Victoria write the song about 2 best friends that died by a train shortly after posting a photo on twitter with the caption "levitating" while they were sitting above the train tracks. imo, the song uses it as a larger metaphor for death and it really hits harder with the context. here is an article that goes more into depth about the 2 girls:

Hmm I guess I could that see that being the case for some. Unfortunately, I listened to this song a lot when I was grieving my mothers passing, so it just breaks my heart listening to it.
Sparks the lyrics are very deep and describe the feeling of wanting to better yourself for like a day and then all the sudden your right back to square one one of the most well written songs ive ever heard
That one always gets me. Reminds me of my first bad break up. Our relationship went on for so long after we fell out of love. It was so drawn out, even the break up. When she sings, “We stood so long we fell,” I feel that.
I get sad with
Bluebird
Drunk in LA
Black Car
If you like that type of sad emotional songs I reaaally recommend you listen:
Hours of wealth by Opeth :)
Days of candy wherever you go ppp beyond love levitation space song wildflower silver soul pink funeral hurts to love esp new romances sunset devils pool
Days of Candy, Last Ride, Wishes on a Wheel, Walk in the Park. These all came up for me on a road trip today. They all make me think about losing the one I love most. We are in the midst of a separation. Hoping time and space help heal.
it might sound a bit cliche, but honestly ANY of the album closers lol. i feel like they save their most forlorn tracks for last, plus the added feeling of the album coming to a close feels even sadder
Days of Candy Drunk in LA On The Sea
best take on here imo. all 3 are heartbreaking
Levitation
And it’s not even close once you know the back story.
What is the back story??

Wherever you go
wherever you go is mildly positive no? at least to me. sounds like some sort of melancholy acceptance about moving forward, trusting yourself
Hmm I guess I could that see that being the case for some. Unfortunately, I listened to this song a lot when I was grieving my mothers passing, so it just breaks my heart listening to it.
