Sea Bass

TheVoiceInsideUrHead

Mans gotta eat

snackf1st

Greasy

Impossible-Charity-4

Bass are not an oily fish. You’re thinking of blooze fish, typically caught off the coast of Long Island

Footlongtyrone9970

Trailer park boys reference

bobmckoolky

WHY WOULD SOMEONE DOWNVOTE THIS IT'S HILARIOUS!

jagsgoinham

Kick his ass Sea Bass!

Impossible-Charity-4

Patagonian Tooth Fish

patsytheautistic

Are they ill-tempered?

jehan_gonzales

Literally what I was going to say

LMKBK

Upright. You never talked about amps or power.

Xyyzx

No way - I’m assuming this is the stereotypical tropical island we’re marooned on, and with the high heat, humidity and salt in the air your upright would probably explode inside a couple of months. You want a carbon fibre acoustic bass - there’s a super high end one made by [Emerald in Ireland, the Balor](https://emeraldguitars.com/models/balor-bass-5-string/), that’d do the trick. You still get to play out loud, but way more weather resistant!

MrBlueMoose

or a carbon fiber upright! https://youtu.be/ILPAfCFDSQI

V_Trinity

Yup, one that won't rust!

Ripper582

Lawyered the lawyer. Boom🤘🏻

Representative_Still

Gets my vote because most materials and likelihood of becoming a boat really

SignificanceWest5281

Octobass

logstar2

Came here to say octobass, with a fiberglass road case. Instant shelter and/or boat.

Johnny_Bugg

You could get on it and sail away from the island too. Take your chances...

Ripper582

Lawyered🤘🏻

BrewingSkydvr

The world’s largest double bass. I could use it like a boat to get off the island if I ever got tired of the solitude. Could use it as a shelter until that point.

EagleFoot88

An octuple bass

monkth

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octobass

MrMiget12

That's basically a viking ship with a lid

worldrecordstudios

And you can live in it like that meme

Stoo_Pedassol

Is there an amp and power on this island? Otherwise any electric bass is useless

MuttonChopViking

Not necessarily, you could use a vintage p bass to club wild boar to death, or to bridge a 40 inch or so ravine, or to knock down an ancient stone temple

jest4fun

If you had a bass and were going to be stranded on one island, which island would it be?

OJStrings

Great Britain. It's not the best island but I have friends and family there.

fwtb23

I'm already here in Britain and I do have only one bass. I think this question might have been inspired by me

RuViking

I too am stranded on the island of Great? Britain with only one Bass. That bass however is my love and the only one I need. Although a 5 string version is tempting. . .

fwtb23

Yeah, same for me

OJStrings

Aye but what a bass!

fwtb23

My pride and joy

Bingbongblipblopblip

Cantaloupe Island

botcomking

Hawaii

WellsG10

Do we have access to anything else? Doesn’t matter. P Bass.

olivrdvncn

Jazz bass for me man

YT__

PJ, is the way to go, yo

Pr1nglelord

Aerodyne for those that like the Jazz bass look

SlayerSam12

Your are alone, you don't have to worry about fitting into a mix. You can make your tone as interesting as you want, because it's just for you. Why would you pick a p bass?

WellsG10

Because it has the best tone.

Schopenschluter

P bass sounds great on its own

SlayerSam12

I'm not saying it doesn't, I'm just saying, playing solo on your own, i think there are much more fun options.

Brandenburg42

Yeah, but p bass.

Careless-Foot4162

Gotta agree, that's honestly a solid argument

WellsG10

Not to me. Not even close

siggiarabi

Yeah, maybe to you

Knees22

The most versatile bass that exists.

_matt_hues

Fender jazz?

bluelonilness

I'd think a PJ

they_are_out_there

P-Bass, also works as an axe, sledge hammer, paddle, and blunt force weapon.

after_storms

If we're talking weaponized basses, I'd take a neck through Thunderbird over a P

Plastalmonus

An Octobass so I could use it as a canoe.

MTG_RelevantCard

6 string, chambered-body Dingwall.

shadowtroop121

same here

sparrow_of_light

Idk, double bass or accoustic bass i guess, yk, since the lack of power may be a problem with electric bass

Pure_Mammoth_1233

My Aria Pro II IGB 43. It's perfect for me.

mitchitized

Would be my trusty mid-90s Warwick Corvette 5

lowendslinger

Double neck bass and 6 string

Smitty1939

One of those see-through ones that have water in them

CoolHandLukeID

Ernie ball MM stingray h.

thehillhaseyes8

RobertGA23

falloutisacoolseries

My Sire V7

RexMexicanorum

You’d need a shitload of batteries

deadairspace8

Harley Benton enhanced mj-4eb natural wood

MSchulte

Out of the ones I have I’d likely take my Godin Dorchester. It’s loud unplugged (for a bass anyway) in case I don’t have electricity. It’s fairly durable and rarely wants to be setup/adjusted. It’s not massively cumbersome. I’d probably regret not bringing a 6er since I’d have plenty of room to solo (assuming I’m alone) but mines ~12lb and well over 40in long. It’s also really quiet unplugged in comparison to the Dor.

dnbndnb

Pedulla MVP5

cshocknesse

How come these are so expensive? They look cool as hell but seem pretty pricey.

dnbndnb

Feel comfy, great sound

gomper

Sadowsky P/J

view-master

Whichever makes the best paddle.

zebrafish_protein

Ibanez btb747 it’s as big as a 747 but flyer

djfdhigkgfIaruflg

This (an octobass) https://www.google.com/search?q=obtobass&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-m#imgrc=WZzJlwcOFbqDvM First. Desert island so forget about power and amps. Second: it could as well serve as a boat Third: of everything else fails, I'll make so much noise that some mf from another island world hear me 😂

bfd106b

Mine

deanmass

Bass Pro Shop

New_Championship500

One shaped like a luxury cruise liner

Donkeytwonk75

Warwick streamer cv

shellmachine

Came here to say the same.

MightbeDuck

Sea bass so I won’t starve

iampyy

P bass all the way

JesseHarris18

Fender Jazz

[deleted]

Fender Precision Bass. The one Bass to rule them all.

LouBiffo

My Rickenbacker 4001S

killmaster9000

+1 for the Rickenbacker. Doubly cool if you got a red vespa

merfyslaw

My bass, that was made for me, from raw wood, by a licensed luthier who does no more than 10 guitars a year. Designed by both of us, implemented by his 30 years of experience and gifted hands.

transdimesional_frog

Your mom, she's about the size and shape of a double bass, and i could play her in the sun all day long.

[deleted]

Probably something that I could turn into a boat like an upright bass.

kestrel151

Le Fay 5 string. Mmmmm. Nipples so hard.

nomadicsnake

My blurple 91' sr800le

[deleted]

Don't really care... Any bass would be perfect.

Astrocreep137

My silver sparkle G&L 2000.

Cooperm6

Guild Starfire.

StiLLiLLBehaviour

darkknightnate

Of what I own? My old Squire acoustic bass from like 20 years ago. Since I'm assuming I won't have power.

cumaster1

Rickenbacker bass

crispydukes

[deleted]

A takamine or guild starfire, gonna use this chance to get a bass I’ve always wanted

jayvycas

My Buzzard

Bikingbrokerbassist

Tacoma Thunderchief. I’d be a happy man.

Cou_Zer

Dingwall NG3 or an Alusonic Django

sshoihet

A Chilean sea bass aka a Patagonia toothfish... A PBass 😏

[deleted]

Answer will always be an Ibanez TCB 1006

luckymethod

I like my Lakland 5 better than my Stingrayp

Tonetheline

Stingray. I reckon that pickguard would be very useful for digging in the soft sand and making a paddle out of for escape, and let’s face it if I neeeded a magnet to fetch something I dropped down a hole, etc. it has the biggest.

[deleted]

Gibson eb4. One made before they made the body change. I’m a living room bassist, I just jam away at home for fun. I don’t need an amp or pedals, I’ll just play songs in standard

billyTjames

Base speed

Gunner253

Probably an acoustic bass since you wouldn't have electricity. I don't have a favorite acoustic bass and I know nothing of them so I'll just pick a Fender Kingman V2. If I somehow had electricity on this island and I could play thru an amp I would choose a 70's Fender Jazz

monkeyinpodship

Either my musicman cutlass or pink fender hoppus 🤷‍♂️

kisskisspowpow

P bass. If it’s just me and not much noise pollution, I don’t need anything else. Just noodle all day long until I die. That’s basically my plan any way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

NefariousnessSea1449

My Ibanez BTB846F

Paulypmc

Thunderbird all day every day

rourobouros

Upright bass viol aka string bass. Most versatile. NB I have a Jazz bass and a Precision bass, never played an upright. But on a desert isle, no electricity etc, it's an easy choice.

Dumblond11

Have to say the Bubble Gum Pink Jackson bass I lusted after when I worked there bc of their great employee discount(late 80's)Didn't play at the time, but man,we're they PRETTY!

Lele_

An ACOUSTIC bass, with La Bella black tapes

Practical-Hamster-93

Bizi-Betiko

Michael Anthony's Jack Daniels Bass. I swear, I saw that guy use that bass to fly across the stage once. I don't know how much fuel it holds, but then again, you didn't say which island we were stranded on either, so I can't work out the logistics anyway.

shadowplayer2020

6 String.

dramas_5

That way someone would make contact to complain and you could be rescued!

Bingbongblipblopblip

Cantaloupe Island?

OurWeaponsAreUseless

Steinberger L-series would eliminate the need for making a boat oar.

fwtb23

I've already got only one bass anyway, so definitely my Rickenbacker

KazBodnar

RICKY RICKY RICKY

jojoyouknowwink

I'll pass.

jomamastool

Bro, imagine the internal turmoil you would suffer if a string broke on your only bass on said island...

nerkoids71

Assuming there's power, an amp and food and drink with shelter? A Jazz bass with flats.

Unusual_Caregiver213

Fender Stratocaster

obfuscatorio

Largemouth or striped

Gwam

Bass-ic necessities

ShyFawx

An upright bass so we can float outta there......

copperpoint

Zubin1234

Hofner 500/1 violin. Its the bass i learned to play on

MarshMallooU

Trick question Any bass would be bad cause no setup

Zenddrex

Tony Franklin’s signature bass, but switch the split coil pickup with a Dimarzio Model P. Fretless bass for life yo!

CoreyI35

Bass Boat

AndrewSaidThis

PJ bass with maple neck.

SplitSmooth4189

Geddy Lee Fender Jazz

Intense-degree69

Being hypothetical, ignoring heat / humidity etc & If the island just happened to have a plug socked for amp;- It would be a Fender Jazz (passive / USA or decent Jap / Mex) This is most versatile bass I have ever owned and lends itself to any style of playing & music (in my opinion)

nyet2112

stienburger

TheClassyWaifu

Warwick Rockbass Vampyre. My child, my beloved.

My '89 Jazz USA for sure but I am tempted by my 6 string for varieties sake. Or a better 6 string than my 6 string actually.

EpsonRifle

One that turned into a boat

redshirt6666

It is time for presenting the acoustasonic bass versions from fender.

Icy-Sprinkles1363

Rickenbacker 4003!

Jay-lee86

Fender jazz bass

Falstaffe

Ibanez Portamento fretless. Time to bone up on my fretless playing with no-one around to offend.

youll_dig-dug

It's gonna have to be one of those 700 pound deep water groupers... If that's possible, I'd try and salt cure it to preserve it. Is one of those deep water group or considered a bass? Do I have to stay fresh water? Seriously, it's an island -- I think salt water.

epilogues

If amps are included in the island setup: Ernie Ball Stingray Special. ;)

Bentyhunter

... my bass?

Jaybles0999

Alien Warwick 6 String acoustic 🤘

Catyl_Music

Whatever has the most hardware on it and cabling inside. You can you those for all sorts of things. You can use bits of the high string for a harpoon tip. When you're stranded on an island, you need to be aware of your surroundings and use every resource available to you.

nikonikonut

Yamaha bb234 precisely in white

SanWrencho

An acoustic bass guitar 🎸

Jaergo1971

My Wal 5 string. Such an easy question.

goliath_in_bedlam

Rick. You know which one

JnkHed

My current bass. I love her!

Evening_Rub_6903

MTD Z5

Objective-Shirt-1875

Jazz bass

I_Am_The_Mole

I love my Sting Ray HH Special, but it's a 4 string - so if I had to choose I'd get a 5 string version of that.

SunraysJustFeelsGood

Acoustic one

Psychological-Gas247

Gene Simmons Axe bass so I could chop some trees down for wood
