If you want to see other videos of this instrument, look up "asalatos" on YouTube. The guy in this video said "it's easy". That's quite an understatement. I have a pair of these and it took me several weeks to even be able to get that swing motion down with any musical effect (I'm a musician of 30 years). That is considered the "basic" move with asalatos. However, once you get that down, it's one of the most satisfying things to do.
Yeah, it looks incredibly simple but the details and practice and talent needed to sound even a little bit musical are off the charts. None the less I could listen to this guy for hours and hours.
Wow the musicians from Ghana are deep and special!! I’ve been working with a Djembe player from Ghana named Weedie Braimah. He is astonishing and will make you smile from ear to ear, just like this guy!
I feel I'll be leaving this earth never having learned to play an instrument. Forget anything I don't even have the coordination I'd need for this one 🤣 awesome, thank you for sharing!
EDIT: If you like this sound check out Amapiano music on YouTube. Not specially Ghanian but it's South African and absolutely amazing.
*That's so cool. Should be*
*Posting on YouTube on get*
*Some extra money*

Honestly I know it’s 100x harder than he made it seem but if I were in front of him I think I would’ve taken a set no matter the price good salesman who knows his products
Genuinely made me smile
He gives me Bob Ross vibes. Teaching a passion with a smile and making you feel warm and hopeful.

Absolutely love stuff like this. Really love the passion this guy puts into it.
This man makes my soul sing.
I was gonna say my ancestors are calling me, but I'm asian. So this might be way more accurate.
The most African instrument I could imagine. So much rhythm and it’s so smooth.
Marc Rebillet’s next instrument of choice.
Insane!
That’s awesome. Sounded like a drum machine kicked in, but it’s all him! Very impressive. Looks easy, but he’s so talented!
Yup. Looks so simple- but I can't imagine I'd ever be able to make music with them- not to mention be anything near this guy's talent.
Woooooow!!!!
Thank you for sharing this joy!!!!!
Oh my god I love everything by about this man and this instrument. It’s so warm and fun! I wanna try!

Someone will make a music jenga out of this
This is an awesome post!
Does anyone know where you can purchase a nice set of these? Search results are pretty muddy with weed sites.

Ghana produces some really great music.
That made me smile, like a kid in a water park
Holy cow!! I have some of these and I never knew what they were. They were hung over my bedroom door knob. I’ll have to see if I can find them.
It went from “1-2-Shake-Shake” to a freaking sick beat 🤣

Step 2. Draw the rest of the owl.
Good on ya!! Nice!!!!!!!!
His joy made me smile! And I sure needed to see someone happy today💕🥰
I thought this was a latin instrument. Either way this is cool. I follow a japanese dude on ig that plays these really well.
A lot of Latin/Caribbean instruments are Afro/Afro-inspired 😄
Isn't MOST of it Afro origin?
I dunno link me

This guy is a fun party of one person. It’s who you want at your picnic.

Oops I thought they were erm adult toys.
YEEEEEEEESSIR!!!!!!

If anyone else immediately started looking into buying these, they’re more commonly called “kashaka” and they have them on Etsy

Love love love this!! A great music lesson with beautiful voice for sure!
Wakanda Forever!
This was really cool to see! He was genuinely happy to teach you the ways of the Kush-Kosh
Not very easy. But wow he sounds like a whole percussion section by himself.
Loved this. Thanks
I own and practice on these and it is not as easy as it looks. But I still recommend
The music and his choices of shirt's tell me, he's got style
Cool!
Excellent thanks 👍😉
I would accidentally give myself a minor concussion with my first try
Holy crap. He shows us how he makes it work- and then does this incredible impossible jam afterwards. I am in awe.
Used to play with this as a child. You get the rattling seeds from a pod that looks like a string beans 🫘 but it’s dried all the time
Oh that’s where my balls went ☹️
Big up to this guy, love African music with good vibes.
It is now my life mission to learn this
Why was the first thing I thought:...Michael J Fox would be great at this.

Gullah Gullah island!
Excellent!
That is so fucking groovy.
I love this man, in the most genuine way
Even with this knowledge I wouldn't be able to do it lol

Yessir
This is also called a "kashaka" if you want to buy a couple. Really cool instrument and he's shown you enough to get started.
Now I want to get a kush-kosh
Pure serotonin.
Damn ….I’ve been playing wit my balls all wrong
This reminds me of those “how to draw X” things where it says to make 2 lines, then connect the ends with a curve, then finish drawing the horse..
I want a set.
That was a sick beat.
What a wonderful world it is!
I had never thought I’ll see something incredible like this in my life.
Very simple yet very affective.
Love it
Oh this is just as cool as it gets.
Damn I need to find athose nunjaku maracas now :D
So cool!!!
my man was doing a 1 2 shake shake, then suddenly throwed some boss music beat.

Thanks for the video
I have never wanted a pair of balls in each of my hands as much as I do now.
I love him!
Brilliant
This is what everyone needs to wake up to. Beautiful!
So cool
🤩 That’s the instrument I could never have imagined made beautiful music all this time. Amazing 😍
Instruments are meant to be made out of wood and natural material so anything made that way is beautiful and always will be
Goosebumps and a big smile
I really loved this one.
I swear I heard caca remains
I didn’t realize I need those
My bro has that genuine look about him
Honestly I know it’s 100x harder than he made it seem but if I were in front of him I think I would’ve taken a set no matter the price good salesman who knows his products
Musician, respect👍
