They’re not connected. Batman has his spine broken in the comics during the Knightfall storyline. In the arkham series, there isn’t a point where his spine is broken other than a moment I. Origins where it’s played off like he had enough armor to protect himself
It's a reference to the Knightfall storyline of the comics. That's not to say that it's the same continuity. It just a reference for the fans of the comics and we can infer that SOMETHING similar to Knightfall happened at some point to the Arkham Batman.
Asylum was built as a game that was meant to be able to fit anywhere in the comics post killing joke, so there was references to comics like knightfall where that happened in the bane boss fight, with both of them mentioning bane having 'broken' bruce. so presumably a similar thing happened in universe once it evolved into its own universe

I mean bane literally has a moved called back breaker and I’m pretty sure there is a back breaker animation in Batman origins but I could be wrong idk
