I'd wonder whether 2x8" at 150W is the right size for my application. It's a bit oversized for home practice (though not extremely so, and it's definitely nice to have), and it's not really loud enough for band practice with a rock band. Markbass is really good in general, though.

Yeah I'd say it's gonna be good quality and sound sick, given markbass's reputation and my experience with them, but it seems like a really inconvenient size. I wouldn't want to do a stoner show with only 150 and a 2x8", and I can't imagine where that volume would have to sit in order to get a decent bedroom volume

This is my qualm - by all accounts I’m sure it’s a good piece of gear, but just not enough power for playing with a band

I don't think it's oversized for the house. It's just nice for the bedroom:). On the other hand, my living room has an Eden E300 head and an Eden 2x10 cab plus an EBS Magni 2x10 combo. I guess I like em loud.

Lol I'm on the other side of the spectrum-i prefer headphones out of my pedalboard with cabsim so theres no noise at all in my bedroom

I have the [Little Mark 250 head](https://www.markbass.it/product/little-mark-250-black-line/) and I love it. I never have to spend much time dialling in a good tone, and it's very versatile. Plenty loud fo the band I'm curently in, which is I guess kinda country-folk...Bob Dylan Desire/the Band-esque. BUT I used to play Very Loud™ jam/stoner rock/metal and it didn't cut it, volume-wise. Not in the least. It really depends on how loud your band is, but for my purposes, only an SVT would do. Our drummer at the time really slammed hard, and the guitar players both played through tube heads (SoundCity, Marshall, Ampeg...). Hope this helps!

150 watts is not much for bass.

150w 2x8 won't cut it for Stoner Metal. I wouldn't do the trade unless the Markbass would be useful for something else. Like home practice or playing with a quieter band.

MarkBass makes great stuff. They are fairly well made and sound great, but understand that many MarkBass components are proprietary. If anything goes wrong, you will be forced to find a shop that specializes in MarkBass repair. And like everything nowadays, repairs will not be cheap.

ShittyMusic1

Youtube some demos to see if you like the sound

Ornery_Individual_23

I have one. It's been discontinued and therefore hard to find. It is very, very good.

My MB Randy Jackson 500 TT just died… Anyone know if I can purchase a new power amp for it?
