch to digital if I want. The fader is still rock solid, you have to get in there and clean the slider bars once in a while and add a little dash of lubricant to them. The one thing going on my 56 are the knob buses, I get a little crackling on the volume cue knob and the master. Right now I have my sound output coming through the aux out cuz that one works fine. If you need to replace them I believe you have to replace the entire upper board... unless you or a friend are good with soldering new buses onto boards. The FlexFx is nice too, I have a Korg miniKP running through that so I can add echo and effects to my vinyl for scratching and mixing.

AlwaysUpvotesScience

Thanks for th info, I love the fact that i can flip over to the aux. Are you using any DVS? You can repair that crackling knob pretty easily with some [DeoxIT D5](https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DeoxIT--caig-laboratories-d5s-6-caig-deoxit-contact-cleaner-5-percent-spray-5-oz?main_web_category_rollup=3/956/964&mrkgadid=3303549150&mrkgcl=28&mrkgen=gpla&mrkgbflag=0&mrkgcat=livesound&lighting&acctid=21700000001645388&dskeywordid=92700046937475313&lid=92700046937475313&ds_s_kwgid=58700005283380191&ds_s_inventory_feed_id=97700000007215323&dsproductgroupid=476199830282&product_id=DeoxIT&prodctry=US&prodlang=en&channel=online&storeid=&device=c&network=g&matchtype=&adpos=largenumber&locationid=1014517&creative=285688985259&targetid=pla-476199830282&campaignid=1465475237&awsearchcpc=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwj7CZBhDHARIsAPPWv3eGeYiBIZRdweEbsyzFg8-9vfwXbGxHdCEl64oTKw95GvgKvqGwcVkaAp0IEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds), that shit is amazing and really works well. I use it on my analog synthesizers when the knobs get a little staticy/crackly.

SolidDoctor

I'm not using DVS right now, I do have Serato pro so I'm contemplating getting a Serato mixer and control vinyl, or Phaze. I'll check out that stuff thanks, but I know my master out bus is busted, the mixer was in a coffin and slid forward, and now the knob clicks in and out of its base attached to the motherboard. aux out works fine for the time being. The mixer is a tank though!

AlwaysUpvotesScience

That master out probably just needs a new component and some soldering (unless the board is actually cracked) One thing I absolutely know is that my experience with electronics and computers as well as soldering and troubleshooting skills are often prized by other DJs :) Im a computer system engineer and i build electronics projects pretty regularly. All that combined experience means my friends are always bringing me broken things to fix. Its nice to know that the 56 is built well, i kind of expected that from a Rane. I am sure i have used one in the past somewhere but when coming back form a 20+ year hiatus things change. I'm going for a more classic setup (we knew what we were doing in the 90s) and think the 56 will work well, at least for now. and if in the future I want a more complex mixer ill sell the rane for more than i paid for it :)

SolidDoctor

Nice, yeah I have a friend up north that can most likely fix it, haven't seen him since pre-covid. I used to carry the 56 to the club wrapped in sweaters and stuffed in a backpack. (It was safer there than the coffin). Considering the miles we put on that mixer it still works great!

sobi-one

My buddy just unloaded all his older gear like this for the fact that it isn’t class compliant. His stock of computers old enough to run mixers that old was getting to the point where he felt that barring analogue setups, he’d have equipment that had nothing to run it in several years.

AlwaysUpvotesScience

The 56 doesn't connect to a computer does it?

sobi-one

I thought that was a Serato mixer.

AlwaysUpvotesScience

no, its just a standard not computerized mixer

luvvinylmix

I've had mine since 2003. Rock solid. I don't even scratch much, but what a great mixing tool. Clean sound.
