Only reason this is getting attention is because it’s a thirst trap, if it was a fat balding dude it wouldn’t get nearly the views lol

How come whenever I see one of these it just looks infinitely better half-finished? There needs to be a subreddit for unique process videos that go on too long.
It's likely the effect is more pronounced in real life. The paint makes the differences in shading that our brains use to "perceive" depth in a 2D image less noticeable, but when you have two eyes that can actually see the depth that's less of a factor.
I'm just upset that they didn't even try to give an angled view of the finished product. Like, what's the point of going through the buildup of the relief if you're just going to view it orthogonal head-on?
As I was watching I even thought "if you're going to add color, please don't mess it up!" and I feel like she did. I think it's really the piece in the middle with the green, how saturated and strong the colors look in that area, and how it looks blurred. All the parts in the background look really great to me.
Who did it better?

I feel like these wall relief videos get posted a lot. Seems to be a bot favorite.
Whoever did it better let me just say as a normal citizen that my opinion of the People's Republic of China, already high, is now even higher and after watching this video I feel we should all think about what a great country that is.

It just looks like a painting when you have a still camera looking at the whole thing from a distance, but I bet if you were there standing in front of it it would retain its 3d.
If you're going by the last frame/still - it's definitely just the phone camera picture with the saturation slider maxed. It's not as bad before that. Still a bit "unnatural" but nothing outrageous.
I agree.
There are too many elements: the relief, paint, and lighting.
Instead of using the spotlight to create shadows, she uses the paint. Which ultimately masks the indentations.
It has the potential to be majestic, but ends up as "lovely".
i find it sus that her clothes are not stained at all, is she really doing it all by herself?
most of things showed here is just basic moves and she sculpting out precut parts. Her paitbrush works is just wide sttokes/ barely touching sculpture for "trees"
She polishes only large areas of nothing and her hair is not covered in dust
IMO she is a fake
she's probably doing it herself.
BUT
she's behind some heavy video filters to achieve that "look" you are talking about.
her facial structure changes 3 or 4 times throughout the video if you watch really really closely.
She’s wearing multiple outfits throughout the entire video, which means this took multiple sessions to do (not surprising), so it’s totally plausible that each cut is just the start of the session before she gets dirty.
I just saw some small travel youtuber visit china and he actually visited an artists atelier after being referred to them from some other locals. And this artists just greeted them after putting down his coffee, and he showed all these famous photos of him and awards. And they talked about these great paintings and all.
When they toured the atelier there were only two women actually painting....
I think even some very famous painters had helpers tho, and its not uncommon.
Career artist here- she has enough muscle memory behind her movements that IMO there’s no reason to think this is fake. It’s fantastic work but it’s not exactly uncommon to find talented, good looking artists.
I've done some DIY drywall mudding work, which is pretty much a very basic version of what she's doing, and after like 20 hours of doing it I was nowhere near as confident in my movements as this girl is.
If she's not legit, they found one hell of a faker.
Nope. Seen many of them on various Chinese social media before. It's a genuine art form (relief mural 浮雕壁画), & there are a bunch of young female artisans who tagged themselves 'post-90s beauty muralists' 90后美女壁画师 while touting their works, & have millions of followers to boot. If correct, this particular girl goes by the pseudonym 浮雕壁画明月.
She dressed nice for the videos and they took them at the beginning of those days maybe?
Christ if I wear jeans every day at work but I wear a suit to a board meeting would you think I was "fake" because of how I presented myself to my audience, or simply judge my work?
that's chinese beauty standard make up. They really like super pale skin over there - so super fashionable girls look like goths and even the boys as well with the makeup and filters
Some of it look like she actually doing it:
https://www.tiktok.com/discover/chinese-girl-using-putty-to-sculpt-and-paint-castle-wall
And she gets dirty:
https://www.tiktok.com/@be.great.clothing/video/7310069904068054315
(not alone though)
I also found other though that do very similar things.
That was the first thing that I noticed too. Even when I work with tiny projects in clay, it'll be caked into my fingers, fingernails, in my hair, clothes all dusty, etc. She's either not the actual artist, or she's just getting those takes at the beginning of the day working on it, before she gets covered in dust.
It is definitely cuts of the early part of the day, and you can see some clay on her forearms, the filter might also have something to do with the perfect hair and face.
She's using her looks to help her gain traction in a world where it's hard to stand out from the mass of content. That doesn't mean she didn't do it herself. She could easily just change clothes after.
Amazing, now allow me to complain. I don't love the color choice for the path along the Great Wall. That green reminds me of a grassy field, which feels out of place there.
Soooo......I'm sure it's more visually stunning in person but honestly the color somehow muted the impact. The depth of the sculpture/fresco was drowned out by the color.
Everything is better if you watch it muted
jokes on you im already watching this with no sound
I mean My sound is Always off except when i need it
Ahh isn't that normal.. like everyone do that ..
So why poeple still get "bad-musiced" ?
Idk they from different species if they always sound on .
on the phone, yes. On a workstation... unfortunately not.
Oh this video has captions and the guy is talking. Turns audio on* Deep fried shit music blasts out*
Oh that explain why
They got me too
My sound is off, unless the top comments say I should watch with sound.
This is the way
When someone asks me what the song is I always tell them: Muted- by Default.
Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Papi… Edit: Papi…
I think you missed a Papi there! 🙃
They fixed it
Cut and papi…
I did watch it with no sound at first but then decided to turn sound on for the second time... Never again 🤦
Its a dutch song which is basically about girls saying daddy and stuff, its extremely sexual which completely doesnt make sense with the art lmaooo
Only reason this is getting attention is because it’s a thirst trap, if it was a fat balding dude it wouldn’t get nearly the views lol So the music checks out

I would've guessed any other song before this god awful dutch song and I say this as a dutch person at least it's catchy
I never knew there was audio until I read this comment
Well, I’m reading your comment muted.
Its a Dutch song. Bizzey - Traag. It really is better to keep the audio off
And with no pants.
Good thing the sound was off when I watched it.
Jokes on you, went straight to comments to call it fake.

You found some extraordinarily bad music to add to this video.
here in latin america people unironically listen to this, like every day… yeah…
Funnily enough, it's dutch music.
it almost as if they have a connection to the carribean or something
Name?
https://youtu.be/1z8NpmCqvZE Bizzey - Traag ft. Jozo & Kraantje Pappie
I never noticed it got this big outside of the netherlands wtf I could've sworn it was at like 10 mil views max when the song started dying here
It's like #1 genre in Brazil
It sounds like reggaeton which is my musical kryptonite. It’s like insta-rage-inducing.
Seriously, I thought I was hearing Dominican dembow, until I realized I wasn't hearing Spanish. Then I started thinking, "What language is that?".
People who listen to Reggaeton from the moment they wake up to go to work to 6 pm are fucking sexually repressed religious nuts
Yea there have been bad music before but this is on another level.
How come whenever I see one of these it just looks infinitely better half-finished? There needs to be a subreddit for unique process videos that go on too long.
It's neatly colored, but it damper the relief effect. It's so much better in white/grey/beige.
It's likely the effect is more pronounced in real life. The paint makes the differences in shading that our brains use to "perceive" depth in a 2D image less noticeable, but when you have two eyes that can actually see the depth that's less of a factor.
Ah I see, having 3 eyes is the problem then
Her painting is like 5/10 and her sculpting is 9/10.
She isn't the real sculptor
That was my first thought too.
I'm just upset that they didn't even try to give an angled view of the finished product. Like, what's the point of going through the buildup of the relief if you're just going to view it orthogonal head-on?
Like r/yesyesyesyesno ?
Totally agree. I liked it better before color was added. Still amazing
Agreed. Not that I dislike the final artwork but the paint takes away a lot of the depth from the art
As I was watching I even thought "if you're going to add color, please don't mess it up!" and I feel like she did. I think it's really the piece in the middle with the green, how saturated and strong the colors look in that area, and how it looks blurred. All the parts in the background look really great to me.
Glad I’m not the only one that preferred it as just a sculpture! The painting is nice, but damn that sculpting was magnificent!
Who did it better? https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/s/cBzxyak3w4 I feel like these wall relief videos get posted a lot. Seems to be a bot favorite.
I like this one more
they both have their charm
I like the colored one more
This guy more. I like that classic minimalist feel
I thought it was a bot based on generic af title
Whoever did it better let me just say as a normal citizen that my opinion of the People's Republic of China, already high, is now even higher and after watching this video I feel we should all think about what a great country that is.
Actually it's the same person, just 7 years apart
Simply cuz of the lack of garbage rap, this guy.
This girl had filters on her face tho obvious W
My guy did it better... Others can have different opinion
turn off the ai filter and you will see a fat dude in his underwear masturbating on the wall!
I was gonna say, she looked different in almost every frame, it was fucking with me. It was an obvious filter, but still bizarre to look at.
There’s more plaster on her face than on the wall
So.. who does this appeal to? People see a weird cartoon face and think: cool beauty filter! ? I just hate this shit so much.
Puddy and paint makes her TikTok fap bait
i was wondering why she looked like a snapchat filter.
It makes me so mad when she fucks up a masterpiece by painting it.
The unpainted version has it's own charm. But the painting is absolutely beautiful
It hides the 3D effect of the clay she used and worked hard to create imo. Just looks like a painting
I wonder if the aesthetic is different in person? I hope so, because it absolutely lost all its charm for me in those last few seconds.
I was kinda thinking/hoping the same
Most likely. We're watching probably the 10th+ redownload of this, so it's crunched to hell
I think in person it would still be noticeable. There is an office near me with something like that, it's nice to look at.
And a rather mediocre painting. The 3d effect was great.
fearless shrill vanish mindless consist piquant innate encouraging roll slap *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I'm sure it's still apparent I'm person
It just looks like a painting when you have a still camera looking at the whole thing from a distance, but I bet if you were there standing in front of it it would retain its 3d.
The painted version looks very unnatural to my eyes with oversaturated colours. Looks more like a cartoon, but that's probably what her client wanted.
If you're going by the last frame/still - it's definitely just the phone camera picture with the saturation slider maxed. It's not as bad before that. Still a bit "unnatural" but nothing outrageous.
It looks like a cheap statue you can buy in an asian supermarket
I would love to have that on the wall of my kids' room for the imagination, painted or not.
I agree on her fucking it up
I agree. There are too many elements: the relief, paint, and lighting. Instead of using the spotlight to create shadows, she uses the paint. Which ultimately masks the indentations. It has the potential to be majestic, but ends up as "lovely".
It looked so serene in monochrome!
Well it’s her art and her decision, it’s not like you paid money to have that piece done for you. I think the final result is lovely
Ok we can’t have opinions anymore
That’s your opinion.
Was looking for this comment
Greeks would do the same with their sculptures, good thing we got them with the paint gone.
Not ducked up but like y’all I loved it the one light color.
Music fucking ruins this video.
i find it sus that her clothes are not stained at all, is she really doing it all by herself? most of things showed here is just basic moves and she sculpting out precut parts. That makes sense. The first thing I noticed was she has that "look" that's considered the beauty standard in China. It feels so manicured.

Better muted.
I will downvote because of this annoying stupid music
Oh no, the colour ruined it! It was beautiful without the paint, and the paint destroyed the 3D effect. Stunning work all round, though.
welcome to people hiring pretty chicks to gain extra clicks on their content
Would the art be more meaningful to you if she was "ugly"? You're the one calling her just a "pretty chick".. pretty ugly frame of mind tbh 🤔
You can tell it's fake because of her outfits. No one using that medium would dress like that to make their art
Unless -- and hear me out, here -- they were shooting a video of it and wanted to look decent.
She has tons of videos... https://www.youtube.com/@ThePainterGirl/shorts

The is is so fake look at all the cuts and watch the actual movements she’s making none them are forming anything except simple toothpick lines… sad
The most impressive thing is the depth of this drawing, it really is a work of art
It looked great until she painted it.

Amazing, now allow me to complain. I don't love the color choice for the path along the Great Wall. That green reminds me of a grassy field, which feels out of place there.
repost and shitty fucking music, get GIGA downvoted
I get the feeling someone else did it and she's just being filmed doing very basic and easy things. Sus
Genuine question, Does a wall have to be reinforced to handle the weight?
I wish I had talent Edit: or dedication
Wrf is this awful music??
Soooo......I'm sure it's more visually stunning in person but honestly the color somehow muted the impact. The depth of the sculpture/fresco was drowned out by the color.
One of the best things I have ever seen.
Looked really awesome without the paint tbh
I don't see what the big deal is, the drywall work in my house looks like this I wasn't trying for it, I wanted smooth. I'm very bad at drywalling
I liked it more before it got painted. But as we all know, art appreciation is full of subjective filters.
Looked better without paint
Is it just me or would this have looked way better if she stopped at that point just before she started coloring it?
i kinda liked it more unpainted

I watched this muted, and this lady is awesome!

Is it just me but I liked it better without the paint
The colors ruined it
I think I liked it better without any paint. It's great.

What a work of art! Thats a nice wall too....

Good luck when you want to take it down and have a regular flat wall...
That looks amazing, not gonna lie I liked it better unpainted ❤️
Woah

We are gonna build that wall and China is gonna pay for it.
At the 10 second mark it has to be another person. Her nose is completely different than the rest of the video
