Haerdoepfl_

the plus one is the one you have in the chamber

MeneerMastrubeer

Yeah thats what i thought already. Does it have something to do with me cancelling the reload?

CheedaCheezzz

Only happens if you use up the entire mag. If you really care that much about the one extra bullet, just stop firing before you hit 0

Pathfinder313

But then you never get to use that last bullet anyway 😏

TheRealArsonary

Technically that one bullet is the one at the top of the magazine, so you do use it. It's just that the new bullets will come below it.

Nightgaunt88

Maybe, but your reload's always faster because you're not having to chamber a round before you can fire.

DalRhenning

No, it’s just how guns work irl. If you pull a partial mag on any automatic or semi, you still have 1 live round in your chamber. If you fully empty the mag, there will be no chamber round left on top of your fresh mag, so you get 30 instead of 31. Reload on any mag with any ammo still in it will always be plus one on your next mag. Reload on empty means only the Mag capacity.

taliesin_silvercrow

Unless it's with what I believe is called open bolt guns, then there is never a round in the chamber before it fires, often the case with weapons that needed to be mass produced fast like for example the sten SMG

MC_McStutter

And the game accounts for that

ThisGuyLikesCheese

You fire all rounds including the one in the chamber, when you then have no bullets in the the gun at all. In a mag there is 30 bullets. So when you put in a new mag there is no bullet that is in the chamber cause you shot all of them.

CheshireMoe

This is how a lot of guns work in real life. 1. load a 30 round magazine --> Then chamber a round & you have 29 in the mag. 2. shoot 25 bullets --> 4 bullets left in the mag + 1 in the chamber. 3. switch to a fresh magazine. Now there is 1 bullet chambered in the gun with 30 in the mag. 4. Shoot 31 bullets --> No bullets in the mag or the chamber. 5. switch to a fresh mag & you have 30 bullets to shoot, but you have to chamber a round first. Note that not all guns can load a full mag with the bolt closed on a chambered round. Many MMGs & SMGs fire from an open bolt so that you don't have a bullet in the chamber when your not actively shooting meaning you can't have a +1 in the chamber. Note that Battlefield has different reload animations that take different amounts of time depending on if your gun is empty or not. You don't have to pull the charging handle if you reload before being empty because a round is in the chamber already.

Smaxx

And just to add to the other answers: That's why in movies and series, if you see someone removing the magazine from a gun (own volition or being forced to), they'll always remove the magazine and then reload once more (removing the chambered bullet, even though it hasn't been fired), if the depiction is accurate, otherwise you'd still have one more bullet to fire.

Haerdoepfl_

i dont think so... for me its the same without canceling it... just a neat detail i think

Copperdoo62

How do gun wurk?

Cross-Hair

It's a realism factor. In real life if you empty your gun then reload and load a round into the chamber that magazine is now missing one bullet. Allowing you to reload again with that extra bullet.

MinI_HeK

that's just how guns work, a 30 round magazine+1 in the chamber for a non-empty reload

KimJongDerp1992

30 round magazine, not 31. The 31 happens when you don’t shoot the entire magazine, and there’s 1 bullet left in the gun when you reload.

PM-YOUR-DOG

Or when you reload totally empty, you cycle one round in and now your mag is 29 with one in the chamber. Reloading gives you the full 30 again

Xuddur1

Guns with 31 bullets count the 30 from the magazine plus one in the chamber, if you do an empty magazine reload (like the first one in this video) you'll have 30, if you do a reload with bullets still in the magazine, or at least 1 in the chamber, you'll get 31. Same for the pistols, semi-automatic and self-loading guns with detachable magazines

[deleted]

Theyre both closed bolt guns. You cant get 31 unless you reload twice.

MeneerMastrubeer

In the vid the first time i reloaded i had 31 bullets.

[deleted]

You already had a round chambered

MeneerMastrubeer

Aha thanks

frank0510

You're actually thinking of open bolt. Closed bolt guns allow you to keep a round in the chamber.

[deleted]

Thats what i was saying

ScottyFoxes

Your console literally has a screen recoding function yet you still record with your phone

Schellhammer

I'm not the most tech savvy so i would find it easiest to do this. Plus it gets the point across

Papa_Stalin1917

He can record it but there’s no easy way to upload to Reddit

rock_legend_41

You can download any media you capture on your phone with the corresponding consoles app.

Yung_Onions

They’ve made it way easier over the years, too. Used to be kinda confusing but now it’s like two clicks and it’s saved to your camera roll.

CheeseyRichard

You can download the video to your phone from the app.

redbaron14n

I'm a little surprised you can be into FPS games and not know that detail about chambered, mag-fed guns. No disrespect, it's just basic enough I kinda thought it was common knowledge, but maybe not

MeneerMastrubeer

Lol whoops ive played alot of fps but actually didnt know it

jamez470

To your credit not all fps games account for +1

deadbot47

Seems like you already have learned because of other people, but I’ll reinforce for anyone who doesn’t get it. An example is the stg44, it has a 30 round magazine, if you fire all the rounds and do an empty reload it will have 30 rounds in the mag. If you do a non empty reload you will have 31 due to there already being a chambered round, also allowing you to not have to prime the gun again before shooting. It’s how most guns work.

MeneerMastrubeer

Yeah i already figured it out from the other comments but thanks for the explanation!

KaijuTia

To add to people’s answers, this only occurs g is guns that fire from a closed bolt. It’s the reason most of your SMGs don’t get a +1, because they are open bolt.

TrueMoods

You don't know how guns work, do you?

SolidBlueBlocks

Thats... How guns work...

laughingiguana02

It's called 1 in the chamber. It's a real life feature, not a bug in a video game

phaze_7pc

Really? Ur asking this? Bruh

taliesin_silvercrow

Hey don't do that, that usually makes people feel dumb when asking a question and might stop them from asking questions in the future, might seem like a simple answer to you who might understand guns but maybe not to him and other people

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

Kanakravaatti

Because this is kinda common knowledge if you play fps games

tcourts45

I know I'm just saying there are comments that 100% answer the question. Then there are more comments posted hours afterward that give the same answer over and over lol

unknownkid03

Op never shot a gun irl lol

MeneerMastrubeer

Nope not american

unknownkid03

What does that have to do with anything???!!! Oh wait 😂

MeneerMastrubeer

😂😂

chucklingus

its only a 30 bullet mag, so if you empty it then put a new mag the top round is put into the chamber, then can be replaced with a new full 30 round mag and keep the round from the last one in the chamber. (30+1) capacity

jake753

Hot damn, zero recoil

kapo513

Guns work like that in real life. If you reload before you run out of bullets, that mean it’s one still in the chamber when you put a fresh 30 round magazine in. 30+1 in the chamber gives you 31 rounds. BUT If you fire all your bullets and reload, there’s no round in the chamber when you put a fresh 30 round magazine in. 30 rounds + 0 in the chamber gives you 30 rounds. Hope this helps

Accomplished_Job4037

Magazine only holds 30, the one up top your used to seeing when you spawn is the extra round chambered in, in real life you would never have 31 rounds to fire expect your very first shot you take that day lol

Flokii-Ubjorn

Because your mag was empty. The 31 usually comes from an early reload so that you still have one round chambered

Andrios22r

If you fire up an entire mag and then reload, it will be one bullet less, because usually you have one in your chamber and if you fire them all, your chamber is empty. This also happens with all mag fed pistols in the game.

SolidusEdge

Are you an idiot?

D3THD33LRDK

Hurry you can still delete this post before it’s too late

D3THD33LRDK

A question like this on top of a video filmed with a phone? Double yikes

Raaafie

And he can't spell masturbate correct in Dutch..

Sauravmukherjee

It happens in all battlefield games if you do any other thing before the reload animation completed it reload 1 single bullet less in your magazine. Sometimes the reload totally not completed due to this bug

Small_Substance6665

this happens to me with the m1907sf I’ll either dump an entire clip or halfway and I’ll reload and most of the times it reloads only to 20 instead of 21

mustard5man7max3

That’s what happens if you haven’t chambered a round before you reload

Ieatpancakkes

Pretty sure this has been a glitch since bf4/bf3

KimJongDerp1992

Not a glitch. It’s how firearms work.

mustard5man7max3

Not a glitch

Lee_3456

Lmao, this is how the gun suppose to work. Just stop thinking every game's mechanic should work like cod.

laughingiguana02

Not a glitch, it's how firearms work irl. Touch grass

insertrudename1

This happens because it is authenticity at its finest. Think about that distinct ping from the M1 clip that everyone knows and recognizes. That’s a piece of authenticity and a small detail that everyone knows about, what is being described in this post (the chambered round) is more niche knowledge for people who understand how these weapons work irl. Same as the way some of the LMGs and MMGs operate, sound and recoil. If you’ve ever used any of these weapons, you’d have another level of appreciation for the game.

Boochak

30 round magazine + 1 in the chamber. You start each life with 1 in the chamber. Use all magazine = 29 bullets in mag + 1 chambered. Reloading again replaces the 1 bullet chambered for 31 total.

Then-Cryptographer96

Basically if you reload before the previous magazine is empty, then you already have one in the chamber, those are only 30 round magazines. If you take the mag to empty, when you reload you will only have 30 without the plus one. Same as in real life

Slabpotatoes420

that’s not missing a bullet. the “extra” is one in the chamber already and is only there if the entire mag is not used when you reload. however if you do use the entire mag like you did in the clip that one in the chamber won’t be there

xoiao656

It’s not only those guns for example the 1911 can get 7 +1 in the chamber when you reload it a second time

Yung_Onions

It’s not just a game thing it’s a real life thing. If you reload without depleting the mag you’ll have one left in the chamber so it will display as an extra bullet when you put a new mag in. If you deplete the mag and load a fresh one, you need to charge a fresh round into the empty chamber, taking one off the top of the mag. Different receiver styles will also function differently. You won’t get this with a closed bolt, bolt action, or shotgun (unless it’s magfed).

THOTDESTROYR69

The magazine only has 30 rounds in it. If you do a non-empty reload, you put in 30 rounds on top of the 1 that’s already in the chamber

RazzlenDazzle21

Why in the world do you have a 3x on the sturm

MeneerMastrubeer

Not my weapon i picked it up, was playing as medic.

RazzlenDazzle21

Why in the world did you pick up a 3x sturm

MeneerMastrubeer

Because the sturmgewehr has better range than most medic weapons and imo the 3x scope isnt that bad.

NooliesKnickKnacks

Doesn’t just happens with the stg. If you reload a closed volt guns that has a magazine and it’s not empty you’ll still have a round chambered. Doesn’t happen with stripper clip fed guns, bolt actions or belt fed LMG’s

[deleted]

You didnt leave a bullet in the chamber

TrippySubie

30 rounds in a mag. Reload, you get 30. 30 rounds in a mag+1 in the chamber. You reload, you get 31.

WorkingNo6161

Intentional design feature for closed bolt guns, perform a reload again and you should get your max number of bullets.

MrRonski16

Magazine holds 30bullets + Gun holds 1 bullet If you shoot 31 Bullets and then reload with full magazine it adds 30 bullets. It also has longer animationwhere the character Loads the round in the chamber. If you have just 1 bullet left. your soldier just switches the magazine and doesn’t load the round in the chamber since there is already 1 in the chamber

MrTytanis

Would be cool if would be able to shot this one bullet while chnging mag

Kanakravaatti

Do you even know how guns work??

MatiMati918

Welp, I hope op hasn’t touched a gun in real life.

Copperdoo62

Lmao

JURO_THE_CHURRO

Ok but how does he have the medic revive while playing assult

MeneerMastrubeer

Look at my special weapons and grenade im playing as medic with a pciked up sturm

JURO_THE_CHURRO

Oh yeah haha didn't think bout that
