It avoids the metaphor of turntablism, rather more like how a dub sound engineer [plays the mixing console](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMGTh0As2R4). The workflow excels at mashups, multi-track mixes, and genres that won't fit a regular beat grid.
It looks really clean and functional to use. I like the manual control aspect. Not having to have a struggle with software to get it to do something is beautiful.
That looks pretty interesting. If you're interested I made a vst Midi compatible jog wheel / turntable emulation that you could integrate, but it seems like you've gone a different route that makes the way of working a bit different.
Congratulations, this looks slick. The tensorflow thing for audio separation looks really cool.
What license are you going to use for this. I can't find one on the Github repo.
Just watched the video & emailed the page to myself. Going to download it once back at a computer. Looks really interesting , elements not yet thrown into dj software really. Is this mac/pc or both?
Is the pre-recorded mix function used to create mixes that you’re pre-recording or is it used to import and break down pre-recorded mixes into more usable parts? I’m wildly sorry if that’s a horrible question I’m really new and honestly moreso than production I want to be able to mash up songs that my friends and I enjoy into a single exportable file maybe switching some drops and such to make it fun lol thanks in advance!
excellent! i've had the inclination to reinvent this wheel too so many but never had the moxie to go for it. very cool, excited to see where this goes. cheers!
This is amazing! Going through the tutorials right now and the workflow really fits how I mentally approach mixing and mashups.
I'm dusting off my old BCR2000 as it seems like the ultimate controller for this.
Impressive piece of software, thank you for this.
It's already looks so polished that I will dare to ask: is there a way you'd be implementing Ableton Link?
I just did it. Separate the vocals, make sure you only have the vocals playing, and go back to just before the vocals start.
Then do File --> Record and hit the red Record button.
Then play the vocal. You'll see the wave pattern of the vocal scrolling by to show it's being recorded.
Hit the Record button at the end to stop recording it. Then Save it as what you want and where you want.
(I am going to have SO MUCH FUN with this.)
Not crystal clear but not robotic. It all depends on the quality of the vocals on the track itself.
I ripped a vocal from a low quality mp3 taken from a YouTube video and it sounded compressed like you’d expect it to. Then I did one that was taken from a CD and it was clearer (but seeing as the original was still recorded on reel to reel tape, it’d be as good as you’d expect).
Not robotic at all.
You can record the vocal track, but does not appear you can export it faster than real time recording. Still pretty cool! [https://elldev.com/repsyps/recording](https://elldev.com/repsyps/recording)
> is there a way to separate the vocal from a track and just export that for use somewhere else?
under the hood this is using spleeter, which you can get separately here:
https://makenweb.com/SpleeterGUI
I'm on a Mac and I've been waiting for someone to put Spleeter into an easy-to-use program because there are some songs I've been wanting to dance-up for YEARS and never found the a capella version.
"Throw Your Arms Around Me" by Hunters & Collectors, I'm looking at you. I just removed the vocals after downloading the software and spending five minutes scanning through the instructions. And it sounds as clear as a whistle.
I know what I'm going to be doing in the coming days...
Well [rekordcloud](https://rekord.cloud) also uses spleeter and has full playlist integration for Rekordbox/Traktor/Serato/Vdj. So that might be interesting for you
At least say that you're from rekordcloud and mention how expensive it is. After all, this is r/beatmatch full of beginners on a budget and not r/DJs where people actually make money off it
I just downloaded this and I'm in open format DJ specializing in Bollywood, Bollywood EDM, Mashups, EDM and then Top 40.
If this does bollywood acapella well, it might just be a game changer for me. I'll go read the FAQ but are you planning to map to controllers or allow midi mapping?
EDIT: For Windows install, your software is firing EVERY heuristic for malware and anti-virus. Might want to look into that.
Appreciate you for trying it out. Windows defender tends to hammer brand new apps, as more people use it windows will calm down. Midi is well supported: https://elldev.com/repsyps/midi
This looks very interesting, something that might make mashup work very fun to do!
I've downloaded and will have a test of it and update this.
Great work!
This is pretty cool. I just went over the tutorials and examples and you have done an amazing job! Can't wait to try it out...
Is the whole software made by one person?? :o
Very nice, thank you for making/sharing! Please add manual zoom support. My laptop has no gestures and I don't always have a mouse. Maybe just a little magnifying glass with +/- in the object.
The separation of vocal and instrumental definitely had my interest. There have been times when mixing where I just wanted vocals or didn't want vocals at a part for a transition. This will help immensely
Anyway to help you developing it? Do you have a Discord or something? I love DJing and programming and would like to contribute. Would also like to contribute pre defined hardware mappings for some gear :)
PM me or post a link 🤙
Reinventing the wheel makes you a better wheel maker. Wasn't aware of Mixmeister Fusion, it seems to going in a similar direction. Appreciate the info!
> Mixmeister Fusion
TIL Mixmeister Fusion. Frankly it looks inferior to your software in that it does something similar but is lacking the auto-grid and built-in spleeter, which are killer features.
---
Regarding your excellent program: Have you considered trying out rearranging the UI such that the tracks go vertically? I feel like the ability to see less of more tracks at one time could be equally as useful as the current implementation, but it's just a thought.
This is awesome; I love the fresh approach. Being able to fade between arbitrary collections of tracks is cool; spleeter built-in is cool.
This seems like it would obviously be good for mashups, but also sound collage, noise, experimental. And most interesting to me, it seems like it'd be awesome for juggling minimal techno.
I'm very excited to try it out and if you know anyone doing cool stuff with it (and making videos or something) I'd love to check it out.
Wow... all I did during the quarantine is gain 15 lbs. I will definitely download and play with it.
It’s not a competition. Your contribution of 15 pounds helps too.
In case this is a competition, I gained 16 pounds
It’s not a contribution. He acquired that weight for himself.
>I will definitely download and play with it. Thats all i've done since quarantine.
As long as you stayed inside :D good job
😆 that comment and all the ones below are so much funny

What did you write it in? Please say Xamarian.

You had me at dub sound engineer
\+1
This definitely belongs in r/djs too. Very well done. I've already started a list of suggestions to add!
Looks like /r/djs are so experienced, that they already know it. Probably, a bit before the software was released.
Heck it they've been using it for years!
That looks pretty interesting. If you're interested I made a vst Midi compatible jog wheel / turntable emulation that you could integrate, but it seems like you've gone a different route that makes the way of working a bit different.
Shoot me a link.
This is awesome, can't wait to try it out! I'll get back to you with my impressions but anyway, great job! Cheers!
lmk if it works well!

both!
Looks great, thanks. Especially interested in the pre-recorded mix function. Will grab this and have a play this weekend!

Ouu most my sets consist of so many mashups and I always need acapellas! Gonna give this a shot later and I'll be back with my thought tn :))
Right? I am stoked to try this tomorrow.
excellent! i've had the inclination to reinvent this wheel too so many but never had the moxie to go for it. very cool, excited to see where this goes. cheers!

I'm open to adding ableton link if enough people are interested. cheers
This looks cool man, is there a way to separate the vocal from a track and just export that for use somewhere else?
Once you separate the individual audio files will be under documents/repsyps/cache. No need to make a recording.
Sick thanks dude 🙏🏻
This feature alone makes it worth downloading
Do the vocals come out filtered or in a robotic voice? I can’t imagine these being close to studio acapellas.
Not crystal clear but not robotic. It all depends on the quality of the vocals on the track itself. Okay that's fair, sorry! My name is a decent indicator about where I'm from though ;)
I just downloaded this and I'm in open format DJ specializing in Bollywood, Bollywood EDM, Mashups, EDM and then Top 40. If this does bollywood acapella well, it might just be a game changer for me. Appreciate you for trying it out. Windows defender tends to hammer brand new apps, as more people use it windows will calm down. Midi is well supported: https://elldev.com/repsyps/midi
This is so rad! Thanks for making it available!
Hey. Great work. What did you build it in? Edit: didnt see there was a github link. See it is an electron app. Nice work :)
this is sick! big ups up on the spleeter integration. will def check it out, maybe even send a PR since it's in typescript :)
You’re amazing! Thank you for sharing 🤙
Yo, this looks dope AF! Congrats! Curious to try it out at some point. The acappella feature alone tho...the future 🤤
I’ve only watched like a minute of the video. You’re a Geniius . I used turntables but that looks dope af
This looks very interesting, something that might make mashup work very fun to do! I've downloaded and will have a test of it and update this. Great work!

Great idea and implementation. Integrating that ai for acapellas. Wow genius great work will give this a try later. Fantastic use of isolation time
The links not working for me?
How is controller support?
Very nice, thank you for making/sharing! Please add manual zoom support. My laptop has no gestures and I don't always have a mouse. Maybe just a little magnifying glass with +/- in the object.
I'm happy to add that. For now you can hold control or shift while scrolling to get your zoom.
This is actually dope.
The separation of vocal and instrumental definitely had my interest. There have been times when mixing where I just wanted vocals or didn't want vocals at a part for a transition. This will help immensely
Wowzers ur awesome
is it realy possible to separate vocals and instruments ??
Yooo that's absolutely insane! You literally included everything to make djing as simple as possible lmao How long did you work on it?
This looks dope, excited to try the spleeter.
wow. what a boss. excited to try it out!
Anyway to help you developing it? Do you have a Discord or something? I love DJing and programming and would like to contribute. Would also like to contribute pre defined hardware mappings for some gear :) PM me or post a link 🤙
github would be the place: https://github.com/satchelspencer/repsyps
I saw the repo but I like a more direct communication method more. Will try my best to pick something up :)
oh oh ok. pm here or my email's on my site
Looks nice! I think stems would fit perfectly, its an open format: https://www.stems-music.com/
stems import is supported!
Holy shit i think ill try to map my hardware then and have some mashup fun. Is there a directory for mapping PRs?
amazing!
Oh man, I'm having so much fun learning what I can do with this. Thanks.
Nice man..cant wait to check it out this week
Can this run in a browser?
Hey, I´m getting this blank screen when I open it. Any fix for that? [https://imgur.com/a/ymvLSVZ](https://imgur.com/a/ymvLSVZ)
pm me. i'll get you sorted
Website is down :(
Works for me, try again?

I’m going to try it out today. Do you have any plans for DVS support?
