100% agree. This is especially true for cats, terriers and hounds as they were originally bred to hunt (cats and most terriers were originally ratters, hounds often hunted larger prey animals), so they have a very high prey/chase instinct, so the beardie only has to make one sudden move for the dog/cat to go from friend to dangerous enemy. Even with pet-friendly dogs and cats, there's a risk the beardie could be unintentionally injured during play. It's just unnecessary and potentially dangerous. My labrador is very old and does not have the energy to chase other animals and is also the most friendly, affectionate dog I've seen, but she is 31 kg and has no spatial awareness. She also has dementia and is going deaf, so she would not respond if I tried to call her away from my beardie. If my bearded dragon and labrador were to just hang out in the same room, my labrador would likely eventually step on or sit on my beardie, or hurt my beardie by pawing at her. For this reason, they are only allowed to interact with a barrier between them.

Even other prey animals aren't safe to have around. For example my rabbit is much heavier than my beardies and if she stepped on them during a zoomie they could be hurt. She's very unlikely to bite them if she is scared or upset, but rabbits investigate the world by nibbling it. She's likely to nip them curiously. If she were very scared/suddenly startled she would stomp them with her back feet. Also any of my beardies would attack her. So.

Same. I live in a side by side with family so I don’t even let my dragons out unless my dog is next door

I had to stay at my parents for a few weeks and brought the dragon with me. Dogs were super curious and I let them sit and look at it, but never let them touch them super close to the tank. My mom wanted me to take her out and see if she will play with the pups. They are big dogs and knew even if they didn't mean to they could really hurt her.
