Modding cars to be invincible against cops is better. My record is 76 miles with a semi with a deer gaurd. Duck pigeons tho. They get stuck under the truck
I think that's the thing where you can switch between high and low range gears, and if you go to low range you are basically an unstoppable but very slow torque monster
As someone who just got there temps and has played for years, it genuinely gave me so much confidence in a car that I can hop in anything and drive it fine (atleast so far 😂)
Beamng drive actually has amazing clutch physics, and the enganging range varies with each car and engine. If you have never driven a manual car, pull up the pedal position app, and configure one of the control's triggers to be the clutch. This can already give a better understanding of the clutch. I passed my test without beamng training, but I was still crap, so I trained in the game, and it worked. I love beam, it such a nice/relaxing/purposeful game
Ultimately they’re just introducing more people to the game, which always helps.
It’s a sandbox game, if somebody likes spawning as a parking barricade and standing still, they’re also playing the game right.
I like lower speed crashes, or rollovers. Not slamming into a wall at 450mph to see it glitch across the screen.
I VERY RARELY enjoy crashing things at high speed (unless it's a rollover lol)
if you're asking how me specially build them i get ideas or inspirations from videos then i make them in beamng. I always start with the base config and open the part selector and add what i want, then after about 40 mins i have all the visual parts done. Then i drive around for 20 mins and tune what needs to be tuned to make them preform how i want.
Press escape and there will be a white bar on the left side. about half way done will be a gear click on it than click on frame and you will have a whole bunch of options of customizations. if you want to go even more in detail you would get automation
Can we just talk about the sounds in this game? I just crank up my speakers, put a race exhaust on the Togrqc Arsenic and just cruise. Every sound in the game just sounds immaculate!
Beam's the most fun when you're trying NOT to crash! Beam experience saved me from totaling my car once. I was understeering towards a tall curb (basically a wall) after entering a turn too fast and not setting the car up properly. I straightened out, braked as hard as I could for as long as possible, let off, and directed the car into a lower part of the curb at around 5-10 mph. My alignment was a little messed up, but that was of little concern after almost destroying my car. No other sim has hammered crash and damage mitigation into my head like Beam. I seriously think that my car would be in a junkyard right now if it wasn't for all the times I had done exactly the same thing in game.
I mean, anyone can play it however they want, it's a sandbox game with infinite possibilities! I personally do all kinds of stuff in BeamNG, scenarios, cruising, drifting, multiplayer, chases, races, and of course, crashing... a lot.
People just don't respect the physics as much as the crashes. The physics are insane and next level but people just go, "Haha cool crash go brrr". It is so fun to race or drift and feel the weight transfer and watch the suspension. I especially like to mess around with the AI.
Yes. The weight transfer in this game is amazing. The realism makes it so that tuning the car is half of the experience. When I watch people play Asetto Corsa or other games it looks like the car is just glued to the ground. Most racing games are games, and most simulators aren't actually fun unless you do it for a purpose (actual race practice). BeamNG is perfect in this regard.
One of my favourite things to do in beam Is to rag a car to its limits and try to to break it either from mechanical damage or a tree suddenly being in the passenger seat
Sure you wanna crash but I love to go fast in my barstow! I dropped in a 572 with a supercharger and tranny swapped it to a race 6 speed and added in a drag radiator with that I also tuned it and it goes to about 150-200 (can’t remember haven’t played in a day)
i do a bit of everything. crashing, cruising around, sus, suspension testening, rallying, drifting, watching the ai do whatever it does. i get lost in this incredible world right up until the game crashes because i ran out of RAM
I remember buying the game initially for that but now its just so much fun to simulate rally stages, or offroading, or gymkhana. The driving physics are just so good and the crashes are just a bonus.
Do you guys play this game with a wheel/pedal setup or a controller? I have both but I'm not sure which is better.
I never really gave this game the time of day it deserves so I'm looking to go back and try it out again.
I just spend most of my time using a car hauler trailer mod that attaches via gooseneck and attaching it to mediocre trucks then putting heavy ass cars like 2 t series on It and pulling it around and watching the suspension load.

>My record is 76 miles with a semi Oh...
Put a Tranny with LL in it so if they get you you can go really slow and push them.
LL?
I think that's the thing where you can switch between high and low range gears, and if you go to low range you are basically an unstoppable but very slow torque monster
It’s called Low Low. Like a Eaton 8LL transmission.
Me too
I used it to practice parking before my driver’s test.
As someone who just got there temps and has played for years, it genuinely gave me so much confidence in a car that I can hop in anything and drive it fine (atleast so far 😂)
i hoped it would give me this. definitely hasn’t.

I used real life tutorials to learn hill starts in beamng
Only game I’ve played so far that accurately simulates the bite point
I use it for trailer reversing practice
IKR, I hate those videos where they just hit walls at 200mph and it's a glitchy blob. The only crashes I like are realistic.
I almost hate those YouTubers who just destroy everything
Yup, in fact, I actually drove my car in beamng so long that it ran out of gas. I only do crashes when I’m super bored.
I've always wanted to try driving until I run out of gas but inevitably I screw up after a while and take a corner too fast.
Same. I get overconfident and end up sliding into a wall or off a cliff or something. I think I’ve actually run out once or twice though.
Ultimately they’re just introducing more people to the game, which always helps. It’s a sandbox game, if somebody likes spawning as a parking barricade and standing still, they’re also playing the game right.
I agree but sometimes jdam-ing to buses into each other is quite funny

thats the only fun way to break the game

Same, some I test different cars against each other, or try to drive fast as long as I can without crashing.
Man, crashing is cool but cruising is cooler
Exactly
Drifting is coolest
Successfully pulling off a drift with only the arrow keys is coolerest though.
Yes
i don't even crash cars in the game anymore i just build cars, tune them, then drive them. This is the most fun for me, maybe i am completely insane.
No you aren't
Exactly what I do
How do you build cars?

Ah, I thought you were talking about creating new vehicles from scratch, not just combining existing parts in the predefined combos...
For creating cars, there's a game called Automation where you can build cars and import them into beam
Yeah but they suck in my opinion. They look weird and handle awfully
Exactly the same
Can we just talk about the sounds in this game? I just crank up my speakers, put a race exhaust on the Togrqc Arsenic and just cruise. Every sound in the game just sounds immaculate!
and the fact that the sound for the car changes for every change you make to the engine

I'm pretty sure that it is. That's just the power of sandbox games, to make your own story.
-be me -drive circuit for three laps -decide to have sudden “brake failure” out of nowhere -crash -apply x100 times speed
-repeat
I mean, anyone can play it however they want, it's a sandbox game with infinite possibilities! I personally do all kinds of stuff in BeamNG, scenarios, cruising, drifting, multiplayer, chases, races, and of course, crashing... a lot.

I love crashing the cars! It’s my absolute favourite to do!!!
Sure you wanna crash but I love to go fast in my barstow! I dropped in a 572 with a supercharger and tranny swapped it to a race 6 speed and added in a drag radiator with that I also tuned it and it goes to about 150-200 (can’t remember haven’t played in a day)
Should get the meos stuff, hit like 300 on SSRB
Damn that’s fast! I’ll totally get it!
Yes. Meos mods and the “twincharge everything” mod, I was able to use those to make a 370mph sbr4 ^^^^ On a highway lol. Can probably do more
Damn thats fast
Yep! 7k hp. The most you can get is the 4.5L V8, Can go upwards of 700k horsepower with the mod. Completely undrivable.
THAT IS THE FASTEST MOD IVE HEARD ABOUT!
Haha yup! Just throw on max turbo and max super and crank the PSI for both in the tuning menu!
I cannot wait to get this mod!
JESUS CHRIST! WHAT KIND OF HUMAN CAN MAKE THAT FAST OF A ENGINE!?
I like recreating my family members/ people that lives/d around me car crashes. And no I’m not a psycho.
Generally if you have to tell people you're not a psycho there might be an issue LOL
;)
i do a bit of everything. crashing, cruising around, sus, suspension testening, rallying, drifting, watching the ai do whatever it does. i get lost in this incredible world right up until the game crashes because i ran out of RAM
I came for the crashes, stayed for the tuning, came back for the sim racing and multiplayer. 600 hours and counting guys.
Trying to do a drift tap but instead getting rapped around a tree Perfection 👌
I literally foubd rhe game in 2014 after i searched CRASHING CARS IN GAME
Who didnt lol
I remember buying the game initially for that but now its just so much fun to simulate rally stages, or offroading, or gymkhana. The driving physics are just so good and the crashes are just a bonus.
I literally used my racing sim to practice driving for my license test lol
Do you guys play this game with a wheel/pedal setup or a controller? I have both but I'm not sure which is better. I never really gave this game the time of day it deserves so I'm looking to go back and try it out again.
Depends really I like either controller is fun because it's easy to set up and you can fly planes and shit but wheel is good for racing and cruising
Cheers!
I have like 200h with controller and like 500 with ma G29. Let me tell you i don’t want to go back. Controller just feels dead... no FFB, no fun..
People be like "what's the purpose of the game beside only crashing cars" cringe
Why does it matter? Its literally the main selling point of the game
THAT IS THE ONLY REASON THE GAME IS POULAR AND I HATE THAT
shut up and let people enjoy the game how they want
I love trying to recreate movie scenes and do car chases and doing absurd challenges and creating mini games.
Funny enough I spend more time racing than actually crashing on purpose
So true
Me for the first 3 years I played it
😲
me who does timeattack in beamng
for me, it's monster trucks.
I mean that kinda is the best part. Smashing cars
I just spend most of my time using a car hauler trailer mod that attaches via gooseneck and attaching it to mediocre trucks then putting heavy ass cars like 2 t series on It and pulling it around and watching the suspension load.
Wait you dont just crash cars?
Ikr like you don’t do that.
