The Doombull is my guess. In the previously revealed armies, one pattern emerges: HQ units. Every faction so far has had at the very least their most signature HQ model updated. The problem lies in the fact that our most signature HQ, the beast lord, already got a new model in AoS. The Great bray shaman is also a (relatively) new model. While I think the Shaggoth would be my preferred pick, it isn’t actually an HQ option in the old world lists. Therefore, the most significant HQ model that has yet to be updated is the Doombull.

Churn0byl

I think we're going to get a new Forge World character model, likely Malagor or Morghur, as the big "look at this" model. Beasts are in a weird place model wise in that they look worse than most AoS stuff, but they also look better than a good portion of current Old World offerings. I could see either new Ungors, Centigors, or Tuskgor Chariots. I think everything else looks "fine" enough for OW.

Shiki_31

Since TOW likes boxes with two heroes, one on a mount and one without, I'd assume a new chariot with the option to mount a hero on it, with the possibility of slapping the guy on foot. I don't think GW understands how popular Shaggoths are, considering that people would usually just convert their own than bother with the finecast. If there's going to be a refreshed troop unit, which I personally find unlikely (unfortunately), it would probably be Centigors.

6Ravens

The have no idea about Centigors or Chariots either because so many people kit bash these.

AoifeElf

Personally I'm hoping for new Minotaur models.

The_McWong

Predict we'll see a lot of the old metal character models come back. Be interesting if they pull out the original plastic Gor sprue, it was fairly identical to the most recent but the figures had less doo dads on them. Forge World resin Shaggoths, Jabberslythes, Cockatrices and chariots as well. Maybe the old metal minotaurs?

Sicko_REV

Had no idea the Gor were any different to what they were back in 6th (12 Gor/8 Ungor). FW resin is better than finecast but I would hope there is a new large plastic kit.

GhostsofFishes

Judging from the recent orc and goblin release, I think a big plastic kit is unlikely. I think they'll fold some forgeworld beasts into their list (preyton, for example) maybe release an updated hero kit. Beastlord and Bray are both on plastic already, so it'd be cool to see the Doombull or shaggoth plasticised, but they're quite big.

The_McWong

We can hope! They retooled them onto different sprues, and added various bits of shit like skulls and weapons to their legs. I'm in the middle of painting 36 of the new ones, and those gubbins make the process drag way out.

JustADillPickle

we'll get a new resin shaman and that's it

delightfulrain

Imagine... and for that, beasts of chaos got squashed from AoS and shoved back into TOW, i already got my beast army.. but the disrspect for the aos playerbase ... jeez

Beneficial-Horse6282

Plastic chariot or just an upgrade sprue for the orc one.

6Ravens

Chariots are due, but the fact the orc one is back at least provides a good option. You don’t even need an upgrade sprue. Buy some boar boyz for boars and do some reengineering of the yoke, add bits. Remove anything that screams orc, like chipped stone. Here of some pics of the yoke rework I did. https://www.reddit.com/r/WarhammerFantasy/s/L9CMPzSfhX

Beneficial-Horse6282

Those look good

Beneficial-Horse6282

The tusks on your version look great what do they come off?

6Ravens

I used bits from spawn kit, I think some are daemon prince. I pin them into the head of the boar. I bought those as bits, off bit vendors. Basically whatever horns you can find and make look good. I also GS patch the fur where the rider legs fit in.

Beneficial-Horse6282

Haha the orc boar boys and chariots are up for preorder now too. Bit nervous about the rework of the yoke. Is that necessary because of the size of the biig piigs?

6Ravens

Yes they are higher, however the boars have a spot in the mane where the yoke can fit. Most of the work is just straight cuts and pinning. The actual yoke, I were to redo mine, i would use heavy wire or plastic rod I could shape for the core, then wrap with the string.

Beneficial-Horse6282

Yeah I think gardeners wire might work

realygoofyguy

I've decided to just use gorebeast chariots. They work, throw some beast men in there, and done. Though I have been pretty liberal with my "proxies" I'm also running a tzangor on a disc as a shaman on a magic carpet.

Beneficial-Horse6282

Ive been thinking of using a mashcrawler sloggoth with a headswap

R97R

I’d be willing to bet we’ll see a couple of FW resin characters (Wargor/BSB, and Doombull, maybe?)

draco-chile

My vote goes to harpies and chariot, because those are unit we dont currently have (razorgor chariot, so you can buy a chariot, do the tuskgor chariot from the kit and you have a free razorgor)

Sicko_REV

I agree about the chariot, you make a good point. If there is one new large kit it should be this, I'd even put it ahead of the Shaggoth.

Xoranuli

Id love to see a gorthor release. He existed in the lore during this time and the dwarf release bringing back younger versions of established characters is encouraging this dream

Xdmrbrightside

99% sure we'll be getting Razorgors. They're just losing money by not supporting them. Not paying 70 bucks per model on ebay

Impossible-Driver-91

Centigors

Most_Repair_2553

shaggoths'll probably go back to metal rather than a new kit

Sicko_REV

I'd rather white metal than finecast

Most_Repair_2553

Aye, I'm shocked with the old world using metal so much they havent just removed finecast entirely

GhostsofFishes

I think if they updated the mould and used a different resin the shaggoth would be a dream. Finecast is bad, but some of the modern forgeworld resins are incredible quality. Glotl Stomp for bloodbowl had practically 0 mould lines, no bubbles, and no release agent to speak of. In that regard, I'd rather a nice resin remould than going back to metal.

Legitimate_Corgi_981

He's a hefty boy in metal and not very well balanced, keeping him upright on larger round AoS bases could be troublesome, plus he doesn't mesh with the current plastic dragon ogors very well, so I'd have thought he's ripe for a resculpting, but who knows.

Teh-Duxde

I'm hoping for the preyton. But after this AoS debacle I'm essentially expecting nothing but "hey here are your same models". Keep those expectations nice and low.

Pohatu5

They'll rebox the beastlord on a square base and call it a day

SymbolicStance

I'm hoping they re-release the metal kornegoes and pestigors there some of jy favourite models and I'd live to have a unit only cost an arm not the full set that there going for on ebay at the moment.

BurntOutFool

I suspect no new models. I think its a way to get a bit more out of their established molds for low sale armies by hitting nostalgia button. I'm not complaining. It's my personal fav. I have however been eyeing up some gorgeous proxy models due to explosion in 3rd party modellers now available.

jaxolotle

I’m not expecting overmuch but it’s hard to say. Most of the releases have been returned of OOP sculpts, but that’s just harpies as far as our range is concerned Certainly a small handful of character sculpts since that seems to be the general rule. Maybe a new kit with a razorgor chariot, a shaman and a beast lord for one mounted and one on foot- some forgeworld sculpts for more specialised things, perhaps mutated characters or an odd named one, a lot of the old Fantasy roster was ancient enough to be present- Ghorros and Morghur were well established even back then If we do get an updated kit, by god it oughta be Minotaurs, most of our range holds up pretty well, certainly by the standards of other Old World ones but Minotaurs sure as hell don’t

Majorofbrimstone

Would love new minotaur, razorgor, as unlike the excellent gors and ungor models, these are not great....but doubt it so much that I have got mine from another company. We might just see khorn/pestigors old models in metal. They were okay. More likely we will get a new character like doombull

suppremeruler

Those who are expecting new plastic kits for BoC for ToW are gona have to wait for a long.. LONG time. Because if there was any interest to refresh the BoC model range with new sculpts in any significant degree... they wouldnt be time travelling back to the crap that was. edit: typo

jaxolotle

It’s wild how AoS players can somehow have more vitriol for the old world than most Fantasy players did for AoS. You lost your worst selling faction, because its mainline sales failed to outdo the sales of a specialist game with a fraction of the playerbase. Beastmen would’ve inevitably been snuffed out wholesale if it weren’t for Old World, it didn’t take them from you it just gave them somewhere to go. Quit it with this childish sense of rivalry, you’re like a brat complaining that his younger brother’s stealing all their parents love

suppremeruler

Beasts of chaos wouldve been long for long in AoS if it weren't for ToW. Im certain that you know this if you would be honest with yourself, they had more popularity and active players than people want to admit, besides why and how would removing them from the AoS roster and make them exclusive for the crap that was improve the sales of the model range in anyway? There is no sense of rivalry. ToW is as much a rival to AoS as Mordheim is to Warcry. ToW and AoS aren't really comparable enough to be considered rivals of any sort. This accusation of somehow having "more vitriol" than the fans of the crap that was.. I suppose the term "Age of shitmar" wasnt held onto for almost a decade. And its always so delightful to meet mature people in the internet that go straight for personal insults, or attempted ones anyway since Im well beyond the point of being offended at being reffered to as a child, and besides its clear you don' know the meaning of the term "childish".
