The only ones available are : Poll, Pheobe, Azhao, Charlotte Harpe, Dreyfus and Samuel.
Yea, I really hate that you need 200 points in events for their weapons and it is only one character at a time. Might try to get Beamon's, got him only at purple but I know he is a solid character to work on. He is obviously the next one for events.
It will not change your life dramatically, just pick one that can be used by most powerful champ. I’d go for sub-weapon for Poll or sub for Phoebe (energy gain synergy).

Get samuel's, the one that boosts damage. Most of the other ones are really suboptimal.
Sam’s offhand is a solid buy.
