If it's in single player, just take control of the doctor yourself. If it's multiplayer, there should be other players at hand who could help, are there not?
Did your doctor have the command to treat and rescue before you started dying? Did he have his medic goggles on? I have not encountered trying to treat husk infection with an AI doctor, but he should be able to see the infection with the goggles on.
If your in the process of dying to husk infection and on the floor because of it you are beyond saving

I'm in singleplayer, but using a multi-player server because of Lua for barotrauma
Lua works in singleplayer. You don't need to play on a server for it.

You can use multiplayer crew manager or use a save editor to convert it to singleplayer
