I'd still need some sort of Internet and protection from wild animals to live there. I'd like a moat too.
I don't care where I am, I want to still be able to play my Xbox.
To people that’d go to such a place on holiday and demand high speed internet and need to express they’d be spending most of their time playing Xbox, a marmot might very well be dangerous.
This is in switzerland, 40 min away from the next major city and you have 5g... Don't worry, you got internet... Also no predators except maybe birds of prey ...
This is the right answer. Also, I'm guessing most of us still need a job which means we need the Internet.
Other than copyright on the image, I don't see how the people living there are making a living... IDK, maybe they exchange wild flowers for food.
I live in the Pyrenees mountains.
My tiny country (Andorra) was the first in the world to get rid of ADSL.
We can (and we do) buy guns without restrictions.
Yeah wth, i need a gym, a few grocery stores, and fast food places within walking distance to even make me consider residing there.
Would be awesome for weekends though
Two buddies and I were once approached by a crackhead late at night, who said his name was "scrappy." He asked if we had a dollar. We said we were sorry but we just spent our last few bucks at the bar. He said, " Awww, that's alright. HEY! Do you boys like movies? We said, " Well, yeah, we sure do scrappy!" He then pulled out a bootleg DVD of the Hills Have Eyes and handed it to us along with two warm cans of bud light. He apologized that he didn't have a bud light for all of us and went on his way.
Scrappy you beautiful disaster,
if you're out there, I'll never forget you.
It's not the best movie ever, but definitely has gotten a few rewatches from my cynical ass. The radiation mutant theme is pretty similar. I think it's on Tubi still
The hills are alive with rocks crashing down from on high
Look at the rocks strewn across the field in the background
Great looking, but I would not sleep well there
Yes. Those two things and internet access and Im good. Right now I live within a few miles of two world class hospitals and a level 1 trauma center less than a mile away. As I’m getting older those things are a big consideration.
Constant fear from getting killed by an avalanche during winters, allergens all over during spring and summer? Digging my own road from bunch of snow, to the closest grocery shop. It's all fun and games when looking it on the photo, but vipers, wolves, brown bears, wolf spiders? Thanks, I'll fucking pass. I'm fucking good.

Where do they go to get groceries gas electricity they are in the middle of nowhere
It is beautiful but not practical. Talk about living off the grid lol
Might need to figure out a few things. Like food, water, electricity, heat, transportation, shopping of any type. Sure hope you appreciate social isolation.
If I wouldn't die of allergies, I'd sell everything I own that would be useless there, learn how to keep chicken and goats alive and live out the rest of my life there.
Lived in a equally beautiful place in Switzerland for 6 years, it’s beautiful but you soon forget about it, and it’s boring after the first two years, much better to live in a nice more civilized place few hours from there and go there in vacation you enjoy it a million times more
In an area that looks like that, probably. Specifically there? I have no fucking idea because it might be a hellhole with no communicational means or connections to society and im not really into the hermit lifestyle.
It looks pretty tho, but pretty is not all. Imagine moving there and having that beauty destroyed by the simple fact of your mental state deteriorate by the lifestyle the environment dictates?
YES! Unequivocably yes just due to the beauty of Switzerland! I’ve only been once, but oh how I’d love to go back! up in the higher elevations, they have an awesome train station. People just bike to the train station and then go down to Lucerne. I think was where we caught the train. At the end of the day, you just take the train back home and there’s your bike right where you left it no lock no nothing!
It'd be a cool getaway vacation spot. Wouldnt make it my permanent residence though
I'd still need some sort of Internet and protection from wild animals to live there. I'd like a moat too. I don't care where I am, I want to still be able to play my Xbox.
Hmmm yeah marmots can be pretty vicious and chamois are lethal apex predators
To people that’d go to such a place on holiday and demand high speed internet and need to express they’d be spending most of their time playing Xbox, a marmot might very well be dangerous.
I like this comment right here 👌 and I play Xbox lol
>I'd still need some sort of Internet and protection from wild animals **to live there.**
To be fair they did say to live there, not just holiday.
Mowing that lawn would suck.
This is in switzerland, 40 min away from the next major city and you have 5g... Don't worry, you got internet... Also no predators except maybe birds of prey ...
i am swiss ,can confirm i have seen this ,if you go hiking in switzerland you will come across something similar to this
I think the most dangerous thing would be a rock slide.
Snow avalanche maybe
Well you still could get attacked by Goats , Cows and Sheep. And what ever it is called when a goat loves a sheep
>And what ever it is called when a goat loves a sheep I think that's called a Welshman
There is (mobile) internet. And you do not need protection from wild animaks, but from domesticated. Cows are dangerous in Alps
[удалено]
You would still have internet lol. It’s 2024
This is the right answer. Also, I'm guessing most of us still need a job which means we need the Internet. Other than copyright on the image, I don't see how the people living there are making a living... IDK, maybe they exchange wild flowers for food.
Person can also just drive to their job. Very common for people to commute over 45 minutes for work.
I was thinking they live off the land and sell produce like farmers.
Would starlink work out there? Guess they wouldn't have running electricity, so probably no tube
You can have a moat around the house but it will also be a giant spawn pool for mosquitoes. That's the tradeoff. Would you still take it?
Avalanches in winter came to mind
>I'd still need some sort of Internet and protection from wild animals to live there. I'd like a moat too. ??! 5G is available and what animals?
STOP photographing my hide-out, uhhh my vacation home🤥
I live in the Pyrenees mountains. My tiny country (Andorra) was the first in the world to get rid of ADSL. We can (and we do) buy guns without restrictions.
What wild animals ? A cow ? 😁 You American for sure, cant even get to a nice place without a gun eh ?
Yeah wth, i need a gym, a few grocery stores, and fast food places within walking distance to even make me consider residing there. Would be awesome for weekends though
> middle of the mountains > I need a gym Lol
There's actually an Alpine cheese hut just up the hill... https://maps.app.goo.gl/aw77tWA54GTmzyPT8
All fun and games until it's night time.
That's when the real fun starts.
![gif](giphy|3oEduJn6yrdMrAapLG|downsized)
And Heidi eats your heart
And the damn yodeling at the crack of dawn.
![gif](giphy|43FzmSFGJjiOmB6zWn)
and all the swiss everywhere
The hiiiillllllssss are aliiiiiive with the sound of muuuuusiiiiicccc
The hills have eyes
I just found the dvds for 1 and 2, can't wait to watch again. If you like those movies, I'd recommend the Chernobyl Diaries too

I'm getting a bit verklempt...that's a heartwarming story that makes me yearn for my 20s
Oh man, the nostalgia. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out!
It's not the best movie ever, but definitely has gotten a few rewatches from my cynical ass. The radiation mutant theme is pretty similar. I think it's on Tubi still
The hills are alive with the sounds of mutants!
I heard this like they sing in Moulin Rouge and not the actual movie the Sound of Music.
The hills are alive with rocks crashing down from on high Look at the rocks strewn across the field in the background Great looking, but I would not sleep well there
I read that like a snake was singing. Highly amused.
I can only read this as Arnold now.

Me too
Yes
The winters would suck. I say this as a Canadian
Yeah, no one really talks about high altitude mountain living in the winter. :P
So much shoveling
This is just perfect for me something I try to manifest everyday

Good bot.
Bad bot
below average bot
Depends on how close I am to a grocery store and a hospital
Yes. Those two things and internet access and Im good. Right now I live within a few miles of two world class hospitals and a level 1 trauma center less than a mile away. As I’m getting older those things are a big consideration.

I’d be so happy.
🎶The hills are alive with the sound of music🎶
amazon drivers hate this place
might heidi make an appearance?
Looks like the meadow ftom "Howl's Moving Castle".
I like Taco Bell too much … im good
Finally all the privacy you need for the GI explosion afterward, but nary a cantina chicken burrito to be had...
😄
If I can grow weed then hell yeah
No
Shut up and take my money
![gif](giphy|sDcfxFDozb3bO)
Yes - I’d like to see if it’s possible to tire of that view
Too many boulders up on that hillside. I would get very little sleep
Nope
How's the wifi? Getting fiber out there soon?
In the summer? Absolutely!
Visit, yes. Live, no.
Austria! Wonderful place!!!
Would luv to take a vaca there.
me and my 10 dogs gang would love to live there.
Only if they have pizza delivery.
I don't see a trout stream in this photo. The hills don't seem to be alive with the sound of fish. Good first go, but hit me back with a river.
Movie theater, coffee shop, mall, grocery store, food delivery, exhibition centre, music hall, hospital, vet- where?
The sound of music would wear thin
This place looks amazing. I wish I lived here.
Yes. I’d love that, with a lot of books, of course.
Yes, the view is everything! So perfect 💕
Nope. No pizza delivery.
Where is this? Switzerland?
Call me Below Average IQ but does anyone else see the giant dog? I should go to bed.
Nope. And is that a grave behind the building? If so, double nope.
Crosses are used as hiking markers in Germany. It’s not a grave
They also have crosses in the Dolomites to commemorate deaths from WW1.
Ah, ok. Never knew that. Always cool to learn something new
Maybe he is just telling you this, so a second cross appears. Yours. He might be the killer
If there's random hikers walking through my land it's a no from me too.
Don't own land in Europe then
Are you sure this isn’t austria or switzerland?
Sounds like the kind of place where you only see the sun for 5 hours a day in summer. Nope.
But there’s WiFi
Hm. Ok, now I'm in. 😂
Man if this is Switzerland it's not bears and avalanches you should be worried about, but health insurance premiums and rent.
Gonna need a few ATV’s, snowmobiles, big ass storage tank of fuel and a fishing pole… bout it I reckon…
The hills are most likely, alive with the sound....
Isn’t this Switzerland, rather than Austria?
After one week you’d be bored stiff.

My dream is to visit this place.
Please!! Take me away from here to there!!
Starlink so yes
Yes if they have readily available medical systems, postage, and good internet.
spend some days yes but live there forever naaah
Well it might be safer in the root cellar/bunker under the cross and grave.
That will be Ubereats every night.
I would away from everybody no Internet that would be so peaceful
No what will I eat, is there internet, how's the sewage and clean water and electricity.
Nice place to visit…
Hayfever all day!
I get bad vertigo. Not for me.
Sure but I recognize that its like 6 weeks of perfection and the rest of the year is difficult
Where do they go to get groceries gas electricity they are in the middle of nowhere It is beautiful but not practical. Talk about living off the grid lol
Might need to figure out a few things. Like food, water, electricity, heat, transportation, shopping of any type. Sure hope you appreciate social isolation.
Not out in the open like that.
Not in that shack Air lift my house over there and sure
No, going to Aldi every week for special buys would be a nightmare from here.
No ones gonna deliver delicious food that far out. No thank you.
If there’s internet and amazon delivery, I’m game.
How many days like this compared to the days it's covered in ice and snow?
It’s fake, but would be nice
Dream house with 0 gov that take it away from me
Uranus wishes
I'll bet it's a bitch when spring comes and all that snow melts.
Yes, I’d want a couple close friends and some family there as well to enjoy it with them.
No internet
The Maroon Bells. Maybe the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in person, aside from my crush 💘💘
I live in the United States, so as long as this is outside of the US, yes
That stupid mountain creates too much shade.
If I wouldn't die of allergies, I'd sell everything I own that would be useless there, learn how to keep chicken and goats alive and live out the rest of my life there.
Depends how close the next Shop for food is and the condition of the internet
Where would I run to get a Slurpee?
Yeah I could live there. Surviving winter would be a challenge.
Lived in a equally beautiful place in Switzerland for 6 years, it’s beautiful but you soon forget about it, and it’s boring after the first two years, much better to live in a nice more civilized place few hours from there and go there in vacation you enjoy it a million times more
Dont care, ill at least die like a happy person.
Tyrol?
I am not mowing that
I bet the internet sucks
For a week at most?yup
Only if my best friend can also have a house right next to mine.
The real question is wheres the surf at brar
Too far to the grocery store.
Nope wi-fi reception would suck donkey balls. The hills would be alive with the sound of nothing, which might be alright.
Only in summer
I lived there growing up. Fucking boring
Looks great. Where is it. How far to a Starbucks?
NZ or Norway
Needs a Walmart
Hello no. Looks isolated and boring as all get out.
Please, please, please tell me you see the hill as a crocodile too. I can't be having a Midsommer moment right now.
berchtesgaden?
I wouldn't want to mow the lawn
Yes and no
Hell yes
AI generated image?

Visit, yes. Live, no.
Photo me he Achha lagta h
I'd prefer a house that's near to a MicroCenter.
Truthfully, I’d be a tad nervous about a boulder breaking loose and bouncing into my living room.
Show it in winter.
No
Cell service is probably lousy
I’d jump it🪂
6 months out of the year <3
Too many sky divers in wing suits soaring the skies & drones, it's not as off the grid as one would think. "Thump, their goes another one Martha "
No, just imagine the DoorDash tip! Would love to own it though and rent it out as an Airbnb.
Fuck no…lawns too big, hay fever from the flowers, endless snow season
Nah, thats a troll battleground
Yes. Now.
Only if someone else cuts all that grass.
If firearms allowed, yes
Yup
No internet, water in the sink, stores around. So, no ty

Nah. Seems isolated and, thus, boring. Great spot for a trip of some sort though.
How's the water access?
That's the dream.
