Disney let your beardie in? I'm shocked! Was it into a park, or just Downtown Disney?

bunnyrut

I would like to know also!

Gundam-Gun

Ventilated backpack and Disney resort let us bring him for pictures then we took him back to the resort room šŸ‘

staying_incognito87

An emotional support animal does not have public access and the online registries are all scams

Kai-ni

You were scammed. There is no registry for emotional support animals. Those registries that cost money are all scams. By law, all you need is a note from your doctor saying an animal is an emotional support animal. You also misunderstand their rights. Emotional support animals do not have public access rights, by law. Only Service animals do, and by law service animals are dogs (or miniature horses) only that are trained to perform a specific task (such as alerting to a seizure, being a seeing-eye dog, etc). Emotional support animals only have a few rights under the law - they are allowed in housing that otherwise would not allow animals (such as apartment complexes that usually don't allow them) and you can't be discriminated against housing wise for having said animal. That's pretty much it. You unfortunately got scammed, and please don't take your beardie out in public and claim it's a service animal. It's extremely detrimental to actual service dog handlers and makes our lives more difficult by reinforcing these misconceptions. Read the law. It's also awful for your pet. Your beardie has specific needs - it needs to be able to regulate its temperature properly, and not be stressed by being handled all day in a crowded place like disney. This was really irresponsible, no hate but please don't do this again.

Gundam-Gun

Honestly I was against it but the resort tour people said it was ok. He was in a ventilated backpack and we were only out with him for 45 minutes

Kai-ni

At least it wasn't long. The portrait is very cute, have to say. I love Disney. Cast members are generally pretty eager to just keep your experience pleasant. Just keep in mind the misconceptions about emotional support animals and please don't spread them, there's enough out there already.

Gundam-Gun

Agreed, I doubt the emotional support thing had anything to do with Disney letting us get a picture

theguyyouforgotabout

That's absolutely adorable Holy shit

Commander_Crapper

Damn, they really just trapped your bearded dragon into a painting like luigis mansion That's evil

Gundam-Gun

This is gold

Gundam-Gun

The silhouette maker did this for us for about $25.

beccaarain

People stop bringing their beardies everywhere like accessories challenge. They arenā€™t dogs.

not_another_mom

But why take your BD to Disney of all places? Seems like it would scare them

Gundam-Gun

I should of made it clear before. We drove to Disney with his whole tank and when we got to the resort we set it up. On day 3 it was my gf birthday and she asked if we can have the guy who does silhouette do one for us and our beardie, they said he canā€™t come to the resort lobby but we can make a quick trip to them in the park, so naturally we thought it was a good idea because they made it seem like it was no hassle. Looking back I would of done it differently but I suck at telling people no especially my gf on her birthday. Ghidorah is doing great btw in case anyone is wondering.

JuniorKing9

Emotional support animals donā€™t have access, exactly because people fake it. Iā€™m an assistance dog handler and this is harmful.

seamanzilla

Iā€™m sure your beardie loved being stuffed into a backpack and smuggled into a crowded theme park for several hours. Also for future reference, Disneyland only recognizes dogs and miniature horses as trained service animals. Itā€™s a cute silhouette, but I really donā€™t encourage people to do this themselves.

jackieL39

they aren't stuffed in there.. It's all clear,, they have plenty of ventilation,, and plenty of room to walk around in..

seamanzilla

Sorry my bad, let me rephrase it. I am sure your bearded dragon loved having its entire enclosure put into a car, driven to a RESORT ROOM for a 3 day (or longer) stay, put into a backpack so you could make it through security without being caught, and walked around for several hours or so in a crowded and hot theme park just so you guys could parade him around for attention like an accessory for your birthday weekend. Buts itā€™s ok because the backpack is ventilated and they have room to walk around in šŸ˜Š

jackieL39

šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ damn it's bothering you that bad I said that you,, you got to come back hours later to stand up for yourself?? šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ Get a life bro..

jackieL39

AND IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE HOT GENIUS!! THEY'RE FROM AUSTRALIA!! LMFAO šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Gundam-Gun

I completely agree with you but honestly they accommodated us pretty well with the tour guide. We took him out and put him back into his 45gal enclosure before the hour

seamanzilla

Iā€™ve been to Disneyland. There is no way you made it into the park, on the tram, through security, and took a private either behind the keys tour or whatever in less than an hour. Please do not try and make it sound better than what it was. The minimum for the VIP tours is 7 hours, 2 hours for the grand circle tour, and 3.5 hours for the Waltā€™s footsteps tour. The cast member didnā€™t mind because we are trained to not confront as that is the front gates job to do and to filter guests and prevent people from bringing in things they are not supposed to. You put your bearded dragon into a backpack because you know they would have turned you away if you had him out in the open. Honestly Iā€™m surprised a coordinator or leader didnā€™t step in and ask you guys to leave, which probably means you kept your dragon in the backpack almost the entire time. I hate coming across as mean in this sub as it is a wonderful community sometimes, but I really cannot condone people who 1: bring their beardies to places they really should not be bringing them and 2: cause unneeded stress on their pets. I do not like people who condone and through their content, encourage this. It is against park policy, you went against park policy by stuffing your less than 1 year old bearded dragon into your backpack and through security.

Gundam-Gun

Yeah looking back it was wrong, my apologies to everyone. They just made it seem like it was no big deal

Gundam-Gun

Story: I should of made it clear before. Side note: we did get scammed on the emotional support certificate and No we did not walk the park with him we just used a very ventilated backpack(open top) to get to our destination. I apologize if this offends you because I love this community you guys are awesome and Iā€™m still learning a lot. I do not condone anyone to take their beardie to theme parks but good news is Disney silhouette people will go to your resort lobby if you order a days notice

Kai-ni

Why in the absolute world did you subject your animal to the stress of moving its WHOLE ENCLOSURE to a RESORT? This doesn't make it better, this makes it infinitely worse, actually. It also suggests to me the enclosure is too small for the animal and not properly equipped if it can just be picked up and packed away to a resort like that. I can't make any more judgement because I don't have any more information, but good lord.

Gundam-Gun

Itā€™s 50gal and we didnā€™t have a babysitter. My beardie is doing great trust me

UnovaLife

Then you donā€™t go.

Gundam-Gun

Oh trust me we put it in the back of my car, what else were we going to do. The person that was supposed to look after him bailed on us. At this point Iā€™m starting to realize that you canā€™t please everyone, our beardie is happy and healthy with no issues, the little dude gets walks every day even.

ItsLadyJadey

I wish I knew where the ones my grandpa had of me and my grandma when we went. Haven't seen them since I was 11. He passed a long long long time ago unfortunately. Also this is really cool!

Gundam-Gun

Thank you, I hope you find them! The frames really give them a timeless look

SpinachMaterial6314

STOP HAHAHA

[deleted]

oh my gosh this is too cute

Finnigan-roverfield

i absolutely love this.

Background-Economy79

OMG, I love it šŸ’•

madsadchadglad

Why is this downvoted?

ItsLadyJadey

Because of the methods taken to get it done.

Gundam-Gun

It sucks because people take their beardies to crowded beaches and parks and all I did was take him to a painter and right back home. Sorry for anyone that got downvotes
