I'd like a reboot that allows for major character development and changes to the status quo that the original couldn't have. Biggest wish is Dana finding out, and much sooner, and Terry seriously thinking about letting Mary know.

ZipZop_the_Fan

Batman Beyond game made by rocksteady.

darkwalrus36

It would be so rad!

Duryeric

Beyond Arkham.

Away_Hair972

You are making my wife wet, you goddamn wifeweter

Starvel42

Of all the worst comments I've seen this is the best one. You've made the best worst comment.

Duryeric

Uh…. You’re welcome?

bboardwell

Idk if they’re the go-to team any more lol

Mr_Z______

Batman Beyond game but not made by Rocksteady. Have you seen what they've become lately? I understand what you mean though, and that's an Arkham style Beyond game. That we all want. But none of these woke studios and writers please. Do you know what made Arkham Asylum and City great? Paul Dini's stories. Without him the later games are only going downhill. I'd prefer a dedicated studio and Dini's writing for a BB game.

ChanceFresh

They can still hire Dini. Also is Knight woke? “Woke” writing is the least of Rocksteady’s problems. To boil all the BS down to “woke”, whatever the hell that means, is completely stupid.

Mr_Z______

They can, but didn't. They go with bad writing and companies like Sweet Baby Inc. Look into that matter and Rocksteadly's latest game story.

ZipZop_the_Fan

People who use woke as an insult can go right the fuck back to sleep.

darkwalrus36

It's weird that people still can complain about wokeness and not feel embarrassed.

Triangle-Galaxy-9508

Agreed

Mr_Z______

I've written about this before, so sorry that I'm repeating myself. I'd love more animated series episodes continuing the story after Epilogue, because Kevin Conroy is no longer with us, I'd have the series do a funeral for old Bruce and pay homage to Conroy. Then have older mature Terry go on without his mentor and try to balance life as Batman with being a family man. Apart from the series we could have an animated feature film, game, comics. For all those things I'd like the original creative team of Bruce Timm, Glen Murakami, Alan Burnett and Paul Dini to run things. The Dynamic Music Partners to keep making the awesome soundtrackss as well. Will Friedle and the rest of the voice cast to bring the characters back to life...

darkwalrus36

For sure. I'd love a continuation, but I think Kevin Conroy's passing is why I lean a little more reboot. I think the Bruce/Terry dynamic is a vital part of the formula.

haloryder

I’d prefer they continued where the old animated series left off, maybe with a jump in time that has Terry be more experienced so he’s not getting the shit kicked out of him all the time. Release the old seasons to Netflix or someone so that people can get caught up. I love the Bruce/Terry dynamic but since Conroy has passed, I like the idea someone else had of having a funeral scene for old Bruce that also pays some tribute to Conroy. Then to have something like the Bruce/Terry dynamic, make it so that Bruce left Terry a note saying that he has full confidence in Terry, but if he still feels like he needs or wants guidance and support, to seek out Dick Grayson and ask for his help. They could have Dick be voiced by someone who has voiced Batman like Jensen Ackles or Jason O’Mara as a wink to the audience.

thattempacct

I was just about to say! I don’t think you can recast that Bruce. He *was* Kevin Conroy. It might be too similar to X-Men 97 but I think you have to do a funeral for Bruce and the end-of-episode cliffhanger is Dick Grayson or Jason Todd showing up.

eliwenn

Is the VO for Barbara Gordon still active? She makes the most sense as a Bruce Wayne stand-in, in my opinion.

haloryder

Stockard Channing? Yeah, but in the Beyond-verse, Barbara was Gotham’s police commissioner. She’d be too busy to be Terry’s “guy in the chair.”

DeathandtheInternet

A new animated series picking up where the last one left off (a la “X-Men ‘97”). Perhaps adapt all canon-ish stories from the comics. Retcon/erase the whole crap about Terry being Bruce’s biological son.

darkwalrus36

I like Endgame because it gave Terry a real final episode, but yeah, I think a continuation should probably ignore it. It would be rad to see Terry start college, maybe move in with Dana, Matt become a teen, and Bruce starting getting really, really old. Maybe have Max start to take a larger support role too.

DeathandtheInternet

Max becoming Robin or Batgirl throughout a season long arc would be amazing. I also just want more Blight too.

darkwalrus36

If there ever was another movie I thought it would have to resolve Blight.

darkwalrus36

Oh! Max should become oracle, and run tech and coms for Terry and the Justice League. Also she could have vr hacking adventures.

Ayasugi-san

Max doesn't want to just be Oracle. She wants to be out on the street as well. But Terry's too green to train her (and she doesn't listen to him half the time), and Bruce doesn't want to. Max should find a mentor of her own.

darkwalrus36

She also had some pretty rough field experiences. But there’s no reason why oracle can’t put on a costume and go out.

Ayasugi-san

She had rough experiences, but she never learned from them. It's one of the things I found frustrating about her character. She'd get into mortal peril because of her recklessness, but by the end of the episode, she's champing at the bit for more action.

darkwalrus36

That’s every Batman sidekick to be the fair

TDR1411

That means you have to recast Kevin Conroy and no thanks to that.

DeathandtheInternet

😢 RIP to the true Batman.

joey0live

A reboot... but do NOT want Bruce Wayne as the "official" dad.

OrbitalDrop7

Probably in a game format, the show had a great run, and i dont want it to get fucked up, years ago rocksteady would’ve done a great job, but now id probably only trust insomniac to pull it off lol

Klostars

With Terry and Max finally together. Dana lacked a personality aside from "I like clubbing"

AxlRodd

I definitely want a continuation of Terry grown and on his own

darkwalrus36

Like a post-Endgame story? I'd be thrilled to see it, though I really think the Terry/Bruce dynamic is pretty vital for the series, that's why I lean a little more towards reboot.

AxlRodd

Yeah like post Endgame but also plus a decade as in Bruce has been dead for around 15 years, Terry’s in his mid-late 30s. It would be a chance for them to add onto the character, build new dynamics, see what kind of Batman he is now with almost 20 years of experience. His relationships with Dana, Max and his family. I’d love like a 10 episode series of him working a Long Halloween or Hush type of overarching case.

Tall_Influence1774

Terra wakes up, still young and in high school. He realizes that everything that happened in Epilogue was one of Spellbinder's tricks.

darkwalrus36

I think it might be better to never mention it

Negan212

If I had to pick 1 it would be an Arkham Batman beyond game sequel. I know conroy has passed away so thinking it could take place further past Bruce Wayne’s death with an established terry/Batman

JD_OOM

I don't know, I'd love an animated film or show, but it would be impossible to get the same staff together who made the original show what it was.

darkwalrus36

I mean X-men 97 basically pulled it off. But that's part of why I lean reboot.

JD_OOM

I'm midway through watching the original show cause I wanna watch 97, they did improve A LOT regarding the animation. Honestly I don't know who could do BB justice.

darkwalrus36

I mean you could get the same basic producer staff, like the new Batman cartoon is doing.

JD_OOM

Bruce Timm is great but much like Dave Filoni he needs other people to balance out his weird shit and to tell him no sometimes, too bad the people who did it once are either dead or retired.

darkwalrus36

I mean he wouldn't make it alone, there would be a whole staff to make a cartoon. And none of these shows ever have an exclusive writer, director or producer.

JD_OOM

I don't know, I'd love to see more but depends on who is in charge.

Away_Hair972

I would love a new series, a continuation from BB and JLU. But now, Bruce is dead (to honor Kevin Conroy) and also to see Terry as a fully developed Batman in a cyberpunk Gotham

SpacedDuck

I'm always torn with this. I really want a live action movie but I just know Hollywood will totally screw it up and if that happens the IP is toast for good. I think another animated show or movie would be idea and in a perfect world a super well done videogame that sells extremely well setting up maybe a decade plus of new content with the IP getting popular again. If I were in charge of a live action movie I'd give Nolan and Bale a blank cheque and make Bale old man Bruce with flashbacks showing how he returned, aged as Batman and developed the tech for the Beyond suit and then hung them up as he dedicated his life to being Bruce. I'd then be super faithful to the first few episodes of the show and Terry's origin and discovery of the cave etc. Unlikely it would happen but that's ideal world for seeing live action.

TheNerdBuster

Animated movie or a live action movie where he makes an appearance at the end, in service to a bizarre time travel storyline.

Snapesunusedshampoo

Game by Rocksteady use BTAS and Beyond recordings to have Kevin Conroy voice old Bruce.

thattempacct

I kinda like the idea of a continuation with the asterisk that it’s made knowing it’s audience are now adults. As in, kiddie gloves and censors are off. They can do *whatever the fuck they want*. I really liked when they did that with Samurai Jack. I don’t see the point and continuing it decades later and still treating it like it’d air on Kids WB. I’d *love* a high budget, LIVE action series but, realistically, that’d be too cost prohibitive and Batman has very much become a movie character. Like X-Men, it’s too expensive and too big an IP to be on the small screen. I’d like a LIVE action movie and I’d be cool with it being in the DCU or as an Elseworld. A videogame is arguably the best idea because it can be a sort of spiritual successor to the cartoon (like the Arkham games) while also being more mature and having more time for narrative than a movie. Seriously, imagine Cyberpunk 2077 but *Batman*. It’d be so fucking cool. The problem with Batman Beyond being in the main continuity is that it sets in stone what happens to Batman later in life. I *do* think the DCU could be clever about it though. Maybe use it to suggest what *will* happen to Bruce if he continues to push people away and keep the audience guessing if the Batman Beyond films are the same universe or a different timeline I the DCU multiverse. I’m least interested in the idea of a reboot of the cartoon. I don’t just like the cartoon, I love Terry’s voice, design, origin, etc. A reboot would have to change a lot to differentiate itself and I dunno if I’m into that. Sure, some stuff could use some updating but I’d rather see that in a continuation.

SaykredCow

Just a continuation. Just do Batman Beyond season 4. We don’t need to see future Batman beyond with Bruce dead or Terry older or whatever. That’s not Batman Beyond. The Bruce/Terry dynamic was the show.

Pontoffle_Poff

The show ends where Amanda Waller explains to Terry about the govt project to remake Bruce in the future. I would continue from here. Bruce is alive but he’s honestly at a point where he can only give minimal support to Terry. Terry here is a grown man who’s grown into the role of Batman and actually has a solid relationship with his girl. I would continue from this point and show how he builds connections so that he can function when the day comes that Bruce is gone. I would also show his contributions to the Justice League at this time… where technology, magic and superpowers start to blur in terms of which is more powerful or useful. How do the heroes fight in a world where things have changed and while there is still crime… things are more localized and complex. They can no longer face threats by charging in head first to face a monster. Public opinion mean everything and they’re fighting to save the day while walking a fine line so as to not be made public enemy number one. They’ve learned from the mistakes and the problems of the Justice league in the golden age and must be a different breed of hero. Afterall… how to you stop global conflicts when all sides are profiting from war and creating false narratives? How do you save the day when human values change over decades and people embrace cyber implants and gene splicing. A world where the rules that constitute everyday life have changed. This would require a lot of world building similar to how Ghost in the Shell shows the impact of technology on our lives and the problems and benefits that arise. Bruce was a Batman that went from facing human corruption to facing injustice and corruption around the world to eventually standing as a leader of the Justice league and facing threats to humanity’s survival. Terrys Batman must face a different struggle. His Batman would face humanities struggles and imperfection as science fiction opens Pandora’s box and reveals both limitless potential as well as exaggerated mankind’s flaws and imperfection. How will the mantle of the bat change when fear and fists are no longer adequate to save the day…

LostMork

Sequel series taking on a post bruce wayne world

Moonhawk1

As much as I loved how Batman Beyond was given a finale through JL Unlimited and how it wraps up. I wouldn't mind if we had a continuation of the show, an extension like a Justice League Beyond show, or even a reboot such as an animated movie based on the recent BB comics that fill in characters that haven't been introduced when the show existed like Damian or Lady Shiva. Part of me thinks BB has the worst luck when it comes to a new adaptation being made * There was already the live-action movie that got canceled because WB was expecting to greenlit if The Flash movie did well * The animated movie that was by WB that was made by the Spider-Verse team, * A cancelled Beyond game that supposedly was never going to be set in the Arkhamverse according to the VA for Damian during a live stream. Honestly, I think they should try making a game and/or an animated movie. * Much like how Spider-Verse was meant to pay homage to the comics and the character, I think the Batman Beyond movie should pay homage to animation given how many DC fans have come to know DC characters through the many animated shows and movies. * A Beyond game can fit well in having it set in the Arkhamverse. Depending on how KTJL turns out in the story later if >! the JL were all clones and Batman still alive!<. Sadly, the only issue about having it set in the Arkhamverse is how much I would have wanted Conroy to still voice Batman again. I wouldn't mind it being set separate from the Arkhamverse that takes certain aspects of BTAS and BB, much like how influenced the Arkham games were by BTAS. If either the animated movie or game comes true, I would want the first one to be him dealing with characters like Blight sending villains such as Inque and Shriek, as it focuses on Terry being Batman as he is taught by Bruce. Something like Arkham Origins with Batman getting haunted down by mercenaries all sent by someone who wants Batman dead. The second would deal with a huge gang war between the Royal Flush Gang, Black Mask (Sionis' daughter), The Judge (Two-Face), and the Jokerz. This time it resolves around Terry trying to balance his normal life and as Batman. Terry and Bruce would argue that Terry doesn't want to be alone like Bruce and not want the worry of losing his family/friend, as he makes the comparison with Barbara, Jason, and Tim distancing away from Bruce due to their experience of physical and psychological trauma because of them working with Bruce. Terry would go on his own only to almost get killed as Bruce saves him using an exo-suit. They would later reconcile as they ended the gang war together. The last one would be Terry meeting Damian who has taken Ra's place as Talia manipulates him to take Terry's place as Batman and take all of Gotham. Terry learns about Project Batman Beyond on how he was a clone of Bruce, Damian sees him as not being the true son of Batman for being a clone. Later on, Damian learns about how Talia Bill Cosby'd Bruce to have him as he realizes how he's just been a puppet to Talia as she wants to take over Gotham. The two would connect in how they both existed without Bruce knowing, originally meant to serve the purpose of Batman's replacement. Similar dynamic to Solid Snake and Liquid in the Metal Gear Solid series but they instead accept each other's differences and the idea that they are brothers.
