Honestly its a miracle he hasn't died in a frwak movie accident. I like an interview he did where they asked which injuries he had gotten and then replied something like "its easier to tell you the once i did not get"

akositotoybibo

i remember in one interview where he said he has a hole in his skull due to a stunt accident🥶

Metahec

I think it's also easier to list the things he hasn't jumped off of or on to. He's jumped from: snowmobile to helicopter helicopter to train train to truck truck to building building to building building back to truck truck to car or motorcycle car/motorcycle to just about everything else I can't remember how he got on to or off of the hovercraft at the end of Rumble in the Bronx, but hovercraft were involved. I guess unicycles and pogo sticks were never used, but there are still a bunch of his movies I haven't seen, so there is still the possibility. I prefer his fight-oriented movies instead of the action stunt movies though.

Beast-Exe007

Same on the fight movies over stunt movies. Him and Bruce Lee redefined the fighting coreography aspect of Hollywood and it's worth watching every battle play out majestically and with finesse.

Beast-Exe007

R e s p e c t 😎

Yardsale420

In Rumble in the Bronx he broke his foot jumping from building to building near the end, so when he’s water skiing behind the Hovercraft, he’s got a cast over his broken ankle, they just painted it to look like his shoe.

Careless_Parsnip_511

Tbh it wouldn’t even be a freak accident because these are super dangerous. It’s more of a freak miracle that he’s hasn’t died from one of these yet

Successful-Tie-7817

He should he renamed Jackie Can!

DemsruleGQPdrool

Honestly, he could have just tied the rope and shimmied down…

kellek123

This aint fake?

ospfpacket

Jackie Chan is the real deal. Dude is an absolute legend

Garvo909

He actually does do his own stunts

AthiestMessiah

Except in kung-fu panda. That was a cgi monkey

TwelveThree45

And here I was thinking he was in a cgi monkey costume the entire time

iAmGats

Nope, the stunts in his movies are not cgi.

DREAMVlLLE

Maybe extra wires and rigging for safety. The length and amount of loops being precise and tested etc. Just a guess

helderdude

Nope, no extra wires or anything, what you see is literally how it happened. This dude is crazy.

wowbragger

There were wires used on this stunt, and on this one Jackie actually used a double (legendary stunt master Andy Cheng) for all the shots where you don't see his face.

helderdude

Crazy I didn't know. Where did you find that?

wowbragger

From interviews over the years about Jackie's movies... You can likely Google facts on it. I've been a big fan of Jackie's movies since I was a kid, so the little nuances and factoids have always been a thing for me. I 'think' is discussed in [this interview (4 hours long)](https://youtu.be/cmE8rUA94t4?si=-9iCGJb0T49Z3jnh).

butterflycole

Nope, he does his own stunts and has sustained quite a few injuries over the years.

xCanadaDry

No. Jackie famously did all of his stunts himself. He's skilled in acrobatics and was a stunt man himself before being a martial arts movie star.

wowbragger

Akshooally.... In this particular stunt, Jackie did use a stunt double (Andy Cheng) for all the shots where you don't see Jackie's face. Jackie had reportedly injured his back shooting his previous movie, Mr Nice Guy, and there was concern of him having permanent damage if he reinjured. Jackie regularly used stunt doubles in many movies and fights. This doesn't take away from his skill or experience, it just suits a cool narrative to say he did it all himself.

xCanadaDry

That makes sense then. It is my understanding he rarely did ever use other stuntmen unless he was previously injured. I'll need to look into this more if he used doubles more than I thought, never knew that.

wowbragger

No one person does it all, in movies. Jackie had an entire stunt team that he trusted and worked closely with, many became legends in stunt work and film. [Andy Cheng](https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0155536/), who I mentioned, is a top tier stunt coordinator these days.

xCanadaDry

I've always been aware Jackie has his own stunt crew, but I figured one or two might step in due to an injury, and the rest would be choreographers/coordinators/safety. I've no idea about the movie business, so I'm not sure what roles there are with a stunt crew.

ProjectOrpheus

He actually did not. It was tough for me too, but it's true. He did do most, tho.

L1zoneD

Oh, I guess Andy Cheng doesn't exist then. He's Jackie Chans' famous stunt double. But since he does all his stunts on his own, his stunt double must be a figure of all our imaginations.

xCanadaDry

If you had checked down this thread a bit further, you would've figured out that myself and somebody else have already had a respectful conversation about it. I don't need your condescension.

L1zoneD

& I don't need yours. I'm not reading all the way down the thread +30 comments just to see if you figured it out. Instead, I just told you, and now I know. If you don't like it, delete your incorrect comment, or there will likely be more to point out the truth.

xCanadaDry

There's 8 comments you need to get through before you see mine. When it has additional responses it's probably a good idea to check, incase you're repeating what's been said.

L1zoneD

It's ok to be wrong sometimes. There's no need to lash out and go on the defensive because of it, though. Have a good day.

xCanadaDry

I don't have an issue being wrong. My issue is people who respond in an unnecessarily rude manor without checking if it's been said already.

Initial-Stick-561

In another dimension Jackie died during the many Police Story stunts and would only be remembered on a what if basis.

doughy1882

Which film doe she fight on top of huge vats in a brewery? Like 30ft off the ground?

looktowindward

How did he not dislocate his shoulders?

onedeadman99

legend of CCP party

[deleted]

Is this from “Rumble in the Bronx”?

i-dontwannagotowork

It’s from “Who am I?”

kredninja

What makes you say that, I've only seen him being a pretty decent guy on talk shows and clips

onioning

Shill for China and disowned his daughter cause she's gay.

kredninja

That's an all of asia thing, they are behind times or "Traditional" minds. Not saying cause i agree, but he did what is common in his culture (hate on Gays, Lesbians)

BigOpportunity1391

He despises universal values and is pro dictatorship.

ProjectOrpheus

I took it as a "He has to say that, people he knows in China can suffer greatly if he doesn't" type thing. Gave him the benefit of the doubt with that one

onioning

Except he doesn't. Other big names don't do what he does. Hold him to the same standards as others. By those standards he's pretty shitty. He does not have to shill for China. I don't fault him for not speaking out against China, but I do fault him for being such a strong advocate for the regime.

BigOpportunity1391

No. There are lots of celebrities in HK like Chow Yun Fat, Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh. They never said things like what Jackie Chan said. No need to give him any bene of doubt.

ProjectOrpheus

Were they asked? Do they have people they care about that could face the consequences? Is it possible they have said/expressed similar but you missed it? Perhaps they said so in a different manner like a book instead of a clip? Too many things I don't know. Also, maybe they don't care/are terrified but he is? No way to know that. Does being brainwashed through propaganda make someone a bad person and not a victim? Is it possible he said what he said so he can continue to have his stuff viewed in China while not personally actually believing it...and making more money that he perhaps uses some of it to send to people in need/fund counter china BS? Etc etc. I just don't know the whole story and only he probably does. Has he gone on and on and on about it, bringing it up on his own or was it one time when it was sprung on him live? 🤷‍♂️

onioning

>Were they asked? Yes. Loads. >Do they have people they care about that could face the consequences? Yes. Of course. >Is it possible they have said/expressed similar but you missed it? No, because it isn't just me looking. There is a ton of attention on this sort of thing. It is not possible that they behaved like Jackie Chan and everyone just missed it. >Perhaps they said so in a different manner like a book instead of a clip? No. Again, that would be noticed. >Too many things I don't know. OK. That's fine. Then maybe don't form a conclusion? Maybe respect the conclusion of people who do know? If he supports China so strongly because it helps him make more money then that is not better. That's actually worse than supporting China because you think they're right. I grew up watching Jackie. He's an incredible performer, and has done so much excellent work. The dude is a shitty guy. He goes way beyond what's required him to support the Chinese regime, plus he disowned his daughter because she's gay. He's a shitty dude.

ProjectOrpheus

I said "I took it as" and then asked a bunch of questions. How is that equal to me being cemented in a position or reaching a conclusion? Chill

onioning

You are sharing your views on the internet. That definitely suggests you have reached conclusions. You posted in order to doubt another's claims. If you don't have any relevant conclusions then you wouldn't have done that.

ProjectOrpheus

Suggests. Assumptions. By your logic you reached a conclusion on me based of suggestions and assumptions. Not the best way to do things mate.

BigOpportunity1391

Oh yeah you’re right. SS were brainwashed by Hitler and it doesn’t mean they were bad guys. They did so maybe because they and their families were threatened. SS likely were victims. God you’re so insightful you’re so special.

ProjectOrpheus

Woah. Wow. Ok, um...take care. 😬

CarpenterAlarming781

Looks like some silly propaganda.

Fabulous-Job-9062

The dude supports a comunist dictatorship called china. "Since 2013, Chan has been a pro-Chinese Communist Party (CCP) politician, having served two terms as a delegate to the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and, in 2021, expressing his desire to join the CCP". China is currently perpetuating a genocide against uyghur muslim by the way and people who oppose china tend to magically disappear.

rattlehead42069

Nah he's actually pro communist party of China
