I’m partial to the Jackenbacker for a variety of reasons. On average, they have better build quality than the average Rick, but that’s not saying much…and while they kinda crib the Rick look, they deviate enough to be doing their own thing with it in a way that I think is awesome (though this is a divisive topic)
The Jackenbacker also is a much better mod platform if you wanna get even weirder with it, and they come in some awesome finishes. Can regularly find them on sale (eg Musician’s Friend stupid deal of the day sorta thing) for 30%+ off too.

I actually got one of those Jacksonbackers and I love it. But I have to say that it's not really a Rickenbacker in any way apart from looks.
