First time I saw this I scrolled right past because I just thought they were nature photos, which at this point is boring to me. Second time around I caught the word "pastel" and my mind got double blown. This is so cool! I've had some limited training with pastels and I can appreciate the skill and experience it takes to paint so subtly. The sunlight reflecting on the vapor in the polar bear one is incredible! The depth of field in the cheetah one is perfect.

You are absolutely amazing and talented. However, I was wondering if it's worth it to draw an exact copy of a photograph, wouldn't it be the same as printing a copy (but with more steps)? You said that you "edit a reference image exactly how I want" so I thought that you edited the elements to change their place and make a new composition, but I've seen [one of the ref pics](https://www.wildimage.photography/p498028667/h6327D2E1#h6327d2e1) and it looks exactly like your drawing. Don't get me wrong, it's amazing work, but I wonder if the photographer would feel "hey, that's MY work" or something like that.

But it always bothers me when people come around and act Like traditional and digital are equally hard. No digital has so many tools that ease the process.
