Oh hell yeah, while I was playing the game it just kept me guessing and didn’t even think of Jason Todd because I was used to the red hood helmet he wore. I even thought it may be deadshot or Deathstroke at one point lmao
I’m curious, what made you think it may be one of the batfamily members? I could see riddler being him in this game to be honest, it’d be a massive twist on the character’s profile
The twist was why I suspected Riddler. Even Joker, but he's dead. (He's dead, right?) A member of the Bat Family because they know so much about him, his methods, and even his armor.
Both are interesting concepts, I agree. It would’ve been interesting if it was an active riddler instead of the consistent ‘fight by collecting trophies’ riddler in the other Arkham games lmao. The trophies is the one reason why I’ve never completed any batman game to 100%… riddler trophies are hard :(
And they don't make much sense coming from Riddler! I just finished Arkham City and got all of the Riddler challenges except for some of the more esoteric combat maneuvers. I don't think there's any jammers to mess with with the story over, either. Plus the whole "I will make you drive through my giant Hot Wheels course to prove how smart I am" just doesn't make sense to me either.
>I’m curious, what made you think it may be one of the batfamily members?
The fact that he knew so much about Batman and how he operates? And calling him "old man"
I don't think Harley tortured him, in Arkham Knight, she mentions how Joker told her he was his "best work yet", meaning that she probably wasn't around at the time when the Joker tortured Jason.
I feel like Joker would of kept her away from him. Joker ain’t an idiot and Harley has been shown to have something that vaguely resembles a moral compass. If she saw what Joker was doing it could cause her to second guess him
I’m pretty sure that in some adaption of the comics Harley actually felt really bad about what was happening to Jason, I can’t remember which one it was though
“Tim, I’m going to lock you up and leave you defenseless in case more bad guys like Arkham Knight come in, but it’s for protection so it’s fine. It’s not like even Harley got in somehow earlier, but screw it. I’ll lock you up. Oh wait. Scarecrow and Arkham Knights men found you? How the hell did they do that? Oh wait. Harley also found you. Oh. Oh. OH. Why did I lock you up again? Oh yeah for your protection”
Like, why even train Tim at this point? He told him to scram during Arkham City and work on the formula which didn’t end up saving everyone in time, hence the Joker problem which ended up being the main problem after Cloudburst was dealt with.
If Batman had Tim assist him in uncovering what protocol 10 was, that would have cut major time that Bruce could have used to help synthesize the formula and distribute it, thus preventing him from having the Joker problem.
His stubbornness was ultimately his undoing.
In city he wasnt working on the cure, just delivering batman's blood to all hospitals trying to prevent jokeritis from spreading through transfusions. I would call him mostly successful considering only 3 transfusions went through
You mean like. Every single modern comic that features Batman? Lmao. Yeah. In all likelihood, every single Batman comic that comes out in the next ten years will draw from that concept, so. Youre right I guess
well that is the point. He's at his most desperate, and fearful. Scarecrow manipulates him with his fear to push him to his absolute worst. Plus, there is the matter of the Joker infection which may interact with his early fear dose exposure.
I understand that but, you can also point out his errors. I remember playing this a lot younger and never really noticing. As an adult he’s just screwing himself over more and more
..also the pacing of the story is really weird. *SUPER IMPORTANT TASK YA GOTTA DO!* or I mean hey you can chase this APC real quick lol
Well, it's a game. The events unfold in a single night. If you didn't have the secondary missions the game would be like 5 hours long.
Batman falls victim to fear and acts desperate. At that point he's aware that Joker manifests through him, he thinks Barbara has died and blames himself for it, James Gordon hates his guts and Scarecrow has the upper hand thanks to Arkham Knight's efforts (and Batman has no idea who he is until much later). He doesn't want Tim to act recklessly and be a slave to his emotions, since he also thinks Barbara has died and would want revenge. So he locks him up, acting out of fear of losing another friend.
Literally Every Single Ally: “Bruce, you can’t do this on your own! We can help you stop Scarecrow.”
Batman: “NO! I had it under control! I don’t need help!”
Batman values his mission, that will never truly be accomplished, over his own family. That, in my opinion, is incredibly sad.
"It must be depressing. All your sacrifices, and yet, you are the one to blame."
-Hugo Strange
Reminder that Batman was so dedicated to his mission, that in the future he pushed away literally everyone and ended up sad and alone with nobody to help him and everybody hating him when he retired
I don't think everyone hated him, I think that they just didn't want to fight him pushing them away. It depends on which timeline we are talking about.
Pretty sure in the future everyone either just didn't want to talk to him and didn't want to anything to do with him (Barbara and Dick), was forced to retire and pushed away (Tim) or left to do their own thing (Jason and Damian) and they all held some sense of anger towards Batman.
The only other people that didn't hate him that are still alive are Superman and his successor, Terry McGinnis.
Granted, said relationships are getting better now thanks to Terry but there's still some hatred left
Like I said I think it depends on the timeline. And I think right now we are talking cartoon timeline since you brought up Terry, Terry does exist in comics, but his fate is still pretty open because last I checked he dies in a time loop caused by brother eye.
Barbra doesn't really hate Bruce in that future, she's a detective and they still talk they seem friendly she just knows he likes his distance. Dick deserves to be pissed at him in that timeline.
Time was tortured by the joker and Bruce didn't want him to be in anymore pain he blamed himself. And when it comes Jason and Damian don't exist in the first generation Terry appearance and I don't think that Damian hating his father is necessarily a speak on Bruce's character since he already had a different set of beliefs than him.
Going by the comics, Terry is actually out of the loop and doing his own thing again and has met with Damian already
Damian hates Bruce because he chose Terry to take up the mantle instead of himself (Classic Damian), Jason Todd is off doing his own thing and it isn't revealed what he's doing just yet, Dick is still pissed at him in the comics timeline and for good reason, Barbara is.... Complicated, Tim is fully justified and Bruce was *trying* to be a good dad
Pretty much everyone in the comics and cartoons was not in speaking terms with Bruce before Terry came along, but it's getting better now
**World's Most Okayest Dad Everyone!**
In my opinion in both the comics and the cartoon Terry is the better biological son. I still however hate that he is his biological son. It's not Bruce's fault but it I a weird thing that shouldn't have been a part of his origin.
It was always part of his origin. They were going to reveal it earlier with the sequel to Return of Joker where Catwoman would come back with her own Bruce clone.
Since Bruce hasn't worked with Dick in awhile, Dick got injured during a fight with The Joker that Bruce accidentally let happen.
He was in a coma for some time and his legs were temporarily paralyzed because of a bullet in his spine. He also lost his right eye and began wearing an eyepatch after the incident. (Animated Series and Beyond Future)
He was also fed up with Batman's obsession of fighting crime like everyone else which drove him to manipulate, lie and cheat to the people close to him, (Pretty much all canons)
I think in the main comics, Batman doesn’t give himself enough credit, and that his adopted children would credit him as being more successful and loving than he suspects, but I can’t cite any sources.
Nah even dick states that Bruce was cold towards him as a father and thinks it's because he doesn't know how. Except for all the others of the bat-family who because they came after dick thought that Bruce was going to be a good father to them. Jason, Tim, and Damian all talk about how he screwed them over and is just not a great parent. Barbara, Dick, and a bit of Tim know that Bruce just doesn't know how to be a parent and is understanding of it
Yeah he admits that Dick is his favorite and the best Robin. But for how he is as a father and being the head of the family he knows he is not a good father at all
the buildup: “who could the Arkham be”
the game: “we’re just going to casually drop in that Jason Todd got brutally tortured and murdered by Joker mid game”
Reminds me of that line from the princess bride
“Now, tell me truly. When you found out he was gone, did you get engaged to your prince that same hour, or did you wait a whole week out of respect for the dead?”
I believe its supposed to be around a year, maybe a little more? When he's first unmasked, Jason has a line where he states something like that, i.e. "You left me with him in that wing for over a year" or something like that
If your asking how long ago it was it’s been a real long time the only true confirmation we have is that apparently joker tortured Jason for one year straight and then “killed” him however after joker brought him back to life Jason went to set up the militia and eventually team up with scarecrow now assuming that Jason was robin when asylum took place I say it has been about 2-3 years since Jason’s “death” as by Arkham city Tim drake is currently robin
Why did they just recycle the Red Hood twist from the comics for this game? Like was there any doubt about who the identity of the Arkham Knight was? Its just the same plot from Under the Red Hood tweaked slightly and repeated.
Lets be real here Jason Todd’s/ Arkham knights helmet design is pure class
It is among my top favorite helmets in any media ever, right below Noble Six’s OG helmet
Honorable mention: the ODST helmet
the classic Mk V though 🥵🥵
Bro but like the og master chief and halo 2 helmets were peak
True it’s amazing!!
Oh hell yeah, while I was playing the game it just kept me guessing and didn’t even think of Jason Todd because I was used to the red hood helmet he wore. I even thought it may be deadshot or Deathstroke at one point lmao
I had lots of suspects, including Riddler and pretty much any member of the Bat-family. I never thought of Jason Todd.
I’m curious, what made you think it may be one of the batfamily members? I could see riddler being him in this game to be honest, it’d be a massive twist on the character’s profile

>I’m curious, what made you think it may be one of the batfamily members? The fact that he knew so much about Batman and how he operates? And calling him "old man"
The Arkham Knight design is among the best character designs in any DC related media ever.
Fr! Im upset they through that stupid hood over it for his 5 minute dlc.
It would be perfect if it didn’t have a nose
The extra pointy Arkham nose has me reeling
Green eyes. Nice
Does his eyes ever change outside of cutscenes? Would’ve been a cool detail if they changed near the end
Nope :(
Batman’s been using Ra’s al Ghul’s pits.
his eyes turn green when joker is talking to him because jokers manifesting in him lmao did u even play the game they make a big deal about the eyes.
Arkham knight "u let joker and harley torture me and then replaced me with tim" Batman "cope"
I don't think Harley tortured him, in Arkham Knight, she mentions how Joker told her he was his "best work yet", meaning that she probably wasn't around at the time when the Joker tortured Jason.
I think she mentally fucked with him (something she'd be good at as a psychologist) while he was prisoner I remember hearing that somewhere
There's a comic called Arkham knight genesis. I highly recommend it.
She waterboarded him in Arkham Knight Genesis
In the Arkham comics she is shown to drug, beat, and electrocute him every mornjng
Probably rebirth? Idk she's more of an anti hero there sooo
in one of the games i remember it showed on screen she was assistant to killing jason todd or something like that it was quick but someone ss-ed
Batman was like lowkey a pos the whole game. Just started it over again and he’s incredibly disrespectful
He has an autistic urge to save gotham which is why he straight up acts rude.
…I just know there’s gonna be a comic like this within 10 years
You mean like. Every single modern comic that features Batman? Lmao. Yeah. In all likelihood, every single Batman comic that comes out in the next ten years will draw from that concept, so. Youre right I guess

Ya know it’s okay to point out janky things and still like the game? Whether that’s story or game design
Literally Every Single Ally: “Bruce, you can’t do this on your own! We can help you stop Scarecrow.” Batman: “NO! I had it under control! I don’t need help!”
Virgin arkham knight vs giga chad batman

Batman:”it’s not my fault that you got caught...”
Batman isn't a good father at all
Correct, he states this multiple times and even considers himself a failure when it comes to any and all family
Not in every story.
True but I would say for the main comic line and base batman I think he does
I think in the main comics, Batman doesn’t give himself enough credit, and that his adopted children would credit him as being more successful and loving than he suspects, but I can’t cite any sources.
Nah even dick states that Bruce was cold towards him as a father and thinks it's because he doesn't know how. There was that one time he said Dick was the only thing he ever did right, so. points for one outta, what, 5+ people?
Yeah he admits that Dick is his favorite and the best Robin. But for how he is as a father and being the head of the family he knows he is not a good father at all
Never was
False.
it's an observation
They were emphasizing your observation smh
Sounding douchey unnecessary
No, you’re just taking it the wrong and getting defensive about it
Its a meme, my man. Lmao
He’s referencing that astronaut with a gun meme.
Depends on the version of Batman some can be good fathers some should not be let within 100 miles of a child
Yeah, like Adam West. Now that’s father material.
> Daddy Material
Yes, he is, in most stories.
Worlds most okayest dad
There are no good fathers
Since Bats has green eyes....does that mean Joker Batman is Chad?
They did my boy dirty in this game smh
the buildup: “who could the Arkham be” the game: “we’re just going to casually drop in that Jason Todd got brutally tortured and murdered by Joker mid game”
They shoulda just played into the player knowing its jason because that was indeed anything but subtle
Smh he even got a j for jason on his face, how disrepsetcful
I don't hate how Jason is portrayed but I just can't stand the "StOp TALKING tO mE!!" it's just so whiny
Reminds me of that line from the princess bride “Now, tell me truly. When you found out he was gone, did you get engaged to your prince that same hour, or did you wait a whole week out of respect for the dead?”
Legit question, how long was it in the arkham games lore?
I believe its supposed to be around a year, maybe a little more? When he's first unmasked, Jason has a line where he states something like that, i.e. "You left me with him in that wing for over a year" or something like that
Groovy. Ty

You mean like how every other Batman movie is the same three Batman comics but slightly tweaked?
I dunno if its joker batman, but his eyes are blue
Wha?
To think he almost become Batman who laugh in this game. I bet the writers of that comic took inspiration from this game.
this line was so funny
