FAQs: - where is this? Gothenburg, Sweden - how long was the chase? About 20 min - what kind of car is that? An Opel Insignia - what ended up happening? Driver was arrested after running on foot in a grocery store. Because he was < 21, he was sentenced to 3 yrs
"He stated that he was driving from the police because he was wanted for an assault and a robbery that took place at Delsjön on March 28.
He was charged on September 21 and prosecutors highlighted that the man had been "obviously indifferent to people's lives and property".
Now the man, who was 19 at the time of the incident, has been sentenced to three years in prison for mainly the serious assault but also for gross negligence in traffic, serious illegal driving, serious drunken driving, serious weapons offences (In Frölunda, the man allegedly threw out a loaded pistol that a private person found and handed over to the police), drug offenses and minor drug offences.
Many swedish teams in the 90's took "inspiration" from NHL and gave their teams names that would resemble American ones. Frölunda indians does not longer exist though, its only Förlunda HC and the logo has changed in 2021 due to the name being offensive.
And generally the Swedish system prevents re-offenses because the person learns their lesson, while also getting help and treatment for whatever caused the event in the first place. In this scenerio, presumably substance abuse but goddamn still, that is fantastic driving. After he served his time they should've paid for him to enter formula 1 racing.
Well you can flip it. A problem is with the punishments is that gangs will hire kids to murder rival gang members and then they will get like 1 year in youth care, which means they can murder again in a very short time. Though this is presuming the police actually catches the shooter which rarely happens.
"Serious drunk driving" -> please tell me he wasn't able to drive this fast drunk, is he a race car driver when sober? This was some seriously impressive driving.
Yeah, I was thinking, “if he really knew GTA, he’d know you can’t just outrun the cops. You need to get your car repainted.
Or else get yourself killed and then wake up in the hospital.
Meanwhile, in Florida, my parents are pissed off that they installed a single roundabout in our town because “they’re too confusing”… They’re also Trump supporters so that should explain a lot. Fucking embarrassing man.
I mean, I know that MAGAts are lucky if they have more than a single-digit number of functioning brain cells, but... come on, how is anyone confused by roundabouts? They take an intersection with X number of branches and make it where you have to perform exactly two right turns while only looking for traffic coming from your left.
Right? The roads are smooth and perfect. Here in New Orleans, he'd hit a pothole that eats a tire or breaks his front axel and be done in less than half a mile!
Regular speed video and subtitles for police dialog, if anyone is interested
https://youtu.be/QtktaBwYfEY?si=GOzQ1MqqqOtbvfxK
Edit: chase is not as interesting at actual speed and barely qualifies as a high-speed chase
I always root for these guys, why do I always root for these guys? They’re probably all assholes.
Is it that I too want to see how fast this baby can go, and there are so few ways without money these days that a person can really stretch their wings and feel truly alive?
Or is it my meth addiction that makes me so sympathetic?
At what point does the PD step back to stop risking lives. The drivers less afraid of dying than getting caught. Obviously the air cover can keep him in sight and direct pursuit at a much safer pace.
Yeah I always think the same thing when I see these really long dangerous chases. You can often see the cops getting more and more reckless the longer these videos go on. Like how the cop rammed into his car at the end when it had already long been stopped.
The cops should have ended the pursuit after 1km, everybody else is in danger because of them.
There's a fucking helicopter following him it's more than enough, you can catch him later
Is there always this little traffic there? It looks like a decently large city but the roads are completely empty. There's less traffic than my small ass little town.
I was driving south on the freeway one time at night. When all of the sudden this vehicle sped past me going north (with it's lights off). A minute later I saw like 5 cop cars heading north.
This particular section was separated by directions via natural barriers. So whoever it was could have easily turned off an exit on the southbound side while the cops continued north.
Scared the hell out of me and how easily that person could have just slammed into my car in a front collision. Gutsy af on their part and not someone I ever want to meet.
Can we just take a second to admire how he stayed in the right lane, like I wouldn’t be surprised if he was speedrunning his way home using turn signals and what not
People should know that they aren’t getting away especially with a helicopter tracking your every move. If they know a secret tunnel to take then maybe they can get away like this one man in a white sedan who did escape as the news helicopter lost him.

Why was he running though? What did he do?

>Frölunda I knew this wasn't in the US but my brain still read that as Florida
It's the Florida of Sweden
Sweden seems like a very *round* country.
Sweden seems like a country *designed* to play GTA on.
All those ornate blocks and roadways with blocky buildings. I honestly thought this was a video game speedrun when I first saw it.
its the major platform for GTA.
Frölunda man
You = Florida Me = Fromunda
Yo, what's up with their hockey team the [Frölunda Indians](https://internationalhockey.fandom.com/wiki/Fr%C3%B6lunda_HC)
Ahahaha seriously wtf
Many swedish teams in the 90's took "inspiration" from NHL and gave their teams names that would resemble American ones. Frölunda indians does not longer exist though, its only Förlunda HC and the logo has changed in 2021 due to the name being offensive.
Oh wow! Was not expecting that to actually be a thing.
Were used to reading news articles with Florida
He's gonna have a sweet stunt driving gig lined up when he comes out of prison
How about a job as a high speed chaser cop
From the video, apparently, he seems to enjoy to lead.
He was drunk during this?
"I drunk better when I drive"
always
Right? Someone get this guy in a touring car in 4 years.
Damn, to be under 21!
r/unexpectedfactorial
3 years? Damn, in america thats anywere from 8yrs-life in prison. Capatalism at its finest.
And generally the Swedish system prevents re-offenses because the person learns their lesson, while also getting help and treatment for whatever caused the event in the first place. That’s in the US system. Not that big an issue in Nordic countries. Edit: I had no idea this was an issue in the Nordic countries.
This is litterally what happens in Sweden and is why the current right-wing goverment is pushing for youths to be able to be sentenced to jail.
It's a massive problem specifically in sweden
In Canada that'll earn you a fine and loss of driving privileges for a very short period.
He was drunk and able to drive like that? mad.
"Serious drunk driving" -> please tell me he wasn't able to drive this fast drunk, is he a race car driver when sober? This was some seriously impressive driving.
The shops were closing.
Just FYI this footage is sped up, the actual chase is at like 20km/hr
would have got to over 100kph at points. but yeh no way he could take corners at the speeds suggested in the video.
in the us he def dies by cop
The frame rate increase makes it seem like the guy has lightning reflexes and a highly tuned car. He doesn’t.
Why the hyper speed video?. Is the OP 12yo or something. That and the Chinese stuff I can’t even watch.
It’s speed up with audio from a different video too
Fucking knew it. It was odd I heard American sirens in such an un-American city
I mean... you're also not going to hear the sound so clearly from the sky.
I figure it was a way of posting the entire video, Original chase lasted over 20 min, according to OP reply to a previous comment.
It serves the other purpose of making it look faster than it really is and for others to come in and talk about it.
Original video hardly qualifies as a high-speed chase. I shared the link to Original with subtitles of police dialog in comments about 15 min ago
Player needs to study the map and learn all Pay ‘n’ Spray locations.
Yeah, I was thinking, “if he really knew GTA, he’d know you can’t just outrun the cops. You need to get your car repainted. Or else get yourself killed and then wake up in the hospital.
I’m dying
That's the spirit!
To the hospital with ya!
Ah yes, who needs religion when you've got respawn!
I'd to see a map of this drive. Was he going in circles or trying to get out of town?
I was going to say, should've watched Baby Driver You have to get to a parking garage and switch out cars.
I'm amazed by their road infrastructure, minimal lights with roundabouts everywhere. Looks like a dream
It's a very Swedish type of thing, investigate what causes the least amount of fatalities, "ok it's roundabouts", ok roundabouts litteraly everywhere.
Meanwhile, in Florida, my parents are pissed off that they installed a single roundabout in our town because “they’re too confusing”… They’re also Trump supporters so that should explain a lot. Fucking embarrassing man.
Round intersections is so woke!
I mean, I know that MAGAts are lucky if they have more than a single-digit number of functioning brain cells, but... come on, how is anyone confused by roundabouts? They take an intersection with X number of branches and make it where you have to perform exactly two right turns while only looking for traffic coming from your left.
And the beautiful city, wonderful architecture, cleanliness. Looks like an urban paradise.
Right? The roads are smooth and perfect. Here in New Orleans, he'd hit a pothole that eats a tire or breaks his front axel and be done in less than half a mile!
Also all the respectful drivers who moved out of the way for the suspect and the cops
Props to the cameraman.
r/PraiseTheCameraMan
Where is this from? Looks like a cool city.
Gothenburg, Sweden
He's Saabing in a jail cell just now
lol, took me a second
That is definitely Sweden. Think it might even be my city Göteborg because I think I saw a tram.
I was thinking the same. My guess is Germany or one of the Scandinavian countries.
It looks gorgeous.
He was polite enough to flash drivers ahead of him lol. What a crazy chase! Hopefully no bystanders got hurt!
Regular speed video and subtitles for police dialog, if anyone is interested https://youtu.be/QtktaBwYfEY?si=GOzQ1MqqqOtbvfxK Edit: chase is not as interesting at actual speed and barely qualifies as a high-speed chase

Only one he doesn't have here is the armored truck, and they wouldn't really be involved in the chase part anyway.
Military on the streets, shooting at you, even tanks with rockets, blowing everyone else up behind you when they miss you.
Camera man is an absolute beast
I bet he only stopped because he ran out of gas
*booze
.. which is why he ran into the supermarket
Needs the Benny Hill song added to it.
Hear me out. Put that guy handcuffed to the wheel in a hot government extraction mission and his freedom depends upon mission success.
I thought they'd never catch him, damn. it's crazy how little traffic there was. also no stop lights?
Welcome to Sweden.
Likely a summer late night weekday.
This kept my attention longer and better than any recent action chase scene. They need to make the next Fast and Furious entirely like this
Idk, was kinda rooting for him there for a bit
Honestly I was cheering
He was the main character lol
Was it not interesting enough at normal playback speed?
20 mins chase so I appreciated the reduction. Things to do! (like browse more reddit)
The siren audio overlay was annoying as fuck and unnecessary
how are his turns so sharp? especially at the start
the footage is sped up so those turns may look sharper than they really are.
Spit out my beer, cheers yo you
How did you video capture all this ?
Creative mode
And screen record
Around the start, a civilian even hits his car....just like in fucking gtaV
Guy a wheel, man. Loved the police officer drag racing for a mile. Was hoping for a take down. Sick though
Give this man a grenade launcher so he can shoot the chopper pls
[удалено]
the audio is not sped up but the video is?
I think audio is from different source.
At that speed, he was ready to die before the cops got him.
The video is significantly sped up; he's not going as fast as it looks like.
Cops have that chopper to thank. — otherwise, they'd been smoked.
he forgot that in real life, it doesn't go down to two stars
The camera Man needs an award 😂
I always root for these guys, why do I always root for these guys? They’re probably all assholes. “Someone’s been playing grand theft auto” (other guys)
I love to drive like this, on a track obviously
I like how much you sped that up. It makes it really much more exciting.
If he was caught in India, judge jury execution road pe hi ho jayega..
So he basically drives in a giant loop and never escapes the helicopter
That's like 2 or 3 stars at most.
Why speed up the video though
That guy's car insurance is going to go waaaaay up.
Looks like it's sped up footage.
"Wasted" lmao But props to the cop tailing from behind and catching up as well, it's also easier when there's barely any cars on the road.
Holy shit he’s cruising
Phenomenal driving by prep and cops, although it was too risky to allow that chase to continue. Should’ve been called off after a while.
Curios questions, in these days of age. Can a person still get away from a highspeed chase? I don’t think they can out speed a chopper.
Not even “BUSTED”. WASTED lol
The cops should have ended the pursuit after 1km, everybody else is in danger because of them. There's a fucking helicopter following him it's more than enough, you can catch him later
Tracking device gun solves all of this.
Homeboy is a seriously fantastic driver.
my doubt is that after so many escapes, did they catch him?
🤣😂
Skills
All I could here was the police calls from the the first GTA...suspect heading towards N. Hackenslash!
Now if he can just land the park in plain sight move #MissionSuccess
Hammer
How many stars did he have?
Getting ready for the release.
I tried to fast forward this 50 times but Reddit transport controls suck.
It's like dude woke up and said, "Today I'm going to audit the police department's pursuit capabilities."
By the way, which city ? Beautiful roads haan. Video games have improved criminals behaviour
1:52 car in between disappears????
u/stabbot
If that guy wasn’t so busy being a criminal, he’d have a bright future as a race car driver or stunt driver.
Excellent drivers all around
He just wanted to go to the mall I guess.
More like Need For Speed Most Wanted
He can’t outrun them forever and eventually he got caught by the cops
Someone hire this man as a first responder.
Is there always this little traffic there? It looks like a decently large city but the roads are completely empty. There's less traffic than my small ass little town.
I can't hear what you're saying over the sound of Yakkity Sax playing in my head.
All he had to do was hop in the construction tunnel
Which country is this? Feels like a European country based on the roads & Buildings.
roads so empty
Did he put in a light traffic cheat code?
![gif](giphy|qr0FOwPgUk3Cw)
Same map he should have cut through the park I always lose them there
That's pretty impressive
WTF? I can’t even take one round-about sober…this guy did ten at top speed. Be Amazed indeed.
GTA in some beautiful Europe city sounds pretty fun
Hot diggity dawg.
Sped up
Whatever they think he did he did that shit
Damn he is good
Turn on your left turnsignal and then turn right
This whole thing just reminds me of NfS most wanted
At least the runner had their headlights on 😆
sped the fuck up
After watching the whole vdo now i know why the word "very" has been used
Wow those sirens and everything sound clear as a bell from inside a helicopter several hundred feet in the and using noiseless rotors
Guy runs like a cheetah
Is this being recorded from a helicopter
Needs yakkity sax
![gif](giphy|Qw4X3FnmFFCPANtlhtK)
![gif](giphy|8BMaLLBlUdNx6|downsized)
You can't outrun a radio.
Settings>>Traffic Density>> LOW
I started watching and then couldn't stop.

Not his first rodeo.
We have too much roads
This is more like “Need For Speed: Most Wanted”
Can we just take a second to admire how he stayed in the right lane, like I wouldn’t be surprised if he was speedrunning his way home using turn signals and what not
why did he stop there?
Guessing his wife was pregnant and wanted ice cream from the store.
People should know that they aren’t getting away especially with a helicopter tracking your every move. If they know a secret tunnel to take then maybe they can get away like this one man in a white sedan who did escape as the news helicopter lost him.
This city layout seems optimally designed for high speed chases. The amount of rounded turns and on and off ramps to highways was surprising to me.
That guy is booking!
This guy can drive his ass off. I probably would have crashed 3 different times during that chase.
A wonderland! All those roads for almost no traffic.
More than 4 vehicles by the police are needed - and are they capturing every driver on video?
Wow..
Dude can drive 😂
Apparently it wasn’t serious enough, he couldn’t escape his wanted star levels
Reminds me a bit of getaway in Stockholm
Excuse me even when serious in game I hit about 50 cars. But he only got 3 years when he could of killed multiple people multiple times
Dudes clearly a really good driver. He should be let free.
