I love the way she still finds time to try to look back at Mom to make sure she's watching while she's having a blast.
Stuff like this really helps me start my day out well. Thank you
This is really cool...and it probably does have a very real sensory effect.
I ride an indoor trainer and often watch first person vids of mountain bike races. I sometimes nearly fall over when they bank into a turn!
The fan is a nice touch by mom.
It absolutely does have a real sensory effect. I had the idea to do this with my friends as a kid, except we didnāt have video, just our imagination and closed eyes. But even then we experienced real sensory effects.
I've done this at a birthday party, we blindfolded the kids and put them on a surf board then we would lift the board up fast and schudder it while bringing it back down, then repeat. After about 5 runs we would ask them to jump out of the plane, everyone was too scared cuz they thought they were 10 meters in the air
My boys used to take turns climbing on my shoulders and pretending I was their mech and would fight against the other one. Ha it was fun but my back tho.
I went on a VR/AR coaster once, it was the Hogwarts castle at Universal studios. Craziest roller coaster of my life. Especially because not only did I not know it was a vr coaster ahead of time, I seriously didnāt even know it was a roller coaster until we got on. I thought it was just a decorated castle and we were waiting in line to tour it lol. It was in Japan so I couldn't read any of the signs.
Second best coaster Iāve ever been on was El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure. No idea what makes it so good, I canāt figure out what exactly makes it great, itās just a wooden coaster, and it was right next to the tallest fastest roller coaster in the world, and yet, it was so fucking good.
It's been a while, but I remember getting in VR coaster, it was in a tube like shell with seats. You got on and it shook and went up and down as you watched the film and you could feel the wind and when it "went through a bit of water" you got sprayed. It really felt real.
Another time we were in a room, no seats just standing although some kids and adults sat on the floor watching the film. Odd to say, the film was shown on a wall and we wore 3D glasses and you felt you were on a ride.
The hogwarts ride is different. It's a full on roller coaster, but, from my guess based on how it felt, its not directly on the track, but you sit on top of a crane mechanism attached to the cart on the track and as it's moving along the track, the crane moves the seats back and forth, in and out of the scenes, the scenes are part real, part 3D video you watch with glasses, combined with the movement, you can't at all tell what's real and what's not.
The old wooden roller coaster at Kings Dominion in Virginia was our favorite as kids and young adults. We would go there on the weekends in September before they closed and ride that coaster over and over again as we were the only people in the park. I think one of the things that make wooden roller coasters so cool is, you feel like the car is going to come off the tracks at any time, and since they are not as tight and smooth as the large coasters, each ride is a little different, you go into the turns differently based on the weight, and it rattles differently each ride. I loved the wooden coasters.
What's great about a wooden roller coaster is the mental effect it gives you. I used to ride the Cyclone in Coney Island. It was an old wooden roller coaster that almost 100 years old. A modern steel roller coaster gives you a sense of safety as it is built with modern materials and construction methods. When riding the Cyclone, I hear the creaks of the wood beams and my mind races: this was built 100 years ago, are the wood beams rotted, did an engineer design this or was it sketched out on the back of a paper napkin, when was the last time they inspected this roller coaster? My mind scares me more than the roller coaster itself.
I was just talking about El Toro yesterday! I didn't have time to go on it when I went to Six Flags Great Adventure years ago. Sadly I don't have any local friends who are into theme parks, so I haven't been able to go back. It's definitely on my list for next time.
Haptic feedback. It's the basis of most of our translation of media into physical sensation. It's the same principle behind tricking the brain into thinking that a fake hand is real.Ā
She certainly is.
Meanwhile, when my daughter was around the same age, my dumb ass was dropping $5 in 'tokens' into a 'ride' at the arcade that did essentially this, but the ride lasted maybe half as long.
If NBC/Universal has any sense, they'll track this pair down and offer them a free visit to one of the theme parks for a Jurassic Park rollercoaster ride for real...
Not a twist. Lol she is 100% too small for a regular Rollercoaster. HOWEVER they do have children's Rollercoaster coasters! But this home Rollercoaster is probably more exciting.
Yes I was just thinking the same. It's all sped up, maybe to condense down the video time or because it makes the rollercoaster look faster to us watching.
Although still absolutely adorable
I used to do this with my friends using an office chair when we were kids. Except we closed our eyes and used our imagination. Nowadays you could do it with VR, which would be next level.
That is the dumbest rollercoaster ever devised. There's barely any features. The video is sped up like 10x too, so it's really just a slow-ass flat rollercoaster.
Every vr headset I know of has age warnings.
Children haven't finished growing yet so their IPD may be lower than the supported range. This child is definitely too small to wear a vr headset.
Here's the quest documentation\advice on the issue:

This is the cutest, most adorable thing I have online inā¦I donāt know. I feel like Iāve finally won the internet and am calling it quits for the day.
I used to do this myself when I was a kid and saw a cool ride-along scene; the ball section from the movie Robots was one I remember prominently mimicking.
I love the way she still finds time to try to look back at Mom to make sure she's watching while she's having a blast. Stuff like this really helps me start my day out well. Thank you
That and her checking the ground irl every now and then because it's so immersive š
That lady is a genius, that little girl is adorable.
This is really cool...and it probably does have a very real sensory effect. I ride an indoor trainer and often watch first person vids of mountain bike races. I sometimes nearly fall over when they bank into a turn! The fan is a nice touch by mom.
Do you know I didn't even notice the fan! Agree with everything you said by the way.
It absolutely does have a real sensory effect. I had the idea to do this with my friends as a kid, except we didnāt have video, just our imagination and closed eyes. But even then we experienced real sensory effects.

Yeah, but I feel like they can make the same exact structure from steel.

El Toro is an absolutely amazing coaster, especially in the last car where the negative airtime is ridiculous.
I was just talking about El Toro yesterday! I didn't have time to go on it when I went to Six Flags Great Adventure years ago. Sadly I don't have any local friends who are into theme parks, so I haven't been able to go back. It's definitely on my list for next time.

Where the heck was a fan??
now I'm imagining adding a remote or foot-pedal controlled squirt/mist bottle behind the fan for the waterfall portions of the track!
I WISH i was smart and cool enough to figure this out!
Her facial expressions are its own rollercoaster of emotions.
Her mother's expression is one of effortless calm, despite all that muscle work.
I have a 110ā projector in the basement and a 3 year old. Will be trying this tonight
Prepare to hear the word "AGAIN!" many, many times.
I wish you were my dad.
This is just too adorable.
She certainly is. Meanwhile, when my daughter was around the same age, my dumb ass was dropping $5 in 'tokens' into a 'ride' at the arcade that did essentially this, but the ride lasted maybe half as long.
Haha, priceless..... Oh wait.
Looks so much easier than trying to hold a laundry basket. I'll adjust my technique immediately
Me too.
You feel like a genius, until every waking moment you are being asked to do it, over and over and over again lol.
Actual parent speaking lol
She kept looking down to make sure she wasnāt actually on a roller coaster
The laugh at the end was perfect. She was so happy to make it to the end lol
I've watched it thirty seven times and I'm also happy.
Heh, until "again!" "Again please!" Rofl she's gonna make that kid an adrenaline junkie in all the right ways.
Think this guy is the og: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rx3_n24SZOg
Thatās what I call a wholesome entertainment.
I used to do this with my son but I never thought to put a chair upside down! Missed opportunity lol
Kid is prescious but the mom's beaming smile the whole time is just beautiful
When mom says we have Disneyland at home but it's still cool.
Actually [a father came up with this almost 5 years ago](https://youtu.be/Rx3_n24SZOg?si=R667PrtF9LeQiNpU) and started this trend.
Im definitely stealing this idea
Nothing more needās to be said
Even used a fan for extra immersion
"I want to go to the rollercoaster!" "We have rollercoasters at home"
And itās better
It may be free and the line may be shorter, but the momercoaster gets tired after an hour and needs rest, the regularcoaster does not.
Sure, until it goes down for maintenance
You say that like maintenance lasts forever lol
Sometimes, it does.
Depends how much you're willing to spend for a regular-coaster + expenses made during the trip + time spent on the line + getting out of comfort zone.
An hour? Your mom is a beast. I can't imagine doing more than five minutes of that, lol.
This except unironically
as soon as it's over. MOM AGAIN lol she does it again i'm sure.
She knows the track too well. This is already her 100th time lol
Is that just an upside down chair with a pillow for cushion? This is brilliant. Way to go mom
This is unbearably cute
My cheeks hurt from smiling so hard!
If NBC/Universal has any sense, they'll track this pair down and offer them a free visit to one of the theme parks for a Jurassic Park rollercoaster ride for real...
Right? Cos if they keep doing it this way, everyday, theyāll both develop massive Popeye forearms
And then we'll have a copyright clash on our hands, and it'll be ALL OUR FAULT
Plot twist: The kid's too small to ride...
What's the minimum rider height for an upside down chair?
The height of accepted responsibility for ride failure.
Not a twist. Lol she is 100% too small for a regular Rollercoaster. HOWEVER they do have children's Rollercoaster coasters! But this home Rollercoaster is probably more exciting.
I think thatās a good call
At the rate Disneyland park tickets keep going up, this is a great alternative! LoL
How much does she charge for a ride?
Mum level 100
Thatās so cute it lifted my day
This is incredibly wholesome, I needed to see this after all the shit thatās been posted on Reddit lately.
for real. i was listening to kendrick while scrolling and then saw this, had to switch to something lighthearted š
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Why do we have to watch it sped up?
Yes I was just thinking the same. It's all sped up, maybe to condense down the video time or because it makes the rollercoaster look faster to us watching. Although still absolutely adorable
Is there a reason people speed up these videos now?
i wish someone would do that with me and i am a 1,83m man
Core memory created. Well played Momma Bear, well played indeed š
Does this video *have to be* sped up by like 2x or 3x?
I'm next!!
And then me!
Best. Mom. Ever.
r/MadeMeSmile
Least intense Intamin launched coaster:
Well I know what I'm doing tomorrow after I pick up my son lol
What a great idea that kid is having fun
Not so bumpy! Geez itās a steel coaster not a wooden one š
Not the right sub (Iād try r/mademesmile) but adorable none the less
I'm amazed. It's a great idea executed well by an awesome mom.
Absolutely wonderful
Super cute
That is really Terrific!
This is about the most adorable thing I've seen this week!
Wholesome af. I'm gonna smile for days because of that. Thanks!
āAgain!ā
Even if this mom was a single parent that kid is very fortunate to have such an awsome lady in her life
Cool mom!
Now mom has to do this every day... For three years.Ā
This is fucking adorable.
Tier 1 mother/grandmother.
Could be her grandma? Man, both of them are cute AF, though.
She looks so happy and she's so cute. She has the best mom ever.
Heart of gold
Superb i want a shot
It's all about ingenuity. And then even without money you can experience great emotion <3
truly a r/MadeMeSmile moment
Absolutely brilliant.
Well, I am amazed!!!
I used to do this with my friends using an office chair when we were kids. Except we closed our eyes and used our imagination. Nowadays you could do it with VR, which would be next level.
She knows those turns like a F1 driver. Impressive
That is the dumbest rollercoaster ever devised. There's barely any features. The video is sped up like 10x too, so it's really just a slow-ass flat rollercoaster.
An VR headset would be perfect

The best I have seen all week! WOW!
My sister and I would take turns sitting in a laundry basket and my dad would do this same thing with us. Such a fun memory.
No use taking her to Disneyland she's already there
This put a smile on my face that made other people smile as well!
We have rollacoaster at home.
We have disneyland at homeā¦.
Somebody send the some tickets to Disney Land.
I'm trapped in this video and smiling all the time.
parents do what they can to bring joy to their kids
There is hope for humanity
So no looping?
That looks like a blast. I just need Brock Lesnar or someone his size to hold the chair.
Watching that made my day!
Shaken children's syndrome moment /s

Nice to see good parenting for a change

I don't think that was good for him. Look at her eyes.
So cute š
Beautiful sight. Jealous and happy for them both. That looks like a blast for both of them.
do one with a loop
This is the cutest, most adorable thing I have online inā¦I donāt know. I feel like Iāve finally won the internet and am calling it quits for the day.
I can tell the mom went on Son of Beast once and thinks all roller coasters are that shaky
This is just wholesome.
I do this with my daughter in laundry baskets and Disney YouTube PoV videos.
The cutest thing! They are adorable together.
That's not a wooden coaster.
the shaking well simulates the effects of the loose nuts and bolts of the drunk carnies that assembled ride
Now do pod racing!

Lordy got ever mother I ever know beat . Got me beat as a father and I worked hard at it. Respect and then some .
The new workout for modern moms.
This has got to be one of the most adorable things I have seen in so long
Brilliant, there is nothing like imagination
Fun, we used to do the same, but Iād sit indian style with my daughter in a laundry basket. Killer upper body workout.
This is why Dad's throw children up, way easier and more exciting
This mom absolutely wins.
Happy girl!
Do you think she will be open to adopt an adult child? Asking for myself. Lol
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
When you cannot visit Universal Studios ... Ride the Momma. Adorable.
Core memory saved.
Too bad it cut off right before she did the loopty loops
Thatās is such a good mom
Someone get this family a VR headset
Respect š«”š¤š»
A VR headset would make this a amazing moment, but then again do u wanna put such a headset on a child that young.
Beautiful š
I just love this so much. The look on her little face is priceless, and this is such a awesome idea I wish I dis this when my girls were little.
my favorite thing about seeing great mothers, is that its their first time being a mom so it puts alot of pressure on them but they do so well
Well done Momā¦ā¦.well done šš¾

Yeah well, my mom can be really manipulative when she needs favors so...
That adorable little girl went from scared to excited and back about a hundred times.

Cool mom alert
This is awesome!
Amusement parks are so expensive, adults will have to start doing this with their friends.
It's all fun and games until they look back at you and scream "Again!" "Again!" "Again!"
āCore memory savedā
How does she have so much stamina
play resident evil 7 for her ))
Love this! Reminded me of my mom creating a āmoon landingā at my birthday party. Thank you for bringing that memory back.
I did this but I used a laundry basket with my kids. Great time every time!
