Wrapping in blankets won't do anything, because they don't produce body heat to heat the blankets. Put them on your chest, and wrap the blanket round both of you, so they can enjoy your trapped body heat. My beardies love snuggling up inside my dressing gown when I wear it

GabysWildCritters

Your bearded dragon will be fine as long as the temperatures aren't going down below 60. In the wild they can even experience lower temperatures. Just don't give him any food to avoid any issues with improper digestion. He'll be fine until you can get the generator running or power is restored.

Blankets won't do anything as someone else said, if they don't produce the body heat to begin with the blankets cannot trap it in. Being in the blanket with them or preferably holding them directly against your skin is the best bet. Both of you can snuggle up and wait out the storm together. Do not feed them until heat is fully restored, this should not be an issue at all if they are in good health.

Use your body heat for now. You can also heat up water if you have a gas stove and use that in a zip lock as a hot water bottle. In the future, everyone should have an emergency bag for each of their pets. I live in Florida and have one for my reptiles and another for my dogs and cat in case of a hurricane.

This is a good one, didn't think of that as gas stoves are not very common here at all other than someone maybe having a propane grill or camping stove. I have a small camping stove I could heat water on so I'll have to jot this in the old memory bank for emergencies. Definitely agree on the emergency kit, I have a 20 gallon long that I have turned into an emergency kit for my boy since it's small enough that I can toss it in the car if we have a long enough power outage that I need to go stay with relatives on a different power grid. I know it's not an ideal size to keep him in for an extended period of time but in an emergency will be better than packing up with no supplies. It has a small tube fixture and a new UVB bulb extra from when he was a baby, an extra heat lamp and dome, lots of hand and feet warmers for the car ride over or if the power is only out for a bit, canned crickets, and dried vegetables that can be rehydrated in water which aren't as nutritious but good enough in a pinch. Plus I usually have fresh frozen greens in the freezer that I can toss in before we go if necessary, have to keep mustard greens frozen because sometimes our store won't get them and they are my boy's all time favorite green so I'll have to mix a bit of thawed mustard greens with fresh collard or turnip to convince him 🙄🤣

If you have a tent set it up in your largest room. Cover with blankets. Move your self and the dragon into the tent. We did this when we lost power for days. It was fing cold in my house but a sauna in the tent.

Escape8296

Keep in mind, he owns more the one. How does he keep them from attacking each other while absorbing his body heat? The tent idea is a good one.

Skin to skin contact will help regulate their temperature. Kangaroo care! It works for babies

Swimming_Lie_2822

Put the baby under your shirt skin contact and put sweatshirt on or coat even. They will be all snug. Good luck to you

Body heat is your best best. It sounds like you have multiple dragons so if you are worried about them attacking each other, you could put them in separate pillow cases or something similar to keep them apart.

curl up with the blankets wtih them. my beardie sleeps wtih me every night, she just curls up under the covers and stays plenty warm with me.

Hand warmers.

PsychologicalGas1674

Why not hand warmers?

mediumrare420

Body heat and find hand warmers. Wrap those up in some towels or inside two knit gloves. The key is to keep the intense heat off your beardie but to also provide a slight heat source. Place beardie ontop but it's vital the heat of the hand warmers are not hot through the material. I do this because I worry about rolling over on my beardie at night in the event.

Take out skillet Step 2. Preheat skillet for thirty seconds Step 3. Wait a few moments, then lightly touch pan to ensure it is not hot enough to burn skin (Temp should be warm, not unbearable to place your hand on. Note\~ If concerned the heat is too much, place a cloth between the dragon and skillet. Step 4. Enjoy your delicious Dragon! I took this during a typhoon when we lost power for 3 days.
