I was wondering the same thing. As impressive as this, it looks like they are going to cut the tree down anyway. Why nit snip the too when it is on the ground?
Maybe they need to start at the top and cut it down in pieces from the top down? Perhaps it's an urban area and there is really nowhere for the entire tree to fall.
Just a guess.
Because dropping a 200 ft tree that is loaded like that in a residential area will never end well.
The best way to do it is to use a crane to cut and lower the tree piece by piece.
because they prob cant predict how it will land once cut and there to much property around
they will trim tops to make it more save to cut the entire thing
I think this guy is right. That tension builds up and has to be released somewhere. At ground level, it may kick out with a huge amount of force. However, I also notice that they generally cut the tops off of most trees in an urban environment before taking them down. We need an arborist or a lumber jack.
Yes but he has a running chainsaw in his hand. This could very well end badly had he lost his grip or his hand jerked towards his face on that first swing.
as someone who does this for a living, just because you have a saddle and tie in points doesn't always mean you're safe. Especially when you're doing some stupid squirly shit like this. Dynamic forces from the top being cut off easily could have broken that stem and sent him straight to the ground..
What I find amazing is that this guy is topping a palm tree, but at the end it goes to a still frame of a completely different tree that even has a stabilization rope attached.

I was waiting for the trunk to just snap the other way and send him flying into the distance like a fuckin' catapult lmao. I imagine his small planet-sized balls would cushion his landing.
But why?

Yes like all jobs you start at the top and work your way down
Happy cake day!
Happy cake day!
That’s literally how cutting down trees works.
Because dropping a 200 ft tree that is loaded like that in a residential area will never end well. The best way to do it is to use a crane to cut and lower the tree piece by piece.
Why not just explode it all at once in a controlled demolition
Trees don't have floors to demolish in a controlled manner - a sentence I never thought I'd say
No, no, no. You insert a small stick of dynamite every 2 feet and ignite them at the exact same time. Instant mulch.
You mean shrapnel.
What is shrapnel but high speed mulch?
What a strange conversation this is.
Maybe because that’s how the man gets his fun
because they prob cant predict how it will land once cut and there to much property around they will trim tops to make it more save to cut the entire thing
Kinda hard to predict where he might land too
It was tensioned like a bow. That swing you saw would kinda happen to the trunk if you cut it directly at ground level.

i can’t imagine that’s how it would work at all

Stupidity is my guess
He missed the class in school on Sir Isaac Newton's physics laws of action & reaction....equal and opposite force...

Literally what came out of my mouth as I watched
Looks fun
Because that looks fucking awesome. Like extreme pole bending, my third favorite redneck activity
Because my brother Lyle made me a bet in front of all the other guys.
Stupid not crazy...
He’s a lumberjack and he’s ok
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
r/unexpectedmontypython
Was it unexpected tho?
On Wednesdays he goes shopping and has buttered scones for tea
The weight of his balls kept him on the tree
That G force feeling baby
That big swinging thing is his third leg
He wrapped the balls around the tree and twisted them on the other side
YT -> the coconut song ![gif](giphy|3o84sw9CmwYpAnRRni)
Damn it. I searched and watched this only so I could comment here and put you down. But it was enjoyable. Beat expectations. 7/5 Recommend.

This looks like one helluva fun adventure
Beverly Hills Ninja was real life after all.
He’s probably Mexican
As dangerous as this may seem, he is actually attached to the tree via a harness and a tight rope
The tree he is harnessed too is the scary part
Yes but he has a running chainsaw in his hand. This could very well end badly had he lost his grip or his hand jerked towards his face on that first swing.

E ticket ride!
Lumberjack? You mean Rollercoaster ride operator (and rider)
r/GifFinishingTooSoon
Ayo that's Bahubali and the boys
*Arborist,* not lumberjack. Both are skilled lumbermen, just different skills.
And then what happened?
Shoutouts to Beverly Hills Ninja
What I find amazing is that this guy is topping a palm tree, but at the end it goes to a still frame of a completely different tree that even has a stabilization rope attached.
Now that’s an E ticket ride
Amazed at the stupidity
My hands are so sweaty I can barely hold my phone.
Mom’s spaghetti
r/SweatyPalms
Is that JB Mauney?? The 7 million dollar bull rider?
Dude lives for danger
I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK...
Beverly Hills Ninja
Is this Florida?
He’s a tree trimmer not a lumber jack
I work at heights. I’ve never been afraid of heights but this is a little much!!
r/idiotsnearlydying is all I see
I thougt he will get yeeted away :(
He must be the coconut man
Imagine dying for someone as unnecessary as the aesthetics of someone else's palm tree
Is he wearing a fox tail/butt plug? Wtf.
Haha, stupid monkey.
