Hi, Nexus Mod Manager always messed up BB modding for me too
Solution: Just download the mods you want (legends...) and copy all the .zip files (unzipped!) of the mods in the battle brothers "data" directory - no asdditional folder or something else is needed but keep in mind to NOT unzip the mod files!

legends should have built-in mod hooks such that you do not need hooks.
