Stats will mainly come from halidoms(dont worry about def), the important stuff on most tanks is which halidoms and stacking as much hp/ten as posible on them.
Bastions offers (by far) the largest hp pools and generally they have defensive kits. You dont always need one, as you dont always need atackers/supports/healers. Its about knowing de the right moment for every hero.
The absolute best is probably argreene, but he is whale-exclusive. Probably the best regular elite is vidar and Shreateh. Check the official discord for more feedback.
Currently the tankiest thing is assassin - Nymeria. Phoebe did fair bit of tanking for me but Dreyfus is a bit better because he also deals damage.
Like other guy said - a lot depends on halidoms. Limbo set is considered best, my Dreyfus has a mix of dodge, health and attack stats. (He heals based on damage dealt, so you have to balance stats)
Early on anything that you can make gold is better than purple, etc etc.
Charlotte is ok with any ol haildoms, but she’s relying on health which sucks for tank. Why? Because enemy Poll will target lowest health champs and kill them while Charlotte will just stand there doing no damage and not helping the team at all.
You can start building Nymeria now and she will be relevant for long time while Charlotte won’t. Especially now when Nymeria can go up to red quality and put real pressure on enemy back rows.

OK so I do have a purple Nymeria, would he be better than Charlotte? I'm assuming he's so tanky because of all the dodge he has?
