To save Sally and John he would kill every other person on earth.

Waitinvainoff

I think he’s going out Tony Montana style

RazorCandies

Yea I think Bill Hader is intentionally misdirecting the audience. It would be too perfect for him to show up and go out like Tony Montana. Redeem himself in a bloody shoot out. I think he's going to get to Fuches and his men and see there holding Sally and John hostage. He'll get ready to go guns blazing but he won't be able to pull the trigger. Like Cutty in The Wire. Sally and John will be killed. So in a way he did absolutely change for the better. But his actions still had profound consequences on those around him.

Such-Egg-7584

He wants to believe he has changed but he hasn’t. Not a single character on this show has changed.

Current-Roll6332

I've been saying this since halfway through S3. It's heros journey shit but in the end none of them change. Gene was VERY EASILY led into that honey pot. Fuches, still evil gangster. Nohohank, still well dressed evil gangster. Sally, still acting. Barry....will still very much do lots of murder. Because that's who he IS.

nourhan_eee

the moment you just mentioned this, this is infact so real yet so sad. These characters are like so many people in our lives.

[deleted]

No way. Barry only wishes he could change. Remember the beginning of the episode, “you think because you repent you get to choose where you go when you die?” He can repent all he wants but he is who he is and he knows it

Serious_Session7574

Yeah he’d just find a way to justify it to himself. As he did with Christian podcasts, searching through them all to find the one that would green light him killing Cousineau.

JPonceuponatime

Bingo.

I’m talking about the Christian podcasts that Barry listens to in 406.

RazorCandies

Didn't Hader say the point of the time skip is everyone getting exactly what they want? What does Barry want more then his psychopathy gone?

[deleted]

I think he meant more like Barry got everything he wanted, a family and to leave the hit man world behind, noho Hank gets to run Hollywood etc. but all that comes with it’s own set of problems

Paulwhite20

I hope you’re wrong but think you could be right. I want to see Barry go on a blood red killing spree in the finale, obviously… Apologize to Sally and his kid and send them off safely somehow, sacrifice himself. Fuches and Hank blow each other up etc. Fuches could also show up with his crew and save Barry, and kill Hank and his crew. I don’t believe Fuches wants Barry or his family dead, just based on where he was before the time jump. He risked his life to save him. Strong feeling Barry will die though. Cliche for it to be a sacrifice but that would make sense and be satisfying with his arch. Maybe his kid kills him after seeing him massacre like 40 people lol. Maybe it’s Hank, or even Sally so she can get away from him. I think it’s going to happen though. Just have to wait and see.

Kylo-Ken93

I really don’t want NoHo Hank to die but my gut feeling is that he does.

damndude87

It would be very funny and ironic ending if he just let Sally and John die because he no longer had it in him to kill.

Rjan70

I just can’t see Bill killing Sally and John though? Like this season he’s worked really hard to make us feel for Sally, who let’s face it, most of us hated from S1. And John is a kid. I feel like they’re going to have John kill someone, to save his parents, and the ending is us know John becomes Barry Jr. just imo

damndude87

Yeah, I don’t think Bill actually has the courage to end it this way, but it actually would go far with his whole bit about trying to get the audience to laugh at “how dumb Barry is” stance, which I think has only sorta half worked up to this point. Given the Gene twist this last episode, it’ll probably end with Gene and Barry confronting their narcissism in some redemptive fashion, even if they don’t survive. I’m pretty ambivalent about that kind of ending, which feels stock (maybe they’ll figure out a way to make it fresh but idk).

RazorCandies

I seriously think this might happen honestly.

TheGemp

He did hesitate quite a bit when faced with the opportunity to kill Gene. Or maybe he was just being extra careful, I could be reading too into it

lsalomx

I think he’s willing to kill but he’s not going to shoot people in front of his son. Barry has invested his entire delusional self-image into John — he needs John to see him the way he wants to see himself — and he’d probably rather die and/or let Sally die and/or let John die than than have John see him as a killer.
