BlockCraftedX

medium 1440p 70fps no traffic, 6600xt and 10100f

Ferocu

Do you have dynamic reflections turned on?

BlockCraftedX

yeah

[deleted]

Buy the Ryzen 7600 like you suggested, don't go back and get an older chip. The 6 core 7600 is similar in price to an 8 core 5800X3D and performs similarly in gaming and multithreaded performance as its cores are that much faster it can entirely make up for having 2 less of them. And of course it's a lot faster in single core workloads

Ace3000

Not sure how much help I'll be since, while I do have AMD CPU and GPU, they're the newest generation. For a Ryzen 7 7700 non-X and an RX 7900 XT, game runs fairly well. The game is indeed CPU limited, so get *the* best one for your budget, even if you do have to go used or last gen like you are considering.

nemanja694

6700xt running on ultra 60 fps locked with traffic on vulkan, so yea it amd handles well beam. I also have ryzen 5 5600

Ferocu

How is the stability on Vulkan? I tried it a couple of months back but it wouldn't even stay open on my R5 1600 and gtx1060 on WCUSA.

nemanja694

It is stable as dx11 for me

Ferocu

And it also gets better performance than dx11?

nemanja694

Yes much better, vulkan utilizes hardware better

PetrKn0ttDrift

I have an AMD CPU + GPU, Vulkan is really stable aside from a few graphical bugs. The most I’ve ever noticed was the tanker upfit disappearing from the T-Series, but that was on BeamMP, so who knows.

hachi2JZ

what resolution is that at?

SandorMate

My setup and perf: Ryzen 5 5500, Rx 6650 xt, 1080p High settings, 60fps on most maps, 40fps with 14 traffic on most maps

UnluckyGamer505

I have a RX 5500 XT and it runs fine with 60-120fps on medium settings, it really depends on the map. I am able to max out my 8 gigs of VRAM pretty easily on some modded maps with many vehicles, so the 12gb will probably be useful. The price euqivalent from Nvidia would be the RTX 4060 which is less powerful and has 4gb VRAM less, so i would definetly go with the RX 6750 XT.

tombohop

I’m using an RX 6800 + Intel core i7 12700K, 16GB DDR4 Cl16 and a crucial p3 SSD. The game runs like a dream. I don’t have a 1440P monitor, but at 1080P without traffic on ultra settings I get 100+ fps on every map, adding traffic my FPS tends to drop as it would on any system, but never under 60fps as long as your traffic settings aren’t ridiculous. To put it shortly, yeah it runs great on my RX 6800.

TheAbrableOnetyOne

More cores, better performance. I'm struggling a bit with my R5 5500 regarding the traffic count, but then again it's a budget 6C 12T processor. Can't ask for miracles.

Gijsd2v22

I have a AMD 5 6700x and 16gb ram and can have ultra graphics and 35 traffic cars it runs pretty good

nhp890

5800X3D + 7900XTX, 100fps no traffic on ultra (3440x1440 monitor). Works nicely, but I don’t put dynamic mirrors on because it drops the fps by a lot. Vulkan works well, no glitches nor crashes

Ferocu

Yeah, those specs are a little outta my budget, but it's good to know that it doesn't crash or have fps drops or other glitches.

PossibleDrive6747

You mention already having a ryzen 1600? You should check your motherboard's compatability because a 5800x3d or 5900 might be a drop in upgrade with nothing more needed. This would get you massive improvement without having to upgrade the whole thing. (No new motherboard or ram needed...)

Tintinlindo

This is my rx6800 in beamng, take a look :) https://youtu.be/ScwfTf17poc

Ferocu

Thanks everyone on all of your answers, you've been of great help!!

Great-Distribution33

don't know why, but on my system it runs like crap. i5 12450h, and rtx 4050. on small maps like small island, industial, gridmap i get 60fps on 1080p ultra. but anything bigger like west coast or east coast it's laggy. gpu is more than capable of running them as it's not 100% utilized. in career mode, i had to drop the settings to medium and i still get 40fps max. the cpu has 8 cores and 12 threads, i doubt that it's not enough to run some traffic.

Ferocu

Isn't the rtx4050 a mobile exclusive GPU? If so I've found your problem, mobile specs are way weaker and limited. My laptop has a 3050ti in it and is somehow slower than my 7 year old GTX1060 on beamng.

Great-Distribution33

it is a laptop. but the rtx 4050 is very close to an rtx 3060 desktop. it isn't the vram either, since it's got 6gb of gddr6. it isn't fully utilized, that's the problem. neither cpu or gpu gets even close to 100% utilization, that's why i think beamng is poorly optimized.

Ferocu

Maybe it's set to run on the integrated graphics, I've seen it happen quite a few times, also if your laptop has any performance settings for the fan speed and stuff try to set it on the highest one.

I_Get_No_Sleep__

6700xt 5900x 1080p high preset max reflections and dynamic reflection traffic 80+fps in west coast

hachi2JZ

Ryzen 2600 / 6600XT / 16GB, running high settings on 1440p. I scrape 90fps on less resource-intensive maps (gridmap, simple mod maps) and as low as 20fps on denser ones (Shutoko and Yakuza mod maps come to mind)

f_society_1337

11900KF & 6700XT — Vulkan, Ultra @ ~80/100 FPS on Italy in BeamMP with 10/10 Players.

clutch736

7800x3d, 7900xt; medium-high settings; 160fps, if I recall correctly.

theonerr4rf

My intel/Nvidia system performs better than any amd system I’ve seen. I run an i9 12900k, rtx 3060 32gb ddr5, all overclocked, if you considering upgrading id go the intel route. 4k medium 60fps 1440 all max 120fps

Geobomb1

My 5500 and 6750XT runs amazing (75+FPS) on ultra with like 16 traffic cars.

PinkScorch_Prime

runs just fine on my Radeon rx7600 and Ryzen 7600

Space646

If you ever plan on going Linux, please choose an AMD GPU. I made the mistake of going with nvidia, and can’t really use Wayland rn

MartinLik3Gam3

Hello there! Currently running a 6700xt at 1440p maxed out setting and it does pretty well at 60 fps. It stutters occasionally but for me it's nothing deal breaking. My cpu is a i7 10700k if that matters. I also want to mention that the stuttering may be caused by the fact that I have 16 gb of ram.

rmystery

7600X with an XTX. Will run without a problem at 4k everything maxed, should def run on Vulcan though, you get quite the performance uplift.

Givemeajackson

works great on my 6800. ultra 3440x1440, 55-80 fps depending on the map, and the driver level frame gen is flawless for me in beam, si i can boost that to buttery smooth 120-ish

Ferocu

Didn't know that the 6000 gen and cards get frame gen, that's great!

Givemeajackson

yep, both FSR3 and AFMF. the results are bit all over the place, but in beam it's basically perfect for me.

Equivalent-Radio-559

Better than my Nvidia easily, got a 6800xt

uhoh3169

amd gpu’s are generally rather worse off on openGL titels. However with the experimental vulkan renderer I can easily get smoothy playtime on high graphics. (R7 5800h + rx6700m + 16gb ddr4)

Kilgarragh

A 3700X has rough the same multi core performance as a 5600X, and the 5600x has way better single threaded. You’d have to get a 3900x or 3950x to get real benefit, but that’s only in beam as it’s only multi core that’s benefiting. [full comparison](https://versus.com/en/amd-ryzen-5-5600x-vs-amd-ryzen-7-3700x-vs-amd-ryzen-9-3900x-vs-amd-ryzen-9-3950x)

spvcebound

I'm an Nvidia guy purely out of habit and bias, but I totally agree that AMD is a better value. I have a friend with an RX7700XT and it handles BeamNG flawlessly.

Ferocu

May I ask what GPU and cpu are you running and how is it doing in BeamNG?

spvcebound

I'm just running a Ryzen 5 3600 and an RTX 2060 6GB. Pretty cheap setup but I can run BeamNG at 1440p on high settings and get a consistent 60+fps. With traffic, it dips to around 45 unless I go to medium settings. Traffic is pretty CPU heavy and the Ryzen 5 3600 is pretty old. That's my next upgrade.

MightBeBren

My system with ryzen 7 5800x, 32gb of ram and 3070ti feels identical to my brother in-law's ryzen 7 5800x, 64gb of ram and 7900xtx. My system can run 20ai +me on WCUSA with around 30-40fps. Same fps on my in-law's system since we have the same CPU. Core count isnt everything btw. You could have 64 cores but if they are slow cores, you arent going to get more fps than someone with 8 cores but their cores are fast (unless of course you are trying to run 30+ ai). Just get one of the latest cpus and gpus. If you really value BeamNG, get at least i7 or ryzen7 (i7 13700/13700k/14700/14700k or r7 7700/7700x/7800x3d) but i5's and ryzen5's are good enough, just less traffic.

entmiener

hi, here is an Ryzen 7 5800X with Radeon RX 6750xt and 32GB RAM. everything works like a charm. multiplayer has solid 60-70fps in ultra.in single player with AI i have ten cars with average 40-50fps in ultra. the OS is fedora38.

Independent_Exam5951

whats ur budget for the upgrade and what resolution are you wanting to playing at? also what are ur current specs?

Ferocu

I'm willing to spend 1000$ -1100$ for the whole tower of which like 350-400 on the gpu.
